I bought this kit to teach myself how to do my own nails at home. I thoroughly love anything I can do myself at home. My nails tend to crack easily, gel doesn't always keep them sturdy and going to the salon every 2 weeks to get them done (gel or dip) is not in my budget. So I bought this kit to give my nails some strength while also looking great. Plus I suck at polish. I always get it everywhere when using my non-dominant hand to paint. The included instructions are pretty basic and give you a step by step guide that you need to be successful. It also helps that Kiara Sky has a YouTube channel to show you exactly how to do the dip manicure with the starter kit so with the included instructions and YT video, it's pretty fool proof. My first manicure was good, not great but for my very first attempt, I'd say it went pretty well! There are a few tools you will need that are not included in the kit and that includes a buffer block, nail file, manicure sticks and a fluffy brush to brush off excess powder left on your fingers (I used a clean makeup brush that I no longer use and it worked fine). I also like that the kit includes a brush saver to clean the polishes included and extra brush heads incase you need to replace them (This was nice as I pulled the bristles out of the topcoat head by mistake when wiping it off after using the brush saver). This dipping system is a huge YES! it costs exactly the same amount as one professional dip manicure and if you are patient and willing to learn a new skill you will save yourself hundreds of dollars with this investment. Because I do have a track record of painting outside the lines with regular nail polish, I was nervous that this would prove disastrous in doing my own dip. However, the consistency of the liquid bonders etc. are very thin meaning they were incredible easy to control. My recommendation to anyone looking to start doing DIY dip nails is to also invest in a nail drill, and a cheap nail brush (that won’t loose its hairs) to brush access powders. I also purchased nail caps to help ease the process of removing my dip manicures, (I absolutely detest sticking my fingers in a bowl of acetone. I much prefer clamping the cotton to my nails). Finally, the best pro tip I can give is to not worry about going overboard when your painting the liquid steps onto your nails. Recalling how quickly the women at my salon painted on step 1, I attempted to create the thinnest layer I could on my first attempt of my first couple nails. That method proved to be a fail and the dip spread out unevenly across the nail and I had to start over again. On the rest of my hand I made sure to make sure I made a solid wet layer across the nail, and each time I pulled my perfectly coated finger out of the powder I wanted to scream with joy! While this product may look intimidating, it really is quiet easy. I should mention that you can also mix and Match whatever brands of powder you want to use with this system as well. I've never had my nails done at a salon, so I've never had any exposure to the process of gel, acrylic or dip nails. I've just always used plain ol' nail polish, but I'm very active and finally got fed up with even the "best" quality nail polishes chipping within 2 days of application. Enter: Dipwell. Compared to some other kits and brands I've seen, Dipwell is way more affordable. I can't speak to any quality differences among brands though since this is my first ever experience with dip powders. I had to do 2-3 full applications before I feel like I got a hang of the application techniques, so if you're used to getting dip nails done at the salon, this will likely be easier for you (assuming you pay attention to the process)! Even after the 2nd time and still looking a little sloppy in places, it still looked better than most regular nail polish applications. By my 3rd application, I was able to create cute ombre accent nails, so you can learn pretty quickly. One thing to note is that this can get MESSY (or maybe I'm still bad at this…), especially with all the filing and buffing residue. Clean-up is fairly easy, but as a total noob to acrylic systems of any kind, I didn't expect the amount of mess it can create. The instruction pamphlet is pretty clear, but I also watched lots of tutorial videos to get a more complete picture of the process. The colors are beautiful, but I wish there were better swatches and photos on hands on the website, because some colors are not well-represented by the single swatch on the website. I bought this when there was not a build your own option, and was disappointed to find that the naturale colors included were not my style. This is only the second time I’ve done my nails and the first time I used this color so my nails don’t look great. But I’m learning. The purple is very bright and noticeable but still soft and not garish. I paired with black ice glitter for Halloween kinda vibe. I’d say working with the glitter is hard. It doesn’t lay flat. There is no utensil offered by kiara sky to dust on glitter. You either pour or dip. I did see some people use a tiny pharmacy powder spoon they order off Amazon to do the sprinkling on bit. I would recommend that. Otherwise you don’t get much of an ombré effect. It’s hard to do 2 colors fast before the base dries and the powder doesn’t stick. I’m assuming it just takes practice. These are my nails grown out a week. I had to file down the nail area around the cuticle cuz I made them too thick so the color looks lighter there cuz of my file job after I’d already done top coat. I actually really like these. They have so many pros to them. They are really thick, making me feel like they won’t pop off so easily because they’re sturdy. They are super long, giving you room to cut down, but still have that coffin shape or ballerina if you keep them long. Only thing I was weary about was the fact that they are full nail tips, meaning you are supposed to glue them on the entire nail. That seemed like a recipe for disaster to me and pop off city. So instead, I just glued them around the mid-point of my nail and cut them down a little more. They blended in perfectly! Definitely recommend!daisya.r

Ive been doing dip powder mani for a few months. Nails are stronger and grow faster. I usually now have to trim my nails which was never the case in the past. for literal years, i have used the old fashioned tips that just infuriate me. they split, snap, and i fiddle with them constantly! and are NEVER RIGHT. no matter how long i shape them, they are just way to unforgiving… and i own equipment for this! just no. but THEEEESE nails! omg i have found a new life mate and its this exact brand, and shape of nails. i hated square nails particularly, they are so 90's and just cant hold up to the types of acrylic, gel paints, and builder gels that i use. being an ex nail tech. i have had to use plastic tips most of my teenage and adult life, and trust me when i say, they are not all created equal. my misery has finally ended and i can graduate to gel nails and gel sculpting with a lot more ease. the great thing about these is that i can use them as either a tip, or a full base nail if im having a lazy week. they adhere better especially with "kiss powerflex max adhesion nail glue" on a smooth buffed surface(this is important) and a good special priming or base coat (to prevent fungus, this is REALLY nescesary with this type of nail bc they have a high peak.) and then a good bonding agent before application. 5 STARS! just an added warning and prob. the only crucial thing about most clear nails like this is, you cant use an electric file tobuff the surface of the false nail. everything has to be gently hand buffed or they will fracture! otherwise they are strong and last wonderfully:)sprinkles91

I love the idea but extremely hard to get off of the polygel, they need some edges or peices out so you can pop it off easier. Loving the nail shape just not the struggle to get it off or how it toke half the polygel with it. Also may want to work a touch on the flexibility of the nail so it wouldn't be as hard. I have been getting acrylics done every 2 weeks for over 30 years. The pandemic changed that. I tried doing dip and gel at home but found out I had developed allergies to them. I tried a few types of glue on nails with moderate success. I then tried these and man, they are the clear winner. Loving the Natural collection in Kiss products! This brand has made me convert to Press ons. I prefer this style compared to the original french manicure collection. I've been buying these for years. I use the glue they come with and it works great. I glue them on, file and buff the top and they blend perfectly. Everyone thinks my nails are real. I would love if these were available in individual sizes though. Out of the 10 sizes, I only use 4 of them so I end up throwing a lot of them away. For that reason they are a little pricey for me.

I am not a professional manicurist but I enjoy doing my own nails at home. I own a LED light and many gel nail polishes but haven't mastered the french tip look. I went to CVS to purchase the whole artificial french tip nail set but then I saw this kit. I followed the directions, including starting with doing your dominant hand first, which makes sense. I agree with the previous comment…yes, the brush in the gel product dried out right away and became too stiff to make smooth lines. Unfortunately, I had to exchange the first kit I bought because, though it was unopened, the gel brush was missing! I suggest opening the kit as soon as you buy it to make sure all bottles have brushes in them. I'm going to purchases nail polish brushes separately so I always have extras when one dries out. The instructions make it seem like all three bottles should come with brushes but my second kit was missing the brush for the activator. I think maybe you use the brush on the cleaner bottle for the activator interchangeably. I'm a fan and I will definitely be buying this product again.Niters
I did my nails with the white French tip 4 days ago and they're still on and still strong! I have 4 kids and all day I'm picking up toys, upending things and just constantly using my hands and none have broke yet. When I go get my nails done I always have 1 that will break after a 2 days or at most a week! And I pay $60 just for 1 to break so soon. My only complaint about these is you get one wear from each side. Need smaller sizes but you can file them smaller. Just wish more came in the pack. I am buy this again!Bernaybish
I almost returned this after reading reviews elsewhere. But I figured for $14, it's worth a shot when Ulta has a fab return policy. READ the directions IN FULL before you try this. They say to use a clean paper towel after filing for a reason- dust will make your gel look textured and less shiny (and less professional looking). Like another review said, I also wish there were more smaller sizes so that there's less waste, but I think I'll try filing the sides of those tips down to make them work. I used the French tips and filed them to a cute almond shape.KK
