I just used this for the first time a few days ago. Wow! I had a nail that was broken so far down and almost all the way across. I wouldn’t have been able to cut it back without lots of pain and blood. I followed the instructions for using this product, and it couldn’t have been easier. Two coats, light buffing, and now you could not tell after polish that there was ever a break. My nail looks great, feels strong, and best of all, I think it will hang in there until the break grows out far enough to make it bearable. Amazing!mariam.b
This stuff works great, I was using it for a year before covid and quarantine hit, when like a lot of ladies, I started attempting "dip nails" at home. Then I realized that it's kind of like dipped nails. So, now I pretty much "dip nail" to repair my permanantly broken nail. Now, back to the Orly nail rescue kit. It does work great, however, you will run out of glue (or it will just get hard and not be able to be opened) before you run out nail repair powder. I want this as an ongoing use for my permanently broken nail. The little nail file that's included is not really needed since we all have nail files at home, and once you use this teeny-tiny nail file, then meh. I've tried using Kiss nail glue with the Orly nail repair powder, but unfortunately, that does't work. So, we flat out need more Orly brush-on nail glue in this kit. It would be more worth the money if it came with 3 bottles of the glue and one little tub of powder for the $10/$15. I wish I could buy the glue separately to use with my extra powder that i still have left over. I've bought a 2nd kit, for more glue, but am still using the powder from kit 1. Let me first say how much I hate my nails! They grow at different rates, they are super weak and the white tips are all different- some go straight across, some are curved, and some are not symmetrical. I'm not a fan of acrylic nails because of how thick they are and I don't like being held to an appt every 2 weeks. This product is so easy to use and works! I like to keep my nails polished because it hides the inconsistencies. I can't believe how strong this made my nails! I was almost going to clip a nail that was about to rip because it was so weak, and that's the day it was delivered! So far, that nail has survived a whole week! I highly recommend this! I also recommend 2 coats. The only thing that might be a con is the amount of glue vs the powder. I'm thinking I will run out of glue way before the powder. I purchased the NailTek Nail Recovery Kit after my nails were slightly damaged from using gel nail polish. I used this product for a few weeks and my nails got weaker and more brittle. I got this in a whim. My nails have been all ridged and flaking ever since the pandemic started. The hand sanitizer and not getting acrylics anymore combined with age and they just look d awful, it sucked. Polish doesn't last and I tried other similar products that peeled or flakes much more easily. I did acrylic nails for a couple years and I had the bad habit of peeling them off. I have used Nailtiques Formula 2 for many years. It absolutely improves the strength and look of my nails. The trick is to use it consistently and follow the directions to apply one coat daily. I make one to three applications a week to maintain the results and make sure I always have this on my nails. I don't wear color polish often but Nailtiques works great as a first coat with color polish as the second. If you are just starting out with Nailtiques I would suggest not using colored polish for the first few weeks and just use Nailtiques to give your nails a good start. I'm only on week 3 of the process, which is a month long, but so far I've absolutely loved this nail strengthener! I've tried tons of other nail strengtheners, including a $25 one, and this is the best one I've used so far. It doesn't tint the tips of your nails or turn them yellow, and it has a very natural sheen–not too glossy. My nails are stronger than they've ever been. I have only chipped a nail once, and that was at my job during the first week of using this strengthener (I work a pretty hands on, physical job). Since then, I haven't broken or chipped a single nail. I plan on continuing to wear this as a base coat or just naturally on my nails once I'm done with the month. Long ago I gave up on my nails, trying to just handle them short to curtail their peeling and splitting tendencies. Last march I had a shellac mani to be fancy for a wedding and it ruined my already quite pathetic nails. After several months of trying to grow out a vertical split that had resulted I searched for something that would strengthen them enough to at least get back to normal shorties. Well, I saw this product and the reviews and thought i would give it a try. I did follow directions to the letter, which helped and it was at a vacation time for me so I could stay on track. After the first two weeks I had never seen my nails so 'non splitty' , and something in this is definitely fortifying them. After the initial two weeks I went into the 2 week every other day schedule, and I went ahead and purchased the soy remover as well. Pros: much 'cleaner' product line than any I see. Virtually no odor or strong smell, makes application pleasant. Products work better than any I ever used on my mid 50's nails! Cons: none yet, and I just ordered from the Labor day sale. This is certainly a handy all-in-one product that can be used as a base coat, top coat, fill-in, and nail protectant. I typically do gel or dip on my nails because they are very brittle and prone to flaking. I apply this product over my 1+ week old dip nails to give them extra shine. This product has a lovely, moisturizing gel-like texture that gives a wonderful shine. However, because it has a thicker, more moisturizing consistency, it takes a very long time to dry so would probably not be ideal as a top coat for regular nail polish. If you don’t touch it at all, the finish is beautiful, but even if you accidentally touch it hours later before it has fully dried, the finish can become texturized and dull. I think this is best used as a nail protectant over natural nails or over acrylic/dip/gel. It is super easy to apply with a generous large brush and (relatively) minimal nail polish odor. I would recommend this product on polish-breaks between manicures. It is also a great all-purpose travel polish. This treatment was super beneficial for my natural nails. I had just removed my acrylic nails at home with a regular nail file and some acetone, so my nails were weak, dry, and a little brittle. After washing my hands after all the abrasive removal, I put on two layers of this treatment and then some cuticle oil after it dried. Not only are my nails shiny and healthy-looking, they also feel a lot stronger than before. My nails have always been a little weaker and textured, but I genuinely would not be able to see that with this treatment on. My nails are also significantly smoother than they were with all the filing I did. I also found the smell to be quite pleasant compared to normal nail polish and acetone, but maybe that was because I applied it after smelling acetone fumes for a couple hours. While I love it as a treatment, I cannot vouch for it as a base coat nor a top coat, This could be a good “primer” for a base coat, but it doesn’t seem sticky enough to be a good base coat that helps polish adhere to it. I also don’t think the texture is quite smooth or even enough to be a top coat which is meant to seal and even everything.grace.c
I have been learning how to do my own ombre nails and nail stamping. It can be a long process to apply the many different layers to achieve the look I want, and it is very frustrating to go through all that work only to smear the polish on a nail and have to start over. Enter Sally Insta Dri Top Coat. This awesome little gem is a nice consistency and goes on nicely – it's not too thin, yet doesn't gloop everywhere either. It leaves a nice shiny, clear color, and speeds the drying process. It also does not soak through the nail stamping sealer coat, so it doesn't smear the stamped designs. I have tried some expensive top coats that permeate through the layers of polish and ruin the nail stamping designs. The best part, this top coat protects my manicure! I wash dishes, cook, do laundry, type on a computer, shuffle papers around, and this top coat protects through it all! As any nail professional will tell you, you must touch up your manicure with a good top coat every few days if you want to prolong the life of your manicure. This Sally Insta Dri Top Coat is perfect for that, too. I just apply a quick top coat every other day before I leave for work in the morning and it is completely set by the time I arrive at the office. Perfect! The initial application was great, went on really well and dried quite quickly. However, less than 24 hours later, 8 out of my 10 nails are chipped, and the varnish has actually peeled off two of my nails altogether! I have been all about nails and nail polish since I was a little girl. What little birthday and pocket money I got as a kid went to nail polish. For the last 12 years, my work has involved working with a lot of paper and a lot of typing. I'm hard on manicures and keyboards. I average 1 key board every 3 years or so. This is probably one of my favourite nail polishes. I love the shade of green and the non-goopy application of it. It’s also lasted longer than any of the other expensive polish brands I own (all the ones that promise no chips for two weeks and then they chip next day no matter how careful you are). I’ve gotten a bit less than a week’s wear out of it, but even now it’s only a couple chips on a few fingers, which is to be expected because I’m a mom of young kids, so I am constantly doing something with my hands and washing them. I see other reviewers mentioning how sheer applications are, which is true, but it just means you need a couple extra coats, which honestly isn’t a big deal; I find that most polishes, no matter how much coverage they give you, need additional coats anyways. I do NOT use this product per the instructions as I found it caused to much dryness when used daily. Once I learned to not overuse, I have significant benefit from using once a week. My process is brush oil directly on nails, allow oil to sit on the nails for a minute, then massage into the nails. Since I do this in the evening, it allows the product to further penetrate overnight. The next morning, I apply solar oil and allow that to penetrate. I got this free about a year ago and will absolutely be buying when I run out. The nails on my ring fingers are thinner than my other nails and used to break frequently, with this they feel just as strong as my regular nails and I can actually grow them out. All of my nails break much less than they used to and only when I really jam them. Love this awesomeness. I’m getting really good (second time using it) getting the hang of doing my apex and getting everything all salon pretty. Until I’m used to the viscosity though I just use tips under it for ease. Totally addicted to this stuff and it’s my first builder gel, only way I’d be getting a different brand was if they didn’t make or have this anymore, it comes with a little book of technique lessons too if your not already in the know either professionally or via tutorials or education- I will say though that I’d have really apriciated some mini samples of oil or something else etc but I mostly buy korean beauty products and they slather you in free samples so I’m used to being spoiled ?. It arrived exactly when and as, works brilliant and fairly easy to use – I played about with how and what I used or didn’t use with it.I’d like it if they had more colours of builder gel (maybe they do but I don’t recall seeing it on the book) I’d like some pinks/whites etc like naio nails acrylic (acrylic and gel are essentially the same) my nails are always super healthy and protected now- I have disabilities that effect my hands so using brushes and so on is extremely painful especially with filling and basically all of it so I like that I can really take my time working with it and knowing it’s not going to dry, set, or tack until I stick it in that lamp. I bought this as a nail strengther and I’m not disappointed. I’m not a professional nail tech, but I am a bit of a perfectionist. The booklet that comes with the product is very informative and super easy to follow. The brush is a perfect size and cleans easily after use, with a little bit of acetone nail varnish remover. I found thin layers and curing in between each worked best. Also holding my hand upside down (nails facing downwards) for 10 secs before curing, helped get it away from the sides of the nails and skin, as well as making it even out. This will easily last me months if I just use it for strengthening, there’s more in the pot than you think. For me it is worth the higher price.Margarete
First of all, I am a beginner and doing nails at home. O have very weak and fragile nails. I have never managed to grow them long and last for ever. Then a gel nail polish came to do the trick. Not quite as the nails steel chipped. I needs a product which makes them hard and strong. I went through reviews and chose something performing badly. This product is exactly what I needed. It makes the nails thick, it makes cracked edges unified and also managed to extend when needed. It is not easy to achieve an even surface but I guess it is cos of my skills. In overall, I am satisfied with this gel. I wish to wait couple of weeks to share how my natural nails are doing after long term using. Good luck and do not hesitate. I just used this for the first time a few days ago. Wow! I had a nail that was broken so far down and almost all the way across. I wouldn’t have been able to cut it back without lots of pain and blood. I followed the instructions for using this product, and it couldn’t have been easier. Two coats, light buffing, and now you could not tell after polish that there was ever a break. My nail looks great, feels strong, and best of all, I think it will hang in there until the break grows out far enough to make it bearable. Amazing!mariam.b
This stuff works great, I was using it for a year before covid and quarantine hit, when like a lot of ladies, I started attempting "dip nails" at home. Then I realized that it's kind of like dipped nails. So, now I pretty much "dip nail" to repair my permanantly broken nail. Now, back to the Orly nail rescue kit. It does work great, however, you will run out of glue (or it will just get hard and not be able to be opened) before you run out nail repair powder. I want this as an ongoing use for my permanently broken nail. The little nail file that's included is not really needed since we all have nail files at home, and once you use this teeny-tiny nail file, then meh. I've tried using Kiss nail glue with the Orly nail repair powder, but unfortunately, that does't work. So, we flat out need more Orly brush-on nail glue in this kit. It would be more worth the money if it came with 3 bottles of the glue and one little tub of powder for the $10/$15. I wish I could buy the glue separately to use with my extra powder that i still have left over. I've bought a 2nd kit, for more glue, but am still using the powder from kit 1. Please, Orly, start selling the glue separately, or add more bottles of glue to the kits. ThanksSparkELisa
Let me first say how much I hate my nails! They grow at different rates, they are super weak and the white tips are all different- some go straight across, some are curved, and some are not symmetrical. I'm not a fan of acrylic nails because of how thick they are and I don't like being held to an appt every 2 weeks. This product is so easy to use and works! I like to keep my nails polished because it hides the inconsistencies. I can't believe how strong this made my nails! I was almost going to clip a nail that was about to rip because it was so weak, and that's the day it was delivered! So far, that nail has survived a whole week! I highly recommend this! I also recommend 2 coats. The only thing that might be a con is the amount of glue vs the powder. I'm thinking I will run out of glue way before the powder. Oh, and the glue twist off cap/brush is great because it hasn't gotten stuck!Kerrkerr
