I'm no pro but this spackling is just as it's name says … very lightweight and performed well on minor dings in the wall that was filled. It is easy to use and doesn't appear to become dry and hard after one use. The lid is pretty airtight. This product is amazingly easy to use and cleans up great. I was able to make a repair without calling in a Pro. It looks great and was so easy to use that it was actually kind of fun. I haven't painted over it yet but it seems that if you wait a day, sand it smooth and then put a second layer to cover over any imperfections, this product should stick to itself and look like a professional job. I got this sample of wall filler just after having a broom "accident" that put a hole in a wall. Perfect timing! When I opened the little container I immediately noticed differences from the old fashioned wall filler which I have used many times over the years. The old style plaster was similar to ready mix concrete in its consistency. You would press some in a hole, wipe off the excess, give it a day to dry, and repeat to fill the depression left when the plaster dried. The consistency of the new wall filler product immediately made me think of marshmallow fluff. It is so light I thought for sure all the air would squeeze out while I worked with it. It is not air mixed in. The filler stays lightweight and fluffy even after having been worked around a little bit. It also has zero noticeable shrinking. I will be able to paint right over the repair and the hole will be gone, leaving the landlord none the wiser.ITestStuff
ONETIME Spackling Review Okay, this stuff is so easy to use. Just like the container claimed. I had a nail hole in our drywall that had gotten larger over the years where it would no longer hold the nail. I also have a hole in hallway drywall from the pressure of a baby gate’s rubber ring. So, I obtained this Red Devil Onetime spackling stuff. As you can see in the before and after pictures; it looks nice. Pictures do not show that it is flush with the wall but it is and dried perfectly. Now I will say it took me a couple tries to smooth it down with the little spackle puddy thing I bought because I am no pro, but I did get it down. Have a few more nicks and dings to fill from over 20+ years of kids before I paint but wanted to get my review up here before I got busy and forgot to do it. Y’all know how that goes I’m sure. This stuff dried quickly and is hard a rock. It has not cracked or shrunk any at all. I’ll be using on the outside of my house next. Stuff I previous bought cracked and pulled away from the edges. This Red Devil ONETIME spackling has not done that so I am looking forward to using outside and see how it holds up. This is not good spackle-type compound. It is way too dry per what comes out of the tip…then it dries up and is impossible to get any more out of the tube in the proper way. When I cut into the tube, the stuff that came out was runny, watery, and bad. This spackle will not squeeze out at all!!! First of all the foil would not come off so got plyers and still could not peel off so just poked a hole through foil. Then the spackle was way too thick to come out the hole. Yes I kneeded it before hand and tube seems soft enough but seems like the top (where the foil cover is) is maybe dried up, like too hard to squeeze out. I needed something to patch a hole left by a doorknob being pushed into sheetrock so I went searching and found this 3M repair product. I wasn't sure about the consistency or how it would dry but I was pleasantly surprised with the results. It's almost clay like but looser than that and it went over the hole smoothly. It covers up to 5 inches and luckily I didn't need to use it all. I already sanded out the rough parts and painted over the spot (and added a doorstop) and it's nearly inconceivable to the naked eye. I have used a variety of patching materials over the years, but almost exclusively chose the bottle type of containers, thinking that was the best option around. After using the 3M Large Hold Repair, I don't think I will ever go back to any other type of patching brand/container. Patching four holes took less than a minute and produced perfect results. The product says it is mainly for larger patches, but I can definitely say it works great on small ones too. Although you can use your finger easily, having a flat edged patching tool does make the install much easier and more consistent. All around a great product.amy348
There were some bathroom accessories installed in my bathroom- towel racks, towel holder and toilet paper holder- that I did not want anymore. When I went to take them out they left large holes in the wall from where they were screwed in. These were definitely bigger than just paint over holes! I was thankful to have 3M high strength large hole repair fiber reinforced sparkling compound on hand! The compound is not overly sticky or thick and easily filled the holes. I really love how easy it was to use. With it going on pink and dries white takes all the guess work out of knowing when it's dry. I have 3 boys in my house so there's always some kind of accident happening. We had a hole in our hallway that had been there for months and we finally fixed it and you can't even tell anything happened. It went on very easily and with only one coat. Our home was built in 1983 so my husband and I are constantly trying to upgrade/remodel and this helped out when remodeling the bathroom. In my bedroom I had a wall of mirrors and some of them had broke so it looked bad with those missing so we took the rest down and of course that wall was now a wall of holes. I was able to use this to fill all the holes without ever knowing there were that many holes in the wall. It has a mild odor but nothing too bad. My only negative that I have about this product is that I had to use a flathead screwdriver to get the lid off and that was still hard. I would definitely recommend this and would continue using this.

I love this product, it really does work but I'm not happy with the sealing ability of the container lid. Every time I purchase this, it somehow dries out even if I make sure to close it properly. They need to redesign the lid to make it absolutely air tight, otherwise it becomes a unusable after some time. I would even like to see this come in tube form with an elongated nozzle (for easy application) as the possibility of it drying out is far less.

Went on with ease, just needed a brush and it was no problem.
Used it to fill some hairline cracks in my condo walls from foundation movement. I'm far from a professional and Its amazing how it fills so precisely its almost magical!! Easily smooths over with puffy knife after application. Very easy to use and results have been spectacular especially after painting. One warning is make sure to have PLENTY of fresh air flow into your house when using. Its odorless but trust me its strong stuff I got minor headaches right after using it first two times in a row (even with a window open) and I never get headaches. Used it for third time tonight but with both windows AND front door open and no headache. Just get enough fresh air and its a fantastic product.

Used to fill in holes that previous owner didn’t properly fill & repair, use to fill in large holes left behind by large hanging hardware, and for small simple holes left from picture nails. Very easy to manipulate while applying. You can sand, it needed very minimal sanding or a damp wet sponge to smooth out. After drying & painting you cannot see repaired area. Used to fill in small holes in the siding from hanging hooks. Advise to not sand this type of repair just spread with damp wet sponge as to not cause sanding marks to undamaged areas of the siding. Again once dried was able to paint with a simple dab to cover holes. Only con but it’s for all products like this, if not stored properly it will dry out.Mysweet4
Glad I got this Red Devil Vinyl Spackling because we just had a mishap in our rental home where the chair next to the wall in the living room needs to be spackled before the landlord visits. This spackle goes on very smooth but is thick enough to cover the entire area. I’m happy that it comes in a reusable container because there are actually a lot of cracks that I didn’t really notice until after the mishap with the chair and we’ll be using the spackle to fill those in as well since winter’s finally on its way and it’s best to have these things completed before the cold times. I've used this in the past extensively for repairing holes in my drywall at my house. Recently drilled three holes in my ceiling trying to install a TV cable, but couldn't get it installed so was left with three holes in my ceiling. Got the Red Devil Spackling, took a putty knife, pressed it into the holes, smoothed it out, let it dry, then touched it up with some old ceiling paint. Holes are gone, ceiling looks great. Got some on my ceiling trim, it is easily cleaned up with water and, when dry, can easily be sanded and painted. If you are painting your walls and/or ceilings, I would highly recommend making this your first purchase to get the surface in perfect shape before applying paint.BadNarc
