I'm a little disappointed with the product. While it does file the nail, it does take a lot of time for it to be done. And it also works best for longer nails as it's hard to get close to the skin with the file. Not really suitable for toe nails that hug the tip of the toe as they grow so will need to continue to use the nail clippers for those. This is my preferred method for trimming nails on newborns as it works so well on little fingers. Only let down is that they do mean it when they say in the manual to “remove batteries if storing for long periods”. We had one for my first son and then stored it away for ~18months before we got it out for my newest baby. It seemed to have eroded inside around the batteries and wouldn’t work anymore hence we purchased a new one. I just received my order yesterday. The scissors are fine but the file is not a quality product at all. I washed it with mild soap and water to disinfect due to covid, and this is how the file looks. There is no option to upload a picture of the file that’s now all peeling. Very unhappy. I saw the same product on amazon for $20 but did not buy it from amazon as they sell a lot of fakes. I did not mind paying extra $5 for the product and extra $5 for shipping but ended up receiving a subpar product. Can not use this file on my baby.R A.

I wanted to buy different clippers, but these were available for next day shipping and the others weren't. Should have just placed a second order with the ones I like (we misplaced ours). Instead of being helpful, the lights are so bright I can't see anything. The edges where there lights are, which are part of what make it safe and help avoid cutting little fingers, make it hard to see if you're even getting at the nail. That, plus the light, makes it unusable for cutting my 2-month old's nails. It's perfectly good at trimming if I'm using it on my own nails so I could potentially give it 3 stars (if the sun spots would go away from the residual bright LEDs). Perhaps someone else would have better luck with it, but I don't recommend it. The Safety1st brand works much better, in my opinion.Kayla
