Unfortunately doesn't last all day and can appear smudged by the end of the evening. It is much better than Just for Men beard dye though, and if used for touch ups the product can last a few months. For a few years I've been using more perminent beard dyes but no matter what shade I used it came out a bit too dark and unnatural looking. I saw Volt and thought I'd give it a go. It was brilliant. I ordered two different shades (mud and toffee browns) because I wasn't sure what would work for me, but I've found using both together worked well as it gives a really natural mix of tones. I wear a mask at work, so it does rub off a bit during the day, but the bottle is about the size of a cigarette lighter, so I just throw it in my bag and touch up a little when I take my mask off. I also play a lot of sport and I've been impressed by how well the colour stays with sweat. Finally, one of my favourite features of the product is the ability to show a bit of grey. As I said earlier I've been dying my beard for a few years now and I'm getting to the point where I want to slowly reveal my grey to the world. With regular beard dye I can't do that, it's either all colour or no colour. I'm getting older, sooner or later I'm going to look silly with solid beard colour. Volt is the great solution to this problem. My grey is also patchy and asymmetric, Volt let's me me add more colour where it's needed and evens things up nicely. One downside. It is not a dye and behaves more like mascara, which means you lose all the color when you wash your beard at night. It only takes a few minutes to reapply in the morning, but I can see me accidentally rushing out the door one day with all my grey on show. Not the end of the world, but if you're maintaining a certain allusion with your friends, it may end up being your big reveal. Honest Amish is a legit company that knows what they're doing. They've been in the beard game probably longer than anyone. That being said… Purpose: I purchased the extra grit beard wax because my beard is curly and short to medium length. I tend to get many stray hairs so without trimming too short I have to manage these hairs with beard wax. This is where the extra grit beard wax comes into play. I did notice having a more "groomed" appearance when applying this extra grit beard wax. If you have wiry or coarse hairs this may be for you if you haven't found success elsewhere. Feel: I definitely can feel the high quality ingredients used into this product. I appreciate the all natural ingredients. The grit feels like sand mixed in wax. The sand is fine so the wax isn't hard to manage. I didn't find it difficult to warm up the wax in my hands and rub/spread it into my beard. Scent: They say this has a subtle "spicy" scent to it but I just don't get that. Maybe my nose is just off. It's not bad but it is not good either. I have used NFM Touch of Gray mustache and beard for over 10 years. This is the new formula and it has much better control of how much you want to darken and cover the gray, without looking like a fake mustache or beard. You do have to find your personal balance, but that can be done by increments of reapplications, until you get your timing down. It's also easier to apply, because there is no premixing of the ingredients. Got in shower the first time, rinsed, looked in mirror thorough shower curtain and it looked like it had worked. Shampooed and got out to find no color change at all. Thought it might have had to do with type of shampoo I'd used. Waited 24 hours and tried again. Rinsed and looked past shower curtain to find no color change again – s=despite not having used shampoo at all. This is a lovely wig. I love that it's thinner and hand tied. I'm not a fan of the ear to ear lace. It tends to stick up around the ear tabs and you can see it. I've tried glue but it just cakes up on the lace and doesn't work anyway. I wish I had gotten the regular julianne with velvet ear tabs. I am so glad I tried the light version in the julianne before paying a ridiculous amount of money for the carrie light and realizing the lace ear tabs are terrible. If you have hair thinning or loss anywhere in the front, this will not work for you as you'll be pulling on those vulnerable hairs if you have any, yet it won't be enough to hold the piece in place safely, nor can you use adhesive on thinning hairs. Obviously the 3 front clips won't be of use if you have no hair in front; aybe you could remove all the clips and use adhesive instead if you have no hair. For me, with thinning hair, this was unworkable. I was excited about this item, but was left disappointed. Trying to be fair to the store, I kept the items (I bought two) rather than ask for another return. I shouldn't have kept them.Gerri
I have bought several regular January's in the past, and have always thought they had too much permatease, but would repurchase it because it is closest to the style and color I am looking for. This was my first January Hand Tied. I am pleased to say that it is exactly what I was hoping for. The best part is that there is NO permatease, which had always made it too hot to wear in the summer, and now I don't have to worry about wefts showing since there are none. The lace front on mine is fantastic in the color 14/25 – the highlighting and knotting is the best it's ever been. It is much less tiger-striped looking than it had been about 5 years ago. The hand tied January also has less density than regular January, so I only thinned it slightly in spots compared to my major thinning of regular January. Both versions of January tend to be less shiny than the straight versions of synthetics, which is a plus for me. You have to use it very sparingly for it to appear natural. Lots of applying and removing and applying again to get the right effect. Unfortunately doesn't last all day and can appear smudged by the end of the evening. It is much better than Just for Men beard dye though, and if used for touch ups the product can last a few months. Best used on 2-3 days stubble. Apply using baby wipes to get the best result as it absorbs the dye well and makes it look naturalshelteringsky1980
i purchased this product thinking well its inexpensive so why not give it a go. it was well worth it, personaly i think less is more with this, using a little it hides some of the grey and dosent look false. it lasts for a few days is easy to apply and remove. my wife says it makes me look ten years younger, i defenately recommend this product and will be purchasing more soon.banditscutter
Hi, I have been using this application for a few years now and wouldnt be without it! I started growing a beard about 4 years ago I initially used just for men dye and tried a few other dyes but I always got a harsh reactions on my face and had to stop using them! I then found this and found it easy to use and have never had a skin reaction since! I would say my only gripe is the cost of around a tenner, but then again it says it lasts a few weeks but it I manage to get a few months from the product!reilly9764

I love Jon Renau synthetic pieces in the colors 6 and 8/32. I have about 8 toppers and wigs in these colors. I purchased Bryce in color 6 and the the fibers felt terribly dry, crunchy and tangled. No matter how much silicon spray I used I just could not get these fibers to become manageable. The monofilament and stitching is also different than all of my other Jon Renau pieces. The monofilament is shiny, the knots are thicker, the lace folds and bubbles. The only good thing is the cap is not as massive as some of the other more recent wigs they’ve released. I’m petite-average and I could comfortably wear this wig. I am really hesitant to try any of their new styles after this complete waste of money. It’s just a mess and unwearable. I’ve never felt this way about a Jon Renau piece.Amy
The fibers in this wig are really dry…. I had a hard time with the bangs and mine wasn’t even close to the styles shown. The wig just kept shedding even after washing it. I have never had a wig shed so much. I’m not sure if it was a defect in the manufacturing or if that’s how they all are. Just wasted over $200 on a wig that I will never wear. Customer service wouldn’t do anything about it since I had washed it.Caryl
I was so excited for this wig. I own over 15 other Jon Reanu wigs in the same color – caramel ribbon and the color does not match any of my others, not even close. It is extremely brassy. Outside the color, the wig feels extremely dry and tangles a lot. It just doesn't feel like the same quality of the other Jon Renau wigs I own.Melissa O.
