I purchased 1700 square foot of 80 year old 2×6 tongue and groove boards 12 foot to 16 foot long each. This tool was a life saver. I was able to remove all the nails in every board in two days. Two five gallon buckets of nails. With breaks, This was an accomplishment for a women who isn't very handy and kinda lazy lol. This thing made it so easy. It knocked about 45% of the nails out completely from the boards but the nails were large ones and my air compressor would not get over 120psi. I believe if I had a better air compressor it would have knocked more completely out of the boards. Even with the ones that did not come all the way out it was very easy to pull them out after the air gun was used.. I was able to straighten the nails that were bent with ease. There were a few nails that went flying all the way across the yard. I did not have the greatest set up as far as my work area but I am a female that does not have a shop. Be careful because the nails fly out sometimes and hit me in the legs leaving some bruising but again that was my setup.koolaidkm7640
Pleased with how this works. Was a little skeptical when I saw how small it was and how little it weighed. Forget all that, it does what it's supposed to and more. I have a bad shoulder and I still have to pull the nails from the other side but this takes care of half the work. If the nail is bent, just straighten it out as you put the tool over the nail and bend the nail till it's straight and pull the trigger. Sometimes it will knock the nail completely out of the board. Got sick of the heavy steel in my tool bag (not that it can truly be replaced), this little guy is just wonderful to use for most framers and builders. I get it's pricey, but if you're a builder boy is it worth it. I gave it 4 stars, because it was too easy to dent and damage the tip when you hammer it in to grab the nail. Obviously you have to be a bit more careful and shouldn't use it on large nails, but hey I had to push the limit. Otherwise it's a great tool, especially how the support structure has been cut out to make it even lighter.Daween

This tool was designed to be used to fix wire fences. For that it is excellent. I reclam hard wood for making furniture. For this job is it is useful for some nails. I saw videos of it used to remove nails that were cut off. They showed the tool digging below the surface of the wood to grab the nail shank. In soft wood like pine it works but in hard wood you must use a chisel or hole saw to first expose the nail shank before using this tool. I have removed a thousand nails. This is the tool that I go to last when none of the other methods work. I am glad that I own one of theses. I recommend buying it, but it's difficult to use. This was purchased to replace a broken, older one that I bought back in the 70’s. These will easily pull 20d nails in old wood. Quite A feat! It is basically a slide hammer that drives a set of pinchers around the nail head. The pinchers close under the nail head when you pull back on the fulcrum, allowing the nail to be done and be pulled in one slick motion. When I received this tool the paint was already coming off, so I was concerned about the workmanship. Hopefully it won't rust as it's not exactly a inexpensive tool. However, it did work well for me in removing sheets of plywood from an interior wall (with most nails sunken in.) Before finding this tool I was doing a lot more damage to the plywood. Once I got the hang of using it, this tool helps limit the damage to the area around the nail head. Someone recommended a cats paw tool–which worked (for me) on nails that were not beneath the surface. But this nail-puller did better to dig out nails and also worked on smaller head finishing/paneling nails. Overall, I do like this tool though I think it could be updated from it's 'vintage' design. All Tweezerman's products seem to be exceptionally well made. This is a well-thought out instrument that will replace several "tools" I used for so many years. I don't know where Tweezerman has its products made (my guess is Germany), but the workmanship and quality of materials is at par with Solingen. This ingrown toenail file and cleaner came in a sealed container, so I knew it was professional and sanitary. It also has a protector on the file end. It does work, but it is difficult to use on yourself. I think it would work best as a salon tool. It was a good value for the price.

I have used nail clippers for years and they all work, but I hadn't realised that there are different standards of working. Whereas previous nail clippers tended to leave a slightly fibrous edge to the nail this one gives a good clean cut and with far less effort. It is compact and well finished and is incredibly sharp. I used this for less then 1 year and the cutting blade was chipped and can't use any more. I only used this for cutting nails and never use to cut any other materials. Check with Australian Victorinox representative and they said that the have no stock and can't do any refund/repair/exchange. I was sick of having nail clippers wearing out after a couple of uses so I assumed that a Swiss army set would be durable. In this I am not disappointed, they will probably last longer than me. They way they are to be used, with the file resting open on your hand is less convenient than the cheaper short lasting versions; they would be better without the file. I have also found that in less than 2 weeks the bar you press on to cut has started sticking in the closed position after cutting. I still give them a 3 because I bought them for durability and they're strongly made and will definitely last.haynes1214
