My mom had given me a bottle of this , years ago because my nails would get to a certain length (and it wasn't even long!), and they'd break or split , It was driving me nuts I had to keep cutting them short and then it made it look like I bite my nails, when I never have. I fell in love with this product I still have the same bottle that my mom gave me, and I'm pretty sure it was one from when this product 1st hit the shelves. It's been lost from moving here and there so many times I've lost count. But it seems to always reappear when I need it the most 🙂 I know the bottle I have is literally over 10 years old, It's still just as good today as it was the day my mom bought it! Not to mention a little goes a long way! I actually just got done applying it like 3 minutes ago, because when I went to pick something up early I broke off my thumb nail, clear to the tip of my finger 🙁 I've been working hard on keeping them growing and looking nice for a change. BUT I know they're in good ''hands'' now 🙂 and I won't have a problem with my nails breaking just because they got a tiny bit of length to them. Another great Sally Hansen product! I consider this nail product “old school” because it was years ago that I first used it. I’d worn false nails for months. When I got them removed my nails wasn’t hard tho they were long. I decided on this product and it helped my nails become stronger. For the best results apply two coats or three letting each coat dry in between. This hardener is so beautiful with double or triple coats. I an a licensed cosmetologist and had my license for over 50 years. I started using this products on my own nails when you first started making and selling it. These days I can’t seem to find it anywhere! WalMart stopped caring it so I bought it at Walgreens usually 2 or 3 bottles at a time in case they too stopped caring it. Well, I ran out and when I went back to Walgreens they didn’t carry it anymore! This is certainly a handy all-in-one product that can be used as a base coat, top coat, fill-in, and nail protectant. I typically do gel or dip on my nails because they are very brittle and prone to flaking. I apply this product over my 1+ week old dip nails to give them extra shine. This product has a lovely, moisturizing gel-like texture that gives a wonderful shine. However, because it has a thicker, more moisturizing consistency, it takes a very long time to dry so would probably not be ideal as a top coat for regular nail polish. If you don’t touch it at all, the finish is beautiful, but even if you accidentally touch it hours later before it has fully dried, the finish can become texturized and dull. I think this is best used as a nail protectant over natural nails or over acrylic/dip/gel. It is super easy to apply with a generous large brush and (relatively) minimal nail polish odor. I would recommend this product on polish-breaks between manicures. It is also a great all-purpose travel polish. This treatment was super beneficial for my natural nails. I had just removed my acrylic nails at home with a regular nail file and some acetone, so my nails were weak, dry, and a little brittle. After washing my hands after all the abrasive removal, I put on two layers of this treatment and then some cuticle oil after it dried. Not only are my nails shiny and healthy-looking, they also feel a lot stronger than before. My nails have always been a little weaker and textured, but I genuinely would not be able to see that with this treatment on. My nails are also significantly smoother than they were with all the filing I did. I also found the smell to be quite pleasant compared to normal nail polish and acetone, but maybe that was because I applied it after smelling acetone fumes for a couple hours. While I love it as a treatment, I cannot vouch for it as a base coat nor a top coat, This could be a good “primer” for a base coat, but it doesn’t seem sticky enough to be a good base coat that helps polish adhere to it. I have been learning how to do my own ombre nails and nail stamping. I have tried some expensive top coats that permeate through the layers of polish and ruin the nail stamping designs. The best part, this top coat protects my manicure! I wash dishes, cook, do laundry, type on a computer, shuffle papers around, and this top coat protects through it all! As any nail professional will tell you, you must touch up your manicure with a good top coat every few days if you want to prolong the life of your manicure. It was about $10 a bottle at CVS, so it’s comparable to Essie and OPI. I have to say, I really love this polish! I’ve had it on for 5 days now and it’s only starting to chip a little at my tips! It took 3 layers to apply a smooth and finished look. I will say it dried fast and I was rather surprised by that for liquid or polish. I however was not a fan of this color. It really just didn’t look good with my skin tone. Maybe in the summer when I’m tan? But it’s a no for me right now. The actual polish itself held up as to be expected for any nail polish. 2-3 days before I had noticeable chipping. Smell was still the same as typical polish smell, I’m not sure if I thought it would be different because it’s Vegan? All around the polish isn’t terrible. I received the shades 345 Smokey Quartz and 410 Black Stone which are beautiful colors. The purple is light but has a grayish tint to it and shines really pretty and the black is a deep black and gives off a beautiful shine. The polish itself gives off a great color and smooth look but with one coat is just too thin, I did at least two coats to create a good layer and look. This polish is a very runny formula in my opinion so took some patience not to make a mess with it and drying time isn’t too long but the the turn out is pretty good and last a good few days before it starts to chip off. Before the COVID situation I would get a gel manicure every two weeks. And now, I do not see myself going back to the nail salon. This mega formula lasts! My nails stay unchipped for 6 days straight! And when they started chipping it was only at the very tip of the nail! I typically only ever need two coats and I dont use a clear top coat. The colors are so pretty! The brush is super skinny I was worried at first, but it's super good, coverge and application is easy! I take off with regular acetone and comes right off – not sure about the glitter ones because I dont have any glitter colors yet, but I imagine it would take a little more effort to remove as with all glitter polishes. I would definitely recommend this nail product if you also struggle with brittle nails prone to breakage. I use the clear as a base coat (although I wouldn’t wear it alone because it can look a little yellow, which seems to be common with clear coats, but figured I would mention it) and I do notice a difference – almost if my nails feel as if they’ve been more fortified. I would be curious to see if using one of the Mega Strength hardener pigmented shades on top of the clear coat would amplify its effect. I always struggle with painting my own nails in the first place, and I'm always looking for a top coat to make my nails look shiny and smooth like a gel polish but also dries fast. This top coat does just that. Sometimes I even use it alone to give my nails a nice shine. It doesn't stay tacky for very long and covers/smooths out any small imperfections in my base coat of color. The brush is big and wide which allows the whole nail to be covered in two swipes. It makes my nails feel very striong as well. Very nice polish! My only complaint is that the top coat peels off easily, especially around the cuticles. It doesn't take much to get a chip in it which also takes the underneath color off as well. It works well if you're the type to change the color of your nails every week but I like to get as long as possible out of my polishes so it is kind of frustrating. I have been doing nail art for about 3 years now. I experimented with all types of base coats and top coats and found most of them crappy. I figured that Sally Hansen was a well known brand, so I picked their Diamond Shine base and top coat. It was great for a basecoat, because my nails didn't turn yellow after using different nail polish colors. It was even better as a top coat, as it left my nail polish shiny and smooth. I bought this because whenever I paint my own nails, I always get it all over the skin and cuticle. I got tired of trying to use a q-tip and nail polish remover to remove the excess and messing up my nail even more. This has the perfect shape for going around the nail. You don't need to press hard to remover the excess nail polish and it really works. The only thing that was bad is if you use red nail poilsh, it tends to leave remnants of the color on your cuticle. 9-14-20: This review is on the Sally Hansen, Hard as Nails, Vitamin Strength Serum. It took longer for me, compared to other reviewers, to see results. I used only this product on my nails (twice a day) for about one month. I wanted to see if it would work. I was going to give up on it, but I started seeing results. My nails have always peeled and broken easily. My nails are now stronger, thicker, longer and not peeling. I have sensitive skin and this item did not cause any irritation like some nail products do. I have also long used a ceramic/glass file, instead of an emery board, which can separate layers of the nail. The only suggestion I have on the Vitamin Strength Serum is that I think a brush would have worked better. I also wanted to comment on the packaging of item. I like that you can see through the bottle. I have used the "Nail Growth Serum" in the dark gold colored bottle. I bought this product yesterday from Target. For school I can’t have colored nails so I bought this clear strengthening polish. It chips off every 1-5 hours even when I’m not doing anything except typing on my iPad/phone or outside throwing ball. It has protected my natural nails from chipping but the polish chips. I am on the search for the best nail strengthener after a medical procedure made my nails and hair super brittle. I honestly hate doing my nails at home, but if it’s low maintenance and will help my nails, okay fine. This is the third Sally Hansen strengthener I’ve tried, and I’d say jury is still out on which one ultimately is the best, but the diamond strength is nice! With the exception of my pinky finger, as you can see in my photo, you can barely tell where the ANC ends and my natural nail starts. Which is a huge bonus. I also appreciate that there’s a bit of shine to this, since I’m using it alone, but could also be used as a base coat. This also dried very quickly, which is important as I’m busy and use my hands a lot. No smudges!! As far as strength—well, I haven’t chipped my nails since my application last night, but my nails are quite short. And I try to use my nails gingerly anyway. I've have tried Sally Henson's Diamond Strength polish. It is a clear polish that has the typical strong chemical smell. It worked well for about a 3 to 4 days on my nails before I noticed it chipping and peeling. Nevertheless, I did notice a break down in the polish before the end of the 7 days. This could have happened because of improper cleaning of my nails the application. The shine of the nail had a lack of luster after drying as well, it would scuff easily. It was a result of the on the job duties that I performed at the time. But, the shine was easy to scuff. However, I did still notice a break down in the polish before 7 days. This isn't a professional gel polish so it will not have that shine that you might be looking for. And it will not sustain that fresh look for a long period of time but for an non professional, over the counter item it will help support your weak nail for a small period of time. So I rated this item with 3 stars. It's not a stellar product in my opinion but I have definitely had a lot worse. So I gave it an average rating, because of the temporary support it gives to your nail but would but advise that results may vary.rita.w

My first time trying out the Sally Hansen Hard as Nails regular polish I was skeptical. For a price point of less than two dollars I figured it'd be more of an emergency polish. In reality it holds up quite well (I've been wearing the shade 570: Cemented for a few days now). What keeps me from a full 5 stars is the amount of time it takes to dry but so long as you're patient I don't see why you can't enjoy this line of nail color! Can't wait to pick up more.ileana.m
Another excellent colour and formula in this polish. I have the “Molten My Day” which is more of a Dark Pink than a Hot Pink as described. It is definitely a Holographic formula as it shifts from pink, gold, and a beautiful deep orange-gold that looks amazing on my toes and will likely be difficult to take your eyes off of when worn on your fingernails. This colour will look perfect with a summer tan and will also easily transition into fall/winter, which is why I chose this one over the others to try first. As usual, the formula is pretty much opaque with one coat but I find the effect enhances when worn with two coats. It is VERY quick to dry so two coats shouldn’t take any longer than other brands that are more difficult to apply. Nails Inc uses the best brush/applicator I’ve ever tried and completely covers your whole nail in one-two swipes with little going outside of the nail bed since the brush actually “hugs” the nail. The formula NEVER bubbles or streaks and seems to cover nail imperfections easily. Since I’ve been using this brand exclusively for the past 6 months or so (with their NailKale Superfood Base coat, Kensington Caviar 45 Second Top Coat and their Superfood Repair Oil 2-3 times a week on cuticles and fingertips) my nails have stopped cracking, peeling and breaking and have now become very hard and healthydaviana.e
This nail polish is really easy to use and the price is very good for the amount you get. It makes my nails feel really nice and strong after applying. It dries fairly quickly. It is quite durable and doesn’t chip to easily usually. They have so many colours to choose from I really like it. I would definitely buy this again and recommend trying it, I use it with the Sally Hansen topcoat to help it last longer.kimberley .g

This is certainly a handy all-in-one product that can be used as a base coat, top coat, fill-in, and nail protectant. I typically do gel or dip on my nails because they are very brittle and prone to flaking. I apply this product over my 1+ week old dip nails to give them extra shine. This product has a lovely, moisturizing gel-like texture that gives a wonderful shine. However, because it has a thicker, more moisturizing consistency, it takes a very long time to dry so would probably not be ideal as a top coat for regular nail polish. If you don’t touch it at all, the finish is beautiful, but even if you accidentally touch it hours later before it has fully dried, the finish can become texturized and dull. I think this is best used as a nail protectant over natural nails or over acrylic/dip/gel. It is super easy to apply with a generous large brush and (relatively) minimal nail polish odor. I would recommend this product on polish-breaks between manicures. It is also a great all-purpose travel polish. This treatment was super beneficial for my natural nails. I had just removed my acrylic nails at home with a regular nail file and some acetone, so my nails were weak, dry, and a little brittle. After washing my hands after all the abrasive removal, I put on two layers of this treatment and then some cuticle oil after it dried. Not only are my nails shiny and healthy-looking, they also feel a lot stronger than before. My nails have always been a little weaker and textured, but I genuinely would not be able to see that with this treatment on. My nails are also significantly smoother than they were with all the filing I did. I also found the smell to be quite pleasant compared to normal nail polish and acetone, but maybe that was because I applied it after smelling acetone fumes for a couple hours. While I love it as a treatment, I cannot vouch for it as a base coat nor a top coat, This could be a good “primer” for a base coat, but it doesn’t seem sticky enough to be a good base coat that helps polish adhere to it. I have been learning how to do my own ombre nails and nail stamping. It can be a long process to apply the many different layers to achieve the look I want, and it is very frustrating to go through all that work only to smear the polish on a nail and have to start over. Enter Sally Insta Dri Top Coat. This awesome little gem is a nice consistency and goes on nicely – it's not too thin, yet doesn't gloop everywhere either. It leaves a nice shiny, clear color, and speeds the drying process. It also does not soak through the nail stamping sealer coat, so it doesn't smear the stamped designs. I have tried some expensive top coats that permeate through the layers of polish and ruin the nail stamping designs. The best part, this top coat protects my manicure! I wash dishes, cook, do laundry, type on a computer, shuffle papers around, and this top coat protects through it all! As any nail professional will tell you, you must touch up your manicure with a good top coat every few days if you want to prolong the life of your manicure. This Sally Insta Dri Top Coat is perfect for that, too. I do a lot in my life, I'm a mom, I do dishes, laundry, gardening, crafts, etc. My hands get VERY dirty, so I have to wash them probably 20+ times a day, and it makes my my nails get so weak and brittle and they've always been prone to chipping, breaking, etc. but this stuff is so good at sealing the nail with a nice shiny coat! It glides on easily, and dries pretty fast. I've done multiple thin layers and one thick layer and both have worked well. My nails have been bothering me so much that I've had nail hardener on my shopping list for a while now since my nails kept breaking and chipping, but then this came in my mailbox! I mean, it really makes a difference when you see how flexible your nail was before vs. after applying. After having this on for a week, I went to do the dishes and jammed my thumb on the sink handle, and already was reaching for the nail file because I thought my nail broke for SURE! But nope! it held up with this stuff on! I also notice my nails don't get as thin and weak when they sit in water for a while with this stuff, but of course it wears the coat down when you swim or have wet hands for long periods of time. I'm planning on getting another bottle to use on my feet after showers because my toe nails could use some help with cracking too! I absolutely loved this Sally Hansen Advanced Hard as Nails Strengthener. The bottle recommends 2 coats so I did just that. The clear coats gave my nails so much shine they were absolutely beautiful. My nails grow pretty well but easily break on the simplest things. After using the Sally Hansen Strengthener my nails for the first time in a long time have all had the chance to be about the same length because they are now harder thanks to this polish. I’ll start this review by saying I have weak nails. The simple act of opening a jar or a window is enough to chip them, the thumb and index nails especially prone to breakage. The wonky line on my thumbnail (see attached pic) is due to a kitchen window. When I tried ventilating the kitchen, a crescent moon shape tore off my thumbnail like a fedora man tipping his hat “M’lady” over and over. Had to clip the split end and grow the rest out, since trimming it smooth wasn’t feasible at the time. This is the first time in two months I’ve painted my nails. The strengthener is giving me much better luck in keeping my nails intact and kitchen ventilated, so thank you. Haven’t had a nail accident in the last week-and-a-half I’ve used this stuff. This dries pretty fast, but not any faster than other strengtheners I’ve used. Consistency feels a tad watery and slick. My polish is lasting at least a few days longer than it did before, so this works as a decent base coat too. Good product. Sally Hansen’s a solid brand, so no surprises there. Its stringy to apply, the brush is tiny and round, so it doesn't spread the polish well across the nails. I have issues with some of my nails bending, so I thought this would be ideal. How wrong I was! It goes on lovely, although the smell is really really strong. Then the next day I added an extra layer as suggested (a layer everyday for 4 days) which is when I noticed how much has been chipped off already. But I added a layer nonetheless. It is such a waste. White school glue would be cheaper and better. (And who would use that?) Makes a clear plastic like coating that peels off very easily despite cleaning nails with alcohol or soap and water first. Tried everything. The coating gets micro bubbles in it that are unsightly. Didn't last but a couple hrs doing desk work. Won't survive a shower. The nail tips were bare afterward. Never thickened nails unless you count the coating sitting on top of nails as making them thicker…which is true, but is deceptive if you are counting on your nails actually getting thicker and stronger. Very pleased with Nail Growth MIRACLE. Been using it on & off for years It goes on smoothly, leaving a clear shiny finish. I apply it as per instructions, 1 coat every other day. It can be used as a Base coat which I found prevented my nails being stained by deep/rich coloured nail polish. I also use a cuticle/nail oil few times a day for my weak/peeling nails. It made me pay more attention to my nails, like never wash dishes without gloves, not using them as tools etc etc. I file mine “sqoval” (square with softened edges) which I find gives a bit more strength. MIRACLE growth prevents my nails from peeling which enables them to grow. It’s a bit pricey for a Sally Hansen product hence 1 star removed. Overall a very good product. If I can’t afford my all time favourite nail strengthener ,this is my 2nd choice. Yes ,I’d recommend it to a friendFoxy
I absolutely love Nailgrowth Miracle and recommend it to anyone that has problems with growing their nails due to splitting/breaking and general slow growth. Because the top layer of your natural nail is buffed away it leaves them incredibly week, soft and damaged. As someone that has had a nail biting problem most of my life, this stuff is absolutely amazing. The first time I bought this stuff I wasn't so sure it was going to work. But let me tell you, it absolutely does work. My nails are long and super thick now and I owe it all to this stuff. It really does what it says and more. It's a little expensive but very much worth every penny. I promise you will not be disappointed! (My mother-in-law always thinks I have fake nails on but I promise you I don't!
