I have purchased several wigs from Vogue over the past few years, and I've bought more than one of this style. The texture and quality make it my very favorite! It is unbelievably realistic with the look and feel of real hair, whether you wear it straight or curly. I always trim bangs on mine and typically trim off some of the length for a little more layered look. The highlighting is so natural that I've had several people ask me who does my hair! I wear this almost every day and regular washing helps keep it soft and reduces fraying on the ends. I've also found that using a curling iron or flat iron will also help with some of the fraying on the ends. This wig also has a very natural monofilament top which allows the hair to lay very nicely no matter how you part it. Nora is a delightful fluff and go style with waves and almost curls. I got it in color 38, which is light ash brown with grey. It is supposed to be light ash brown with 25 percent grey (it seems a bit more than that;) It would be nice if Paula Young had at least one style featured in this color. The ash brown is very close to my natural color (a bit lighter) but Nora has more grey than I do personally. Nora arrived smelling absolutely wretched; I almost gagged when I opened the box. I had to wash the wig immediately. I used Paula Young shampoo. I thought I detected the (fumigant?) odor even after the wash, but when Nora dried, she no longer smelled. When I first put her on after she'd dried she was not pretty and the curls were mashed against the cap. I shook her vigorously and then took a wide tooth comb and really brought the fibers up off the cap. I wasn't rough, but I was deliberate in going over the entire wig to revive the fibers. I was able to achieve a style very similar to the catalog photo. In my photos, Nora has a more shag-like appearance, but once on she can be fluffed to the rounded silhouette of the catalog photo. Nora fits my 22.25 inch head comfortably and could be adjusted to go even a bit larger, or smaller. I find the fibers dry to the touch and just a bit coarser than my own very fine hair (although Nora's fiber does not look coarse.) Nora is comfortable to wear and an adorable style that goes with dressy as well as casual outfits. If you are prepared to spend a few moments waking Nora up after you first get her home, I think you will be pleasantly surprised at her fluff and go versatility. When this DANCE wig and COLOR ME EXQUISITE wigs arrived, upon removing them from the box they were cute, and the colors were pretty and the best thing they had going for them, However, they didn't look much like the ones the models in the pictures wore. And there is too much perma tease or "fluff" to them. They had really no style to them at all. Especially in the front, just couldn't do much with them. And didn't want to try since being careful with them is a must when trying them on. Very disappointed with these wigs. In my humble opinion they were not great and not keepers. So I am returning them and probably won't buy anymore wigs again. I am completely disappointed with my purchase. I ordered two of this wig because I really like the look of the style in the picture. The wigs I received will not comb into the style shown. The top is spiked and will only stand straight up and the bangs stick straight out and will not lay nicely against the forehead. I tried to tame it down with wig spray and hair gel but it won't lay down. The top hair stands straight up and the bangs stick straight out. The wig will not comb into a nice smooth pixie like the picture shows. I would not recommend a person buy this wig unless you want spiked hair that stands straight up at the top of your head and bangs that stick straight out at your forehead. Bought this piece because of the reviews online. They were pretty spot on so far. The curls are very bouncy, pretty, and full. I have only worn her once and received lots of compliments. My only qualm is the amount of hair. I had to do a little thinning before I felt it looked good. But even though there is a lot of hair, the piece is very light weight which has been true to other reviews. I don't use the combs but it has ample head room, big head friendly; and comes with a long comb up front and a smaller one in back along with two adjustable straps, pretty standard these days. I didn't do much fluffing of the curls because one that I cut out, I pulled it loose and separated it. The bouncy curl really pulled out to a loose wave. I won't mind that after a few more wears. The color was spot on to my hair color. I bought a #2. After wearing the half wig, I wish I had gotten the full wig instead. I just think the curls, after they drop or are pulled out, will be nicer on the full wig. It was a great purchase thus far and I do recommend it especially for those that have the creativity to do many styles with a half wig. I've played around with a few styles, staying mostly with bobs, which was close to my hairstyle before chemo and I was comfortable with. I decided to take the plunge and go for a shorter, easier style and came upon Advanced French. Ordered in a lighter color (RL 14/22, Pale Golden Wheat) as my own hair is mostly white and a golden blonde. The wig came and it immediately seemed to brighten my face and is a very youthful style, not that at 64 yrs. I want to look like a kid, but every little bit helps. I had it on when the husband came home from work and he didn't have to say anything for me to know he approved. Its fun, easy and for a short style, has some styling options. Just received my Big Deal in Shaded Biscuit. She was out of stock for a while, so I jumped on this order when she became available again, and I'm so glad I did! The fibers are silky soft with los of swingy, natural movement. She's comfortable and can go from daytime to evening easily. Big Time and Upstage are about the longest lengths I'll wear; anything longer jus doesn't look like me. I'm petite, for reference. Also, I have only brushed this wig upside down before putting it on. I recently received my Becky, and was so disappointed. The color was beautiful, but the hair was wild and straight. It looked like it had been harshly brushed out, and was very dry. I shook it , sprayed it with PY conditioner, but had to cut some bangs and wear it anyway, as I needed to return the beautiful, long Gayle, as it was too long and young looking for me at 74. I have worn PY wigs for many years due to thinning hair, and have only had a few disappointments, but lately have had with problems. I tried washing the Becky in PY shampoo, and conditioner , but the hair remained the same.Judy
I was so excited for the curls. I was sad to see her a little fuzzy around the top. The light blonde colors are a bit shiny. I tried to fix her with dry shampoo but that didn’t work. If you love curls, then Becky's the girl for you! She's surprisingly lightweight and cool. She has a beautiful lace front that is not itchy at all and a mono part. I got Becky in the Swedish blonde which is a rooted color. It's beautiful and what you see in the picture is what you get. I've been a wig wearer everyday and all day for the past four years and can tell you that this is a great wig and the price is fantastic! I have a 21" circumference head so am a petite average and the fit and coverage is perfect for my smaller head!!! This makes me so happy as so many wigs are just too large for me. I would tell you to NOT comb through this wig but simply finger comb through and loosen up the curls when you first get her out of the box, otherwise you will definitely look like a "doll head." This is my first time purchasing hair online. The process was easy too. The hair arrived on the day as expected. I ordered the hair in the color #2 which actually matched my natural hair color perfectly. Unboxing the hair, it looked exactly like the model picture. It looks even more beautiful when you gently finger-comb the hair and even as it gets older. I've been wearing the hair for about 2 1/2 weeks now, it's still good baby. I call this my Beyoncè hair because that’s who I feel like when I put this on. I love it so much and have received many compliments on it. My only issues are that there are only two combs (front and back) so I had to sew an additional comb on each side to make sure it was secure, it does tangle easily (two days of wear and it’s starting to look matted, but I did comb it out like a ***** when I first got it), and the tracks are scarce on the cap, which made it difficult for my to blend my real hair w the wig to make it look natural(hence the combing) but I finally figured it out. I adore Voltage! I first got her in SS11/29 Shaded Nutmeg, but I have warm olive (green) skin, and the overall reddish tone of the wig clashes, so I almost never wear her. But she fit so well and was such a lovely style, I decided to buy Voltage in a color I would actually wear. I got the R511G – Gradient Charcoal. She's so pretty, but for some reason, this wig doesn't seem as full or as long as the SS11/29. If it were identical but for color, it'd earn 5 glorious stars from me. If I wasn’t experienced in wearing wigs, this would have been a really frustrating and disappointing purchase. As soon as I took the hair out of the box, the ends seemed really tough and frizzy, to the point where the comb gets stuck. Because the quality is so poor, I ensure extremely gentle combing but somehow one of the tracks has already broken within the first 1-2 weeks. The **** are that once you tint the lace/add makeup and cut your baby hairs, the hairline blends really week and looks realistic. If you’re more of an expert at tailoring your own wigs then this isn’t too bad, but you won’t be able to wear it for too long because of the quality. If it was cheaper like the original price in the US then I don’t think I would have minded as much.Danielle C.
I am obsessed with this wig! This was my 3rd time ordering, but my first time getting a wig installed for daily wear. When I tell you!!!! It doesn’t feel heavy on my head. It’s a tad tight, BUT I think that’s because I’m not use to wearing one daily, not because of the make of the unit. The color is EXACTLY what I expected and is a perfect summer blend I love that it is a side part too because I love doing a clipped back look behind my ear (will make it easier to wear my walkie at work) I thought it was gonna be too long but I actually love the length! I got this in a 99J. The color is so pretty and the curls are gorgeous this is one of my top five favorite wigs. It is curling synthetic wig so it tangles at the nape of the neck. Also the swoop of hair in the front hangs in my eyes unless I use a bobby pin, isn't a big deal. In this picture I haven't cut the lace close enough. I cut it closer and now the hairline looks very natural. However, for me, the pre style the wig comes in is way too young. I'm a 50 year old woman and a ponytail style like this makes me look like an overweight, elderly Pebbles Flintstone. It's not a cute look on me. I’ve purchased 3 of these units. While super cute, they have a short life due to tangling. As you know, synthetic fibers thicken as they experience friction against your clothing. This is already a thick unit —particularly the hair in the back. So, after just a few wearings, the tangles are bad and the density almost feels unmanageable in the back. I have purchased this wig from you many times. It has always been my favorite and I have received many compliments when wearing it. So when the website said ‘final sale’, I wasn’t concerned because I was so familiar with this style. But when I put it on, it was not the usual fullness. The ends were so thin that they didn’t style! I called customer service and was told it is a different manufacturer and no return because it’s a final sale. Now I have to spend another $50.00 to get it cut and styles just so that it’s wearable. I really like this Raquel upstage wig. Lots of ways to style, love the lace front, mono top and the color I chose. Shaded ice pumpkin spice. Plus it's heat friendly. I washed it once so far and put a clip on the back wig tag and hung it upside down in my shower, it dried quickly. A personal choice for me was to use got2be in the black tube to hold also a velvet wig band to prevent slippage. I would definitely buy it again, but I'm also wanting to try Untold Story by Raquel. I also like the color firey copper. Use only products made for heat friendly synthetic wigs and a round air brush on low to style. I would give 5 stars but the lace ftont doesn't lay flat without a bit of work and got2be glue.Cathy
I absolutely LOVE Upstage Petite by Rachel Welch. It is perfect right out of the box. I won't even get bangs cut in this one (and I always wear bangs – LOL). The texture is soft and the density is just right. The color is beautiful (Iced Mocha). The cap size is very small – even for a Petite. I had to loosen the straps all the way out, otherwise it was too tight. But, I do have long hair that I wear up in a mesh wig cap – so maybe it would be OK for someone with very fine short hair.Erin W.
