I received Essie Smooth-E basecoat as a #freeproduct to try for my honest review from #topboxcircle #trytopbox. I had never heard of this basecoat so I was intrigued as it stated it was a ridge filler and would give my nails a smooth finish to apply polish. I use a lot of dark colours especially blue that has a tendency to stain my nails. I did find that with the initial application it gave my nails a matte finish with an almost grippy feel and then I applied my Essie polish in a nice deep blue. It did dry quickly before I applied the polish. I have had the blue nail polish on for a few days and did find my nails chipped almost the next day so that was a little disappointing. The finish was nice and clean looking like a mani should be. I am not overly impressed though. I feel that there are better products on the market.CeeZee39
I absolutely love the entire Essie line, they always have high quality products. It’s my go to for my mani/pedis. The only issues I’ve come across is that my nail polish never lasted a week. It would constantly chip off, but since trying out this base coat that Essie brilliantly thought of, I no longer have that issue. Based on the reviews of Rosy Future OPI nail lacquer I was excited and looking forward to receiving my new nail polish. Wow! What a shock it turned out to be. One coat looked good and I should have stopped right there. Thinking it would look even better with two coats I eagerly added a second as it was easy to apply. One coat gave a beautiful sheer iridescent shimmering look. Adding a second coat gave me neon nails that resembled fluorescent lights. I will continue to use the Rosy Future but only one coat. I am disappointed because I think a manicure with two coats of polish lasts longer. But, the look with one coat is acceptable with top coat layers. This polish is not the winner that I expected but at the same time it is not a total loss either. I would recommend the Rosy Future because of its versatility. For those who like a sheer iridescent look it’s a winner. For those who like neon nails it’s also a winner. Enjoy your new nail polish! I absolutely love this top coat. I use it over Color Street Nails, but also for my daughter when she's painting her nails. It extends my manicure to 10 days, at least (I usually get sick of the color first and take it off). Dries very quick and gives a nice shiney coat. I don't usually need to reapply. Gives it a nice gel polish look and I get a ton of compliments all the time. Makes my nails feel much stronger. Definitely recommend. I do keep nail polish thinner though as sometimes it gets too thick in the bottle, so I add a few drops here and there.olena.t
I received this nail polish complimentary from Influenster in exchange for my honest opinion. I read a description of this which called it a "Barbie pink" and was immediately like "ugh great, bright pink!" I'm generally not a fan of pinks, but this one grew on me! I applied two coats of Two Timing the Zones over the OPI Natural Nail Base Coat, finishing it off with the OPI Top Coat. This polish bubbled, even after leaving 40+ minutes between coats, which was annoying! I ended up topping it with Essie's A Cut Above, which made already girly nails *even more* girly, and I actually liked it! This was again topped with another layer of the top coat. The polish chipped on my dominant hand within 3 days. Considering there's three layers on top, with the tips capped, that's pretty annoying! On my non-dominant hand, it chipped within 5. For me, it's not worth the price tag and I want far better longevity regardless of the price tag. It's around £15 in the UK, and I've got £1-2 Kiko polishes that perform better. This duo gets the job done but not the best compared to others. The base doesn’t always lay smoothly and that really shows on the polish. The top coat takes forever to dry and even when it’s been cured it still has a tacky feeling to it which can leave marks on your polish. DND was the first gel polish company I used. So naturally I knew nothing how about other brands. I use the top coat majority of the time when I was learning how to do nails. With that being said I loved it until I started doing more research. This top coat is not as shiny as I would like it to be, now that I have been using other brands. I have since than moved on to nailsupplyglamour top coat. What has bothered me about this brand top coat is once you use alcohol to wipe off the top layer it instantly gets dull. Now I know this is not a top coat that you need to wipe, but if you accidentally got something on it and you need to wipe it off you definitely can't use alcohol. This is definitely beginners friendly, so if you need something cheap to learn how to do nails, and need a basic top coat this is your product.kamry.m
I have since used with many other gel color brands and they work wonderfully. The top coat is NOT super-thick, like some other brands, so I use as little as possible. Also, be sure not to tilt your nails to the sides when putting into the LED/UV curing machine (doing so may result in pooled topcoat at the sides of the nail, if you have used a little too much). I typically cure my thumbs separately, so that all my fingers lay FLAT in the curing lamp. The finish is beautifully shiny and does require the sticky film to be removed with alcohol after curing the final coat. After hearing the nail art YouTuber KelliMarissa, rave about Orly Bonder. I bought some last week, and wow!!! This base coat is amazing! My polished nails ordinarily chip so easily, but within a few hours of application, chips had already begun, but not this time, with my new Orly Bonder! I'm into Day Five since I polished my nails, and no chips yet! I had given up on finding a base coat that protected from chipping, but I believe I finally found one. I love gorgeous polish, and had given up on buying it because the polish nail tips end up badly chipped by day's end. I usually buy polishes that cost $10 to $16 each, with iridescent flakes (nicorn Skins), holographic toppers, cremes and a lot more unique looks! I'm going to start buying them again! I purchased this product around 1.5 weeks ago along with the Orly Nail Defense Strengthening Protein Treatment(can be applied as basecoat or topcoat), and it is a wonderful product that's affordable and easy to apply. I would like to give directions on how I go about using it, first. I wash my hands and dry them thoroughly. Second using Orly's Bonder as a basecoat I apply a thin even layer to my nails and allow it to dry down for a bit, then apply a 2nd thin even layer and allow it to dry thoroughly. Third after the Bonder has dried thoroughly I apply a thin even layer of whatever color nail lacquer I'm using and allow it to dry thoroughly, now the number of nail lacquer coats used is up to your preference, but I use 2 thin even layers and make sure they're dried thoroughly. Lastly I always top my color with a basecoat that doubles as a topcoat, currently I'm using the Orly Nail Defense Strengthening Protein Treatment as my topcoat, but I apply a thin even layer allowing it to dry thoroughly, then end with a 2nd thin even layer allowing it to dry thoroughly as well. I've had my current polish on for 9 days and it still looks decent, just the corner edges on some of my nails are showing through, so I will apply a thin layer of the base/top coat allow it to thoroughly dry, next apply my nail lacquer color allow it to thoroughly dry, and finish off with another layer of my base/top coat, and I'll get another week of wear before I remove. **I'd like to add that Orly's Bonder Rubberized Basecoat is ONLY meant to be used with nail lacquer and NOT gel polish, and if used with anything other than lacquer it may not perform as good as it should. Also, when using any nail polish you should always use a basecoat before applying your color then once your color has thoroughly dried top it off by using a topcoat, and that'll allow your color to last longer.Kelli89
This is an excellent base coat. It goes on smoothly, fills ridges, self levels, protects my nail from staining, and keeps my polish on longer than other base coats I’ve tried. It works well with Orly products as well as other brands. I definitely recommend keeping a bottle of this around if you like to do your own nails. As with any other Orly products I’ve tried, it just works really well. I have turned again and again to Shellac or gel nails, till I finally decided to give the Infinite Shine a go. It’s been 10 days now and my nails still look good, amazing! I was so not expecting this. Obviously it depends on if you look out a bit for your hands and nails, but if you do, yo will definitely last up to 11 days as OPI promises! I found however it did take about 30 min. drying time as opposed to the claimed 15 min., however you’re already good to go after 15min. I used the Infinite Shine base coat and top coat with two different colours on two occasions, waiting the specified time between coats. The colour is quite gloopy and the brush doesn’t feel as good as usual OPI quality. 12 hours after application I looked down to see the polish from my index finger had completely stripped off. No idea how! Within three days the other nails had started to peel and chip. I found this with the other colour I purchased too – really disappointing. I am astounded that this product has received any positive reviews, it's truly awful. I've been using O.P.I products for years and always found them to be consistently good, the normal polishes do seem to last longer than most brands and the colours are fantastic, However, it's a totally different story with these new 'hello kitty infinite shine' colours and duo pack. They literally chipped within one day! The colours themselves don't go on nicely at all, they felt rough and badly applied and the base coat mottled like i had hand cream on which made it go a funny consistency (which I didn't) I took the Blue 'Let Love Sparkle' away with me, but was having to reapply the chips so often, i ended up giving up and taking it off completely and I've only used 'a hush of blush' once as it's just not worth the hassle. In my quest to find the perfect combination of base coat, nail polish and top coat that extends the polish wear, I tried . This base coat is supposed to strengthen your nails as well as fill in ridges, prevent nail staining and provide better polish adhesion. I did find that this base coat is fast drying and provides a smooth base to your polish. One very nice feature of this base coat is that it is a nice nude color. If you have sheerer polishes you will not need to apply as many coats to achieve an opaque look. This also did prevent nail staining. I like the product packaging. The rectangular shape is much easier to hold and open if you have moisturized your hands prior to polishing your nails. Unfortunately I did not see any improvement in polish adhesion in comparison to other base coats. Worth noting is that Butter London is a clean, cruelty free brand and their polishes are “10-free” (free of 10 common toxins). The price point is quite high when taking into account product performance and amount of product in the bottle. I will not repurchase.

This top coat and foundation set, along with the matching probond, has made my nails last for close to a month. It is very easy to apply as you can take your time with it and it will not dry until you cure it. I have found that sticking to one brand for foundation, color and topcoat reaps the best results as their chemical compositions are designed to work together. One… The top coat doesnt smooth out right away when youre curing it. It felt so sticky and wasnt staying glossy. Two… its not real because the cheap products I get an allergic reaction in my fingers. They start to itch and get sensitive. But the next day it was smooth and if you dont put enough the gloss doesnt show as much. I wasnt happy that it wasnt the real product. I was paying $90 a month on Gel nails at the salon…. Now many people find the nail salon relaxing. I do not. The minute I walk in I can’t wait to leave. And they always seem to take forever. And I just don’t care for it. ENTER modelones! I purchased an LED lamp on amazon and this kit and some diff gel colors. And OMG! Perfection. Love love love it. Seriously, give it a try. You just apply the base, cure it under the light. Apply a few coats drying under the light after each one, and then apply the top coat. Boom! All done and lasts 3-4 weeks until grown out and time to do it over. Getting it off is a task, however I have found that an electric mail file does the trick efficiently. I had been going back and forth between gel top coats from Gelish (which you have to wipe off with alcohol after the final coat), dip powder top coats (not gel-like finish) and the polygel top coat from Makartt (the end result was very inconsistent, sometimes it dried off and you wouldn’t need to wipe off, other times it never dried but I did try using this one as a top coat for dip powder manicures so it could be it dries well with polygel only). Then I saw this set on Amazon. The reviews were not encouraging as there were many customers that had purchased other products from the same brand (PH Bond and Primer) that claimed the product had burned through their nail and had caused fungus and the skin under their nails to burn. Personally, this is my first time using this product from this brand and I am in love with the results! This is exactly what I was looking for, a base and top coat I could use for any of the different manicures I choose for the day. Cures with UV light and does not need to wipe off, this came off far more gorgeous than I thought it would look, no secondary effects and the bottles do come with a good amount. They were also relatively cheap (run for around $10-$12 for the set on Amazon). Save yourself the trouble and the money on going for the expensive ones when this brand will do the same for much less. I used a 1 minute cure time with a UV/LED lamp for each layer of base, color, and top coat that was applied. Thin coats are key in getting the polish to last, as is doing the proper prep work to your nails (buffing and cleaning the surface) prior to any application of the formula.The base coat is slightly tacky after curing it, which helps to get the color coat to stick and not shrink. The top coat is a no wipe formula which leaves a smooth surface and a plump and glossy shine. As for the durability, a manicure done with this base and top coat along with an Aimeili color gel lasts for 14 days with minimal wear to the tips and hardly a chip in sight. The only reason this gel polish doesn't get a 5 star is because it is an absolute pain to get off. I can soak it and soak it for what seems like hours and I still have to file it off or scrape with an orange stick. The colours are beautiful, it is easy to apply for a beginner and it doesnt pool at the edges of your nail. Who knows when their overhead mechanism was made. I had the manual and that was no help. So the hardest part was finding the correct setup code [which I then wrote down]. But it does just exactly what it is supposed to do. But do keep your manual. Sometimes a power outage will require a reset. This base coat has kept my polish chip-free for 10 days (haven’t tried to keep it on for longer, though I’m sure it would hold up). Do use pure acetone to remover this though. It has an interesting rubbery texture that doesn’t come off well with non-acetone remover. It will gum up and require lots of scrubbing to remove. Otherwise, it slides right off with acetone. It is (for some uncertain reason) very difficult to find vegan and cruelty free white nail polish out of all of the colors offered, (even harder to find the most non-toxic version), so I was pleased to buy this knowing it is the safest out there and is also from a small, local business. I am always thrilled to find a new, ecologically conscientious and vegan product and this is one is new to me because I only found it recently after trying several other vegan and hypoallergenic nail polishes. As ecologically conscientious is quite often synonymous with hypoallergenic because the basis of both philosophies is to exclude agitating toxic chemicals I am assured the Karma nail polish will not cause my highly sensitive skin any unnecessary agitation while providing me with a mind soothing manicure to realign my mood and psyche without any ill effects on the environment. As hypoallergenic nail treatment goes Karma is putting out pretty colors which did live up to my expectations, causing no allergic reaction whatsoever which assures me that they are high quality and earth friendly because I have had many serious and minor allergic reactions to the overwhelming majority of beauty products but Karma caused no allergic reaction whatsoever to date. I hope Karma will continue to put out additional varieties of hypoallergenic, non-agitating vegan nail polish and although I do not like any face make up more of these hypoallergenic products for the face such as foundation, blush, eyeliner and mascara would allow my neighbor's child, who likes to do other peoples faces, the opportunity to experiment on me for as long as I have the patience to sit through her detailed attention. The other vegan nail polish I have tried is equal in value to this and I would recommend all the vegan nail polish brands with equal confidence, including Karma, Pacifica and Mineral Fusion. I love painting my nails and testing which nail polish will perform the best 💅 The winner is Christian Dior Diorific Vernis Nail Lacquer from limited edition Golden Nights by Peter Philips, creative and image director for Dior makeup. Just look at this wonderful gift wrapping from Christian Dior 🎁The nail lacquer comes in a golden box and a beautiful couture round bottle with a polished brass top with Christian Dior written all around the base. The color is intense red and it is called Red Wonders. The brush is definitely worth a mention. It is a wider brush with bristles that are the perfect length making it effortless to use. I apply 2 coats waiting 5 minutes between each coat. I start from the center of the nail and then continue to the sides. At the end I apply clear coat. Every five days I apply a thin coat of clear nail polish which helps my nails look perfect for 2 weeks. This bottle of 12ml- 0.40fl. oz lasts me 2 months. This nail lacquer makes the surface of the nail smooth and shiny like glass. It also strengthens the nails. The sophisticated, elegant and intense red Dior nail lacquer is perfect for the upcoming holidays. I think it is worth the price.
The scanner came up with a different name, but the name in the title is the correct/ official name of this product. It’s an enamel nail care product in the ABRICOT line that nourishes, whitens and strengthens nails, while adding a beautiful hint of pink (or apricot). It smooths out ridges and imperfections on the nails surface and leaves a subtle shiny finish. It gives nails a natural, elegant look and this is a very pretty light pink color. It will chip or peel if you use it alone, so use two coats and then use a top coat or sometimes I top it with Dior’s Nail Glow for a very pretty effect. It doesn’t have the best ingredients and does have a strong fragrance. I make sure to use a cuticle oil and cream daily to keep nails healthy and don’t wear this all the time. I’ve mostly transitioned to “non toxic” polishes because they are so much better for nail health, but I have so many pretty Dior and Chanel products that I still indulge from time to time. I do recommend this because it’s pretty and elegant, but I wouldn’t wear every week.christine .r
I have many Dior nail polishes, I keep buying them because I love the wide brush. It makes applying them much easier than other brands. I use them with a the Dior base coat abricot and the Dior topcoat. Another thing I like about this brand is these polishes dry faster than many of my other brands (especially the base and top coat). They don't wear much longer than other brands I have. After 3 days the shine has diminished and after 4 days I get serious chipping. My most recent one, Cosmopolite is a beautiful dark cherry burgundy. It is not the purple color shown in the photo. It is a very deep dark rose bordering to a very blue red. If you are familiar with the old classic Revlon nail color "Cherries in the Snow" it is almost identical to that shade. What bugs me is the brush on the Dior polishes do not come down far enough to the bottom of the bottle. This causes you to have to always tip the bottle to get to the last 25% of the polish. This could be completely avoided with a longer brush. Now this is common with a lot of nail polishes, but at this price I should be able to use the entire bottle with no problems.Romery

I had really high hopes for this. I always see it recommended on must have lists and couldn't wait to try it. The blue tint shows through glitters or translucent polishes. I figure fine, use it with dark polishes. I buff my nails a bit before polish so it lasts against nail oils. My nails were stained blue and it didn't make my polish last any longer than a regular base coat and it smells strongly. Pretty disappointing.Amanda
This is the only base coat that has ever extended the wear of my nail polish. Gel manicures from the salon peel off in 2-3 days for me. Sec Vete was a no go. This is pretty great. It was odd to me that it was blue at first but it never shows through the color and for someone who is a little sloppy with polish, it actually helps me see where the base coat is going so that I don't flood my cuticles.Laura
This is by far MY FAVORITE base coat. It's one of only 2 base coats that I will use, but this is my number one choice hands down, every time. I only use the second if this is dried out, the store is sold out or I'm waiting for one to arrive in the mail. It adds days to the longevity of your manicure, a sticky base to lock in your lacquer, incredible durability and it just simply out performs every other option. (Trust me! I used this nail polish for the first time three days ago and I couldn't be happier with the result! For years I have had acrylic nails and have recently stopped because I don't have time to go and get them done with my new baby, so I decided to invest in some new nail polish and boy am I glad I did! I used the JINsoon Power Coat Strengthening Base Coat, followed by 2 coats of the Essie Light Lilac, then the JINsoon Top Gloss Quick Dry Top Coat, and finished off with the Essie Quick-e Drying Drops Nail Polish Treatment and my nail look AMAZING! They actually look like I've got shellac on. And what's even more amazing, they dried SUPER fast! It took me maybe 10-15 minutes to do the application, and then I let dry for maybe 20-30 minutes and they were completely set. I was able to get dinner ready and do the dishes straight away with no denting or smudging! This is a game changer! I'm now on day three and they still look as good as day 1! I was sick of the colours you would get from OPI or the drugstore that just felt a bit too childish – I love pink and purple but I don’t need my nails to look like a kids bedroom wall. This nail polish is what I’ve been looking for! Subtle and creamy this just looks expensive on and is definitely for that ballerina off duty aesthetic everyone’s into atm. I usually redo my nails weekly – this nail polish last for that time. It does chip after that but I don’t use a base or top coat. It’s better than an OPI in terms of chipping for me! 100% recommend.JL2022
