I may be late to the OPI Mexico City Collection's Spring 2020 release, but at least I finally found that rad yellow creme! With my pale, pink-toned skin, finding a yellow that is saturated without leaning too dark, pastel, or neon — AND has a 3-coat (or less) formula — is a real challenge. I got my hands on this color after stumbling into an Amazon sale (the "Buy at least $20 worth of these selected items, get $5 off" kind? It was the first time I tried it out!) where a few of the OPI Mexico City colors were included. I had heard about this color for a while, and watched nail polish swatchers on YouTube include it in their side-by-side yellow polish comparisons every season, but I could never find it in-stock at a reasonable shipping rate until that sale. Score! As you can see from my photo, it's a slightly lighter yellow, but it works like a standard yellow on my fair skin when compared to darker shades. It pops in just the right way! Plus, its formula is 3 coats maximum for full opacity, which is hard to achieve with yellow polish at any price point. (Don't you hate it when a color of polish is sold as the brand's "standard primary color," only to find out it takes 4 or 5 streaky coats to achieve that color? This nail file is equivalent to a fine grade sandpaper. It does a nice job of filing the nail while not tearing and creating a smooth edge. I find that I don't need to do a final file to smooth the edges. My only complaint is that there is about a 2-3 mm smooth edge around the file. For very short nails, this edge makes it a little difficult to file around nail edges. Overall, this file is light weight and will last with proper care!

With all the spare time on my hands during the pandemic, I decided to put something else on my hands, and began investing time and energy into doing my own manicures at home. I've gotten pretty handy at it! As my skills have grown, so has my need for better tools for the job, so I jumped at the chance to test a free Tweezerman glass nail file and share my thoughts. Firstly, what I love: I am delighted that this product comes in a perfectly fitted protective case. That's so handy! I also love that the etched glass surface holds up to my best crystal file and does not wear away over time. It works well and files smoothly, without the annoying drag of an emory board. What I wish could be improved is that I can't quite tell if both sides have the same grit or different, and I'd love to see a strong difference in grit clearly labelled on either side for precise filing. I'd also like to see this product in fun colours!
As a first time glass nail file user I was eager to give this a try. I couldn't imagine a glass nail file being able to do what an emery board can, but it does! This Tweezerman Glass Nail File leaves your nails feeling super soft with no jagged edges, it is well made, durable & easy to use too! Cleaning the nail file is simple, I recommend using a little isopropyl alcohol and a towel or some cotton balls. It really is that easy! One of my favorite parts about this file is that it is better for the environment by decreasing waste accumulated by disposable emery boards! Just a couple things I feel this nail file could be improved on would be the sharpness & time required to achieve the desired length/shape. Sometimes if I have a nail that's really grown off course I do struggle with the file. It takes a very long time to reach my goal. At this time it requires much more pressure. I genuinely feel if the file was slightly sharper it would alleviate this issue.

This is my favourite nail file and my go to grit. They make a similar one in a curved shape that is my holy grail file. I love it because it shapes my nails in just a few strokes. It is coarse enough that it can be used to file the cuticle and any rough skin that you might have around your nailbed but not to coarse that it destroys your nail. These are very smooth and gentle on your nails and a wonderful product. Light but solid and they come in amazing colour ways, no roughness after using them and the first one I bought over 2 years ago is like when I first purchased it. I can't see having ever to replace it as it will last a lifetime as it never wears out. The texture is okay but not if you have thin or fragile nails. I found it to be highly annoying to have the neon bright color of this nail file transfer to my own nails and imbed the color so deep I had to over-wash scrub my fingernails and agitate my sensitive skin. I gave the yellow orange 1 to my husband and kept other two. Waste of money. I only use when desperate as a backup in a pinch when I lose my Deborah Lippmann nail file.nikki.m
These are mail files. I don’t know they are really better or worse than any other files on the market. I keep mail files with me in bags etc because I use normal polish for my manis and it’s always possible I will have a break I need to file. The neon makes it easy to find them. I think more important than the type of file is your technique. I will probably switch to a glass file as some point to be less harsh on my nailscourtney.j
I have to say I liked these files and disagree with the other reviews. The colour comes off just on the first swipe, after that I didn't experience any issues. The rough side is perfect for a good file and then to follow up with the smooth side, also seemed ideal. I love the fact the colour is bright so I don't have to dig around in the bottom of the bag for ages, and the little case – genius. Nice and sturdy, I would buy again.lilypad

I love this file! I have one at home, one at my office, and a mini in my purse. These glass files leave your nails feeling so smooth. No snaggy edges with this file ever! I use this file for finishing or light shaping. If you're wanting to take off a lot of length, I would still recommend a coarser file for that, followed by this glass file as your final step. Just be careful handling this file…it is glass, and will break if dropped on a hard surface.jennifer.s
Firstly, I ordered this while in the Ulta store. They had no crystal files in stock. The sales person ordered it for me and didn't mention that it was a mini. I ordered it for a six week vacation and to keep in my travel bag. I am trying to use it and getting nowhere. I don't have particularly tough nails but I file and file and file and nothing happens. When I was in the pharmacy for something else I noticed I could get a file twice the size for $4.95 right by the register. I have a crystal file an inch wide and 5 inches long that I've had for years and love! The surface is 1000 times better for filing than this mini. I wouldn't recommend this but if you're looking for something to keep in your purse for one little fix you might give it a try otherwise it's worthless.Denny
