I wanted to use this product for trimming my toenails. I thought the angle would be helpful. The angle was good but the shape of the cutting blades were not good. Too rounded and short. The first time I clipped my nails I was surprised at how easily the Tweezerman clippers cut. They are obviously much sharper than my previous clippers, and I could grip the clippers more easily because of the textured design. After clipping, my toe nails were so smooth I didn't need to use an emery board to round out the rough edges. I got a pair of Revlon nail clippers in 1984 that lasted 30+ years. I recently bought this pair expecting the same level of satisfaction but was greatly disappointed instead. They make a strange clicking noise when being used. They even fell apart at one point! I reassembled them hoping they would be better than before they broke. Unfortunately not. I'm trying to decide if I'm going to buy another Revlon clipper. I'm so sad the quality wasn't top-notch like my first experience.Josie

It is very time consuming compared to regular clippers. It works a lot better as a "finishing touch" after clipping nails with a regular pair of clippers. I would consider it more of a nail filer than a trimmer. It was bought for an elderly person who thought they would really like to have one, but was highly disappointed. It definitely doesn't deserve to be called an electric nail "clipper" and should be called an electric nail filer. And as with most "as seen on T.V.," even if it was advertised as an electric nail filer it would still get some bad reviews for a disappointment; but maybe more than just 1 star. Would suggest you not waste your money if you're looking for something for the elderly (say, like with arthritis) that can't use nail clippers. Oversized nail clippers that are designed for people with arthritis that you find at some drug stores work 100 times better and 1000 times faster.MVPShopper
Was thinking of ordering two – one for myself and one to give as a gift. Am I glad I didn't. The only good thing I can truthfully say about this product is that it does eventually give one's nails a smooth and even edge, Otherwise, the process is very slow and I really don't see much difference between the side that is suppose to trim and the side that files.The major complaint is the "ON & OFF" switch. More times than not, after switching this product off, it keeps running. This morning out of the blue I heard a buzzing sound. After searching for a while I discovered the Roto Cliper had started running on its own. Needless to say, I will not be ordering a second one to give as a gift, nor would I even recommend this product to anyone – friend or foe.Bebe
It is clear from some of the negative reviews that some might think this tool will CUT your nails, it will not, but will TRIM them very nicely, and file them smoooth. I have very thick, strong nails, and didn't have huge expectations that this would tackle them, but when I lowered my expectations of it actually cutting my nail down from long to short, and followed the instructions for soaking the nail first, it worked great (now, instead of soaking, I just use it after a shower when my nails are already soft). This is a TRIMMER, and if used a couple of times a week after a shower, it does a terrific job. I have arthritic hands, and this has made a once difficult task much easier. It does not do the corners of your nails well at first, but once you get the hang of it, and keep your nails trimmed properly, the corners get easier to do. Also helps to keep a very fresh battery in it, bogs down a bit when the battery starts to drain.beebsinnc

May be of good quality, but the finger finger nail clipper clipper is too small. The toe nail clipper needs to be larger and have longer handles, but can be used for finger nails. I was mainly was looking for a good pair of toe nail clippers., Mine are really not all that tough and my wife has trouble using them. Both do open wider than most however. I hope they last.jawny39
