Two five gallon buckets of nails. With breaks, This was an accomplishment for a women who isn't very handy and kinda lazy lol. This thing made it so easy. It knocked about 45% of the nails out completely from the boards but the nails were large ones and my air compressor would not get over 120psi. I believe if I had a better air compressor it would have knocked more completely out of the boards. Even with the ones that did not come all the way out it was very easy to pull them out after the air gun was used.. I was able to straighten the nails that were bent with ease. There were a few nails that went flying all the way across the yard. I did not have the greatest set up as far as my work area but I am a female that does not have a shop. Pleased with how this works. Was a little skeptical when I saw how small it was and how little it weighed. Forget all that, it does what it's supposed to and more. I have a bad shoulder and I still have to pull the nails from the other side but this takes care of half the work. If the nail is bent, just straighten it out as you put the tool over the nail and bend the nail till it's straight and pull the trigger. Sometimes it will knock the nail completely out of the board. I think it works great and my dog (Chinese Crested) hates her nails clipped however she sits for the nail grinder without much fuss. The rough brown attachment grinds down faster but is a little noisier. The stone like attachment smooths and is more quiet. I like this item. The only reason I bought the second one is I needed attachments and it was just easier in this time of limited stock. First I must let potential buyers know that this does not come with a rechargeable USB as indicated in the description. You must buy AA batteries. LOVE IT! We have two Cavaliers with small nails and two Setters with large nails. Worked beautifully on all! Although not noisy at all, the motor running was still a sound the dogs were unfamiliar with so I let it run while giving them some favorite treats. After a couple times of that, they ignored it with the exception of one of our Setters who's skittish about ALL noises so not surprised by her reaction. Took a couple minutes for me to get used to the feel of using it and the dogs too, but then I was able to finish eat dog quickly and easily! Even our super skittish Setter settled down by the third paw which gives me hope that eventually trimming her nails might not be the battle it's been with regular clippers. I think it works great and my dog (Chinese Crested) hates her nails clipped however she sits for the nail grinder without much fuss. The rough brown attachment grinds down faster but is a little noisier. The stone like attachment smooths and is more quiet. I like this item. The only reason I bought the second one is I needed attachments and it was just easier in this time of limited stock. Don’t know what I would do without it because otherwise I would have to make trips to the groomer at my vets office.Snepp
This is crap! I bought this today, and it didn’t even last 3 minutes. The second speed never worked, so i was forced to work with the first that would randomly stop. Until the screw that kept the sanding band on sprung off and cracked the safe guard. I tightened the screw and it popped off again in less than a minute. I’m returning asap and ordering something better.3Dogs

Having worked in a grooming salon and in animal rescue, I'll let a few of you in on a secret. Your dog groomer uses something very similar to this. Hence your dogs nails feeling smooth when they leave the groomer. (Or, they should anyway.) YES, your dog may likely be frightened of this weird, crazy tool. (However unless you're managing to use this all kinds of wrong, it won't hurt any more than filing your nails hurts you.) It takes time and patience to work up to using this with many dogs. The sound and vibration of the tool are off putting. Some don't mind, others do. It's about the dog, and if your dog doesn't like it, I suggest following the instructions a little better. Let me say first off that I don't use this to take length off the dog's nails. I use proper nail clippers to do that, I use THIS to file the rough edges left over. Unless you're using this very regularly, it isn't going to work like the informercial (shocking, I know!!) I deducted points for two reasons. One, I think they could have made the motor a lot quieter on this. Two, it is annoying to change the heads. Otherwise, I like it, and I use it regularly.
The sound of the device is not very loud, though they provide instructions of how to get your pet used to the sound if they are afraid. Thankfully my dog was introduced to the sound and feel of a Dremel at an early age and it no longer scares her, so no issues there. The device is easy to use and convenient but my only issue is that it is not powerful enough on my husky's nails. The device has a built in safety that when too much pressure is applied it will shut off but it takes more than the "correct amount" of pressure to get her nails ground down. It takes too long to get her nails trimmed down because the emory on the rotating filing head is not strong enough. I purchased the devise so that I could grind her nails at home and save money every few weeks at the grooming place but now I have to decide if it's worth the time and effort to do it at home or would I rather pay the money to have someone else do it. It may be a breed specific thing and might be easier on a smaller sized dog. The product is not garbage by any means, but I certainly didn't get what I expected.Silverthorne
Although I purchased this on the recommendation of a friend, I'm not satisfied with the product. The motor is under-powered and often stops when I grind my dog's nails. This is a safety feature, but it is too sensitive when I grind my big dog's heavy nails. PediPaws will probably work for your small dogs. If you hesitate to cut your dog's nails because you are afraid to cut into the quick, this is the perfect tool for you. Grinding them instead is more gentle for your dog and gives you peach of mind about not hurting your dog. The package includes complete instructions and teaches how to introduce your dog to an otherwise scary procedure. My dog had no fear of the grinder at all.FishMom
