My daughter bought me this a year ago (by accident – she thought it was the polish). 9-14-20: This review is on the Sally Hansen, Hard as Nails, Vitamin Strength Serum. It took longer for me, compared to other reviewers, to see results. I used only this product on my nails (twice a day) for about one month. I wanted to see if it would work. I was going to give up on it, but I started seeing results. My nails have always peeled and broken easily. My nails are now stronger, thicker, longer and not peeling. I have sensitive skin and this item did not cause any irritation like some nail products do. I have also long used a ceramic/glass file, instead of an emery board, which can separate layers of the nail. The only suggestion I have on the Vitamin Strength Serum is that I think a brush would have worked better. I also wanted to comment on the packaging of item. I like that you can see through the bottle. I have used the "Nail Growth Serum" in the dark gold colored bottle. It works well, but I don't like how you can't see how much product is remaining in bottle. Also, like others commented, I did not like the dropper that bottle has.Lou1

It took me weeks to finally get it in the mail, but I really like this product. My nails are badly damaged from gels and acrylics. The pink color is ok but would not be my choice. It does let me see where it has worn off on the edges more easily though. My nails are easily broken and thin to begin with, so damaged they are very fragile. This is the Orly Nailtrition treatment polish and it retails for $15 at Ulta. This is suppose to be a nail strengthener for peeling and splitting nails. The formula is thick, shiny, and pink. I was hoping for something more clear. Not a deal breaker. It makes the nails appear bright and shiny. I recently wanted to take a break from getting my nails done and had the acrylic removed. I loved this product. Tbh I have completely ran out cause I used it almost every other day. A little story here so be warned: For 20 years I have struggled with anxiety, well with that I had a nervous habit of picking at my nails till they were in the quick. I’ll attach a picture along with results. I found this product through my mom (a nail technician) plus vegan pure multivitamin nail hardener (also at Walmart) I started using these products every other day. I have used other products from this brand and have been very disappointed. This one has left me very surprised. I've only used it twice so far, and it seems to work great. Can I say that I've seen growth within 3 days? Honestly, I can't really tell. However, I have noticed a definite change in my nail strength. Ok so I’ve been trying this for 3 months and I haven’t seen any noticeable difference in nail growth rate. However! I have very brittle nails that break and peel if they get long so I’ve always been on the lookout for something that helps and this works wonders! I keep getting compliments on my nails and how I can actually grow them now. I followed the directions for use as applying 2 coats every 3 days and I haven’t had any problems with peeling or my nails breaking when they get longer. When I was seven or so years old, I slammed my right thumbnail in a car door. My nail was allowed to heal on its own– which was not great. I've used Nutra-Nail protein for years. At first I used it several times a day and then at bedtime. Now I use it a couple of times a week. It does a great job if you use it faithfully. I have read some poor reviews and feel those are the people who did not use it faithfully several times a day or only used it for a short period of time. Good results happen in time. When your nails are bad you will see how quickly Nutra-Nail absorbs into the nails. Once your nails start to improve it will take longer for it to absorb. I got this product as a set which included the Nutra Nail Flex-Shield Hardener. I have to tell you all its perfect! Doing dishes and constantly working with my hands my nails were not in the best shape. After using both of these products I was amazed! It really does work. My nail grew longer over time, also It made my nails stronger and they don't get cracks anymore. If I'm using colored nail polish, I use the Nutra Nail Flex-Shield Hardener as both a base and top coat (which really helps the color last). I recommend this to anyone who needs to repair their nails asap! Great product!
The ONLY thing that works!! Brush on, let it soak into the nails and then go about your day. When my nails have started breaking off or peeling/tearing, I apply twice a day for fastest results. Ive tried a lot of products hoping my nails would stop chipping and breaking. Nothing worked, I even gave in into trying Opi Nail Envy which has formaldehyde, I didnt see any difference on the contrary it made my nails worse. Some of those products truly do make your lips seem more plump, and some of them do nothing at all, and are just like any other gloss or lipstick. Dior products definitely do make lips seem more plump, though, and they have tons of products for plumping. While many cosmetic brands have plumping products, there are few plumping products that are more of a lip balm. Most people want plumper lips, but most people also occasionally want to go without a full face of make up. This balm is the perfect soft pink, and is a product that can be worn to the gym or while running errands, at times when you still want plump lips, but don’t want to wear a full face of make up in order to wear a plumping gloss or lipstick. This pretty pink color is great for all skin tones all lip colors also. If you have lighter lips, you will be able to notice a soft pink tint, but if you have darker lips, it will just made them seem a bit more radiant. Because it is a lip balm, on top of providing slight color and a lot of plumping, it also moisturizes the lips, which is another thing that is rare with most plumping products currently on the market. I'm only on week 3 of the process, which is a month long, but so far I've absolutely loved this nail strengthener! I've tried tons of other nail strengtheners, including a $25 one, and this is the best one I've used so far. It doesn't tint the tips of your nails or turn them yellow, and it has a very natural sheen–not too glossy. My nails are stronger than they've ever been. I have only chipped a nail once, and that was at my job during the first week of using this strengthener (I work a pretty hands on, physical job). Since then, I haven't broken or chipped a single nail. I plan on continuing to wear this as a base coat or just naturally on my nails once I'm done with the month. Long ago I gave up on my nails, trying to just handle them short to curtail their peeling and splitting tendencies. Last march I had a shellac mani to be fancy for a wedding and it ruined my already quite pathetic nails. After several months of trying to grow out a vertical split that had resulted I searched for something that would strengthen them enough to at least get back to normal shorties. Well, I saw this product and the reviews and thought i would give it a try. I did follow directions to the letter, which helped and it was at a vacation time for me so I could stay on track. After the first two weeks I had never seen my nails so 'non splitty' , and something in this is definitely fortifying them. After the initial two weeks I went into the 2 week every other day schedule, and I went ahead and purchased the soy remover as well. Pros: much 'cleaner' product line than any I see. Virtually no odor or strong smell, makes application pleasant. Products work better than any I ever used on my mid 50's nails! Cons: none yet, and I just ordered from the Labor day sale. I currently have the following Nail-Aid products: Biotin Ultimate Strength, 10 Quick Salon Nail Hacks, 1 Minute Artificials, and Iron Shiel Top Coat. I have used all of them on my nails, most recently I used all of them as my manicure.
These products are inexpensive, and you can find them at Walmart and Amazon (amongst others). These products make your nails very strong, and protect them successfully from breaking. I have not had any breakage since I started using them. Previously I used a different nail hardener, but had breakage with that one.

This is certainly a handy all-in-one product that can be used as a base coat, top coat, fill-in, and nail protectant. I typically do gel or dip on my nails because they are very brittle and prone to flaking. I apply this product over my 1+ week old dip nails to give them extra shine. This product has a lovely, moisturizing gel-like texture that gives a wonderful shine. However, because it has a thicker, more moisturizing consistency, it takes a very long time to dry so would probably not be ideal as a top coat for regular nail polish. If you don’t touch it at all, the finish is beautiful, but even if you accidentally touch it hours later before it has fully dried, the finish can become texturized and dull. I think this is best used as a nail protectant over natural nails or over acrylic/dip/gel. It is super easy to apply with a generous large brush and (relatively) minimal nail polish odor. I would recommend this product on polish-breaks between manicures. It is also a great all-purpose travel polish. This treatment was super beneficial for my natural nails. I had just removed my acrylic nails at home with a regular nail file and some acetone, so my nails were weak, dry, and a little brittle. After washing my hands after all the abrasive removal, I put on two layers of this treatment and then some cuticle oil after it dried. Not only are my nails shiny and healthy-looking, they also feel a lot stronger than before. My nails have always been a little weaker and textured, but I genuinely would not be able to see that with this treatment on. My nails are also significantly smoother than they were with all the filing I did. I also found the smell to be quite pleasant compared to normal nail polish and acetone, but maybe that was because I applied it after smelling acetone fumes for a couple hours. While I love it as a treatment, I cannot vouch for it as a base coat nor a top coat, This could be a good “primer” for a base coat, but it doesn’t seem sticky enough to be a good base coat that helps polish adhere to it. I also don’t think the texture is quite smooth or even enough to be a top coat which is meant to seal and even everything.grace.c
I have been learning how to do my own ombre nails and nail stamping. It can be a long process to apply the many different layers to achieve the look I want, and it is very frustrating to go through all that work only to smear the polish on a nail and have to start over. Enter Sally Insta Dri Top Coat. This awesome little gem is a nice consistency and goes on nicely – it's not too thin, yet doesn't gloop everywhere either. It leaves a nice shiny, clear color, and speeds the drying process. It also does not soak through the nail stamping sealer coat, so it doesn't smear the stamped designs. I have tried some expensive top coats that permeate through the layers of polish and ruin the nail stamping designs. The best part, this top coat protects my manicure! I wash dishes, cook, do laundry, type on a computer, shuffle papers around, and this top coat protects through it all! As any nail professional will tell you, you must touch up your manicure with a good top coat every few days if you want to prolong the life of your manicure. This Sally Insta Dri Top Coat is perfect for that, too. I just apply a quick top coat every other day before I leave for work in the morning and it is completely set by the time I arrive at the office. Perfect! I do NOT use this product per the instructions as I found it caused to much dryness when used daily. Once I learned to not overuse, I have significant benefit from using once a week. My process is brush oil directly on nails, allow oil to sit on the nails for a minute, then massage into the nails. Since I do this in the evening, it allows the product to further penetrate overnight. The next morning, I apply solar oil and allow that to penetrate. I was excited when I ordered this at first bec there's a lot of positive reviews. I'm glad I received it in good packaging (although it's not sealed). I immediately used and immediately observed that even after washing my hands, my nails and cuticles still looked oiled (not in an awful way) and moisturized. I was immediately impressed. I just did not like the scent… it is very strong and felt like I cannot use this product anytime outside my home bec the smell is heavy. Amazing!!! The fist oil/strengthener I used that actually made my nails grow!!! (I tried like 5, not a dozen though) My nails were so weak they used to split, and barely grew if at all. No I actually have nails!!! Stronger and more smooth looking. Hope they will grow to be longer, will update. Also, not sure but I think they are more white looking (the tips) than they used to be. The scent is quite strong at first, tea tree smell. After the first few minutes it subsides but still noticeable scent coming from my nails. At first, I was very skeptical about this product after trying the Orly nail strengthener and had little to no improvement. But Nail Envy is a completely different story!! This product is an absolute lifesaver. I have never in my life been able to grow my nails out due to how brittle my nails are. My nails use to fray and snag the second they would get a little growth. You MUST use this product every week for at least two months before the magic starts to happen. I’m so happy. I’ve been using the same bottle for 7 months now and I’m only halfway through. I use it every single week and do 2-3 coats as a base to my nail polish. If you use this product weekly and stick with it, I guarantee you will see major improvement. I have tried several brands of nail strengtheners and I love this OPI Nail Envy Nail Strengthener dry and brittle. I see several comments that say it didn't work for them. Let me say, It does work but you need to use it faithfully. Follow the directions. I apply at least 3 coats and let it dry between coats, then I apply another coat daily (this helps to keep chipping of the polish down) and then I remove all polish and repeat the process about every 3-4 days. The longer your nails grow out past your fingertips the less chipping of the polish there will be and the harder your nails will get as they grow. You must keep polish on them though all the time or they will get soft again.ulyana.s

As someone that has had a nail biting problem most of my life, this stuff is absolutely amazing. The first time I bought this stuff I wasn't so sure it was going to work. But let me tell you, it absolutely does work. My nails are long and super thick now and I owe it all to this stuff. It really does what it says and more. This has been my go-to top coat for years. I love it!!! As long as Sally Hansen makes it, I will NEVER be without it. It does exactly what it says it will do and rivals all higher end formulas I have tried. Actually it beats them! It protects the color of your polish…even white (which is difficult), gives the most beautiful shine, dries fast and adds a protective barrier that lasts and lasts. If I paint my nails on Saturday or Sunday night…usually right before I go to bed – my routine for flawless manicures for years – I wake up and my nails are perfect every single time. I can get anywhere from 5 to 7 days of uncompromised wear when I use this formula. If I'm doing any cleaning I wear gloves (of course!), but other than that through typing and hand washing, etc., this formula hold up. Used as I suggest, you will not be disappointed. Try it in combination with Sally Hansen Insta Dry Polish, but it works well with all formulas. My friends, family and colleagues always compliment my manicures and have all thanked me repeatedly for recommending this top coat. I don't know how Sally makes such great quality products for such affordable cost, but I'm so glad they do. I will always buy their products. * NEED YOUR NAILS TO GROW?!* Soo Ive had this product for a long time and I tend to use it on and off. But recently, I went back to it and now Im like I have to remain consistent with it because IT REALLY WORKS! After having on acrylic nails for a few months, of course my nails became very brittle and weak! They wouldn’t stop breaking and wouldn’t grow at all!! Enough was a enough- I applied on my nails and followed the instructions exactly- “ apply 1 thin coat to bare nails every other day.” I did this for 2 weeks consistently and Literally my nails have become stronger, healthier and the growth has significantly improved! I Highly Recommend this product if you need to improve the health of your nails! I also advise to cut or shape your nails often when needed to maintain good health of your nails (its like getting a trim to maintain your hair on your head healthy) and continue to moisture your hands and nails especially when you are washing and santizing your hands alot!
