This product is difficult to cut unless you have a fresh blade cutting against something hard otherwise it tends to tare. The rolls weren't perfectly straight but it wasn't too hard to correct for it. Be aware, I put this under 3/4" oak and the floor does make some noise from moving slightly. It does help with noise for the room under it but I'm concerned that this moving will turn into squeaks at some point. I'd recommend really thinking how much a slightly quieter room below is before using this product. It's not a bad product, just know the use case.Tim
I am building a complete new home with a ballroom in the upstairs. I wanted to minimize the transmission of noise to the downstairs so used this product under the ballroom floor, but the installers liked it so much in general that we put it under the floor in the downstairs too. It holds together well without warping, snagging, or tearing, and lays flat. We also used short pieces for temporary entry "rugs" to protect completed portions of the floor. They caught & held dirt well and stood up to this abuse well. Very good support from the manufacturer! I was using Steico not for the first time. We did not glue or tapped anything, just laid the boards and installed snap vinyl on top. It comes in boards and in my opinion, it is easier to handle compared to rolls. Installed for over two months now and the flooring feels very stable and quiet. There was a little bit of green dust during the installation, we vacuumed the whole thing and it was not an issue anymore. Overall, happy with the choice and would recommend it.YP
