Well, I finally learned my lesson. I cannot purchase clearance items any longer since every time I have, there has been something either wrong with the wig (manufacturing) or something I didn't like and there are no returns. There wasn't anything wrong with this piece. She just had way too much hair and the fibers were so dry they were like straw. It is a beautiful warm color but the density, the permatease and the dry fibers made this difficult to pull off. I thinned it out and tried to tame the permatease but it just didn't work. Plus, the fibers were like doll hair and so that was a dead giveaway. This was the third JR piece and all have pretty dry fibers. Is this normal? I did receive the piece quickly and as always WS1 is around to answer any questions.E.N.
I am a first time buyer, trying to figure out what fits and how to wear the wigs. I ordered 3 wigs in this first order, and two of them I can adjust and work with. But "Gwen" has very short hair and it looks nothing like the pictures! I had it on my head for a few seconds and couldn't stand the very short hair with no shape at all. In all fairness, I only had it on my head a few seconds and took it off right away, I didn't try to make it look better, afraid to ruin the chance for return. It might be ok for someone else, but at 62 yrs old and plus size figure, that little wig was not even funny! I filled out the return label for "Gwen" but keeping the other two, with medium length hair: "Blushing Beauty" Wig by Gabor | Mono Part GL16/27 and the "Salsa" Wig by Raquel Welch | Large Cap R14/88H Golden Wheat. Those two are a bit large and I need to learn to adjust the tabs in the back, and I also need to figure out from the videos how to "style" them with my fingers so they look good for me. This is a cute summer wig for someone who doesn't want permatese. It's low density. I got 22F16 there is not enough dimension for me but I do feel someone looking for a well made no permatese, low density piece would be very happy with it. I did have lots of thick hair & I like some poof on top.I was going to give it away but it is growing on me using dry shampoo,piece out & hair spray. Even tho it's symmetrical you can achieve a asymmetrical look with some tucking. I have noticed many reviews/comments on various pieces that I feel expectations are often unrealistic. Let's face it we all don't look like the beautiful ladies,Eileen,Marlen or Taz much less the models. I have found often if I think I don't like something if I change my makeup,color I'm wearing wait a few days,wear it around the house,often one I thought I would send back grows on me. Also often they just need a bit of tweaking with a small trim here & there to make it my own. I imagine very few can just take most of them out of the box with INSTANT SUCCESS ! Even I expected it at 1st & being a Master Stylist (retired) should have known better. I guess what I'm trying to say to all those who are new like me is to be patient.S N.

When I saw a picture of this wig, I thought to myself "finally!" This is the style I have been looking for for a while, short, straight, not too much hair, an Ignite but with a longer back. Unfortunately, this wig has a very small cap. It cannot possibly be average size. Average size fits usually lose on my head and this wig I could barely squeeze on. Secondly, it has no lace front. I am too used by now to wearing a lace front monofilament to feel comfortable wearing a wig without. I guess this is what you get for the price. The color and the fibers were great, but I had to return mainly because the cap was far too small.Mimi
The biggest problem I found with this wig was the fit. Average was too big, but petite felt too small. I have a Goldilocks size head and I found the ear tabs on the petite were way too high on my temples, but the front and back fit ok. I bought it on sale and thought I would take a risk even if it wasn’t perfect (and it’s not). The hair itself is good quality and appears to be well made and the style is very cute. I only wish there was a better way to buy wigs other than to pay upfront for an online item, only to find out it’s not quite right. It seems if you can try on hairstyles virtually, there should be a way to try on wigs virtually. If you could upload a photo or enter the dimensions of your head and then try on virtually, you can get an idea of where the ear tabs will fall, for example or how long the bangs will be. It would save a lot of time and money on returns. Eventually, someone will invent it, but until then, buying wigs online is a crapshoot. I prefer to buy locally, however most wig shops don’t carry a very large variety and if you buy the same wig through a wig shop, it will cost double.Vee B.
-1 star for how easily it tangles and sheds; I recommend wearing the hair down over updos because of it -1 star for how chunky highlights are at the part which are unconcealable +1 star for cap and hairline In my pics, I have not plucked the hairline, but I have straightened the wig and rearranged the part. The cap on this wig is definitely better quality than my cheaper amazon wigs (I like that it has velcro straps), but the hair itself both tangles and comes out more easily than my cheapy $30-50 wigs, which is unfortunate. I'd recommend not even bothering to try to do a half updo with this wig, which I'm personally disappointed by but that's okay, it looks good down. The lace came pre-cut, not sure if it was supposed to, but it fits perfectly and blends right into my pale skin, which is great. Hairline is great, pretty natural looking. I ordered the color FS4/33/30A Midnight Cocoa – the highlights are so chunky right up into the part (see pics). Doesn't matter which way you part it, you have giant stripes in your hair with this color (not too noticeable from straight on or from the side but I disapprove still haha). So I would NOT recommend the colors with highlights like this one, just get a solid color. So overall, I wish I got a different color, but that's on me. The silver shade is gorgeous and the rooting is beautiful. It will probably be one of my top favorites to wear out of my 60 wigs. The hair is silky and natural with great movement. The only one thing I dislike it the top band which has a velvet material, for some reason ittitates my skin. I think over time it will soften or maybe I will get used to it. I received my Wren just before christmas and have been wearing it for about a month now. I needed to do some altering to make it wearable. It was very thick at the bottom so I thinned it abit jus from half of the lenght. I also made the part more visible by pulling out some hair. I notice this wig is very set, and not easy to style in different ways like I have done with other wigs. It has turned a little frizzy after a months wear. The color is r14/26h. I do like this color as a light brown/blonde. I do not like that there is not a slightly darker root and I do think that the alternative a root 4 is too dark for me. My solution is to make root with rootpowder. Works fine, but I would prefer a wig with root in color around 10 for this wig. All in all wig is ok, but nothing more. I will wear this wig still, but not a favorite I will reorder.Betsy

There wasn't anything wrong with this piece. She just had way too much hair and the fibers were so dry they were like straw. It is a beautiful warm color but the density, the permatease and the dry fibers made this difficult to pull off. I thinned it out and tried to tame the permatease but it just didn't work. Plus, the fibers were like doll hair and so that was a dead giveaway. This was the third JR piece and all have pretty dry fibers. Is this normal? I did receive the piece quickly and as always WS1 is around to answer any questions.E.N.

I filled out the return label for "Gwen" but keeping the other two, with medium length hair: "Blushing Beauty" Wig by Gabor | Mono Part GL16/27 and the "Salsa" Wig by Raquel Welch | Large Cap R14/88H Golden Wheat. Those two are a bit large and I need to learn to adjust the tabs in the back, and I also need to figure out from the videos how to "style" them with my fingers so they look good for me. I got 22F16 there is not enough dimension for me but I do feel someone looking for a well made no permatese, low density piece would be very happy with it. I did have lots of thick hair & I like some poof on top.I was going to give it away but it is growing on me using dry shampoo,piece out & hair spray. Even tho it's symmetrical you can achieve a asymmetrical look with some tucking. I have noticed many reviews/comments on various pieces that I feel expectations are often unrealistic. Let's face it we all don't look like the beautiful ladies,Eileen,Marlen or Taz much less the models. I have found often if I think I don't like something if I change my makeup,color I'm wearing wait a few days,wear it around the house,often one I thought I would send back grows on me. Also often they just need a bit of tweaking with a small trim here & there to make it my own. I imagine very few can just take most of them out of the box with INSTANT SUCCESS ! Even I expected it at 1st & being a Master Stylist (retired) should have known better. I guess what I'm trying to say to all those who are new like me is to be patient.S N.

This is a lovely wig. I love that it's thinner and hand tied. I'm not a fan of the ear to ear lace. It tends to stick up around the ear tabs and you can see it. I've tried glue but it just cakes up on the lace and doesn't work anyway. I wish I had gotten the regular julianne with velvet ear tabs. I am so glad I tried the light version in the julianne before paying a ridiculous amount of money for the carrie light and realizing the lace ear tabs are terrible. If you have hair thinning or loss anywhere in the front, this will not work for you as you'll be pulling on those vulnerable hairs if you have any, yet it won't be enough to hold the piece in place safely, nor can you use adhesive on thinning hairs. Obviously the 3 front clips won't be of use if you have no hair in front; aybe you could remove all the clips and use adhesive instead if you have no hair. For me, with thinning hair, this was unworkable. I was excited about this item, but was left disappointed. Trying to be fair to the store, I kept the items (I bought two) rather than ask for another return. I shouldn't have kept them.Gerri
I have bought several regular January's in the past, and have always thought they had too much permatease, but would repurchase it because it is closest to the style and color I am looking for. This was my first January Hand Tied. I am pleased to say that it is exactly what I was hoping for. The best part is that there is NO permatease, which had always made it too hot to wear in the summer, and now I don't have to worry about wefts showing since there are none. The lace front on mine is fantastic in the color 14/25 – the highlighting and knotting is the best it's ever been. It is much less tiger-striped looking than it had been about 5 years ago. The hand tied January also has less density than regular January, so I only thinned it slightly in spots compared to my major thinning of regular January. Both versions of January tend to be less shiny than the straight versions of synthetics, which is a plus for me. The Jon Renau regular synthetic fibers last longer than the other brands I have tried as well.Brahm

This would be a great wig if only it had more hair in the back. The dark lines on the wig cap show through allowing everyone to know I are wearing a wig. Why would they put dark lines on the cap of a wig that is white or blonde in color anyway? It is also shorter than the measurements shown on the website and the wig will not stay in place, it keeps riding up on my head so I am constantly pulling on it to keep it in place.Marilyn W.

I like the cut and color (Oyster) of this wig. It's easy to wear (once my stylist trimmed the bangs away from my face). The lace front however, has dark spots that are visible to others in daylight. Therefore, I'm wearing this one at night only. FYI, I recently bought a Raquel Welch Classic Cool (in R61 Palest Pearl) too, and its lace front does not have that problem.Olivia B.
This adorable bob is so fun and perfect for summer. It's my first blonde wig so I decided to try the 12FS8 Shaded Praline. I usually wear brunette colors and the dark root is a easy way to transition to the blondes! Ignite is SO SOFT the HD fibers are beautiful and not as much shine as the regular synthetic fibers. I have not used any heat on her yet because the cut is so perfect the way it is. Ear tabs are a little short on me and this only matters because I have a shaved head so I like the coverage, but the style frames the face in a great way that it works. The cap construction all in all is comfortable and cool to wear. I want to get Ignite in more colors because it is just so cute! Highly recommend it!Joanna A.
I bought this wig in venice blonde and the blonde looks so natural and pretty! Not much a fan of rooted but was only blonde they had left. Hope they get more in. It fits nicely with a wig cap and i did apply heat at 250 to straighten the bangs and sides so it would look longer. I absolutely adore this wig I can finger style it and it looks like my own natural hair! I wish they had the sides cut the same length though guess they were giving us some sexy. Thank you to the cutomers that posted pictures of their wigs on, that sold it for me they all looked wonderful with the wig, so natural. Mine does have some short hair sticking up on the top back but I’ll spray it down. I have purchased 4 wigs here and sent them all back but as soon as I put it on I thought Im keeping this one I love it!!!!! Im 58 have thin hair that drives me nuts so this is my fix!!! This wig is the style I wore my hair in my earlier thicker hair days. Love this!! They get some blonde colors back in Im going to purchase another one. I've been waiting on this color for awhile. This style is modern and flattering. Very trendy and youthful for any age. You can wear it right out of the box. The silver shade is gorgeous and the rooting is beautiful. It will probably be one of my top favorites to wear out of my 60 wigs. The hair is silky and natural with great movement. The only one thing I dislike it the top band which has a velvet material, for some reason ittitates my skin. I think over time it will soften or maybe I will get used to it. The overall cap is lightweight and comfortable. It is a stunning edgy wig and I think it is well done.

I received my Wren just before christmas and have been wearing it for about a month now. I needed to do some altering to make it wearable. It was very thick at the bottom so I thinned it abit jus from half of the lenght. I also made the part more visible by pulling out some hair. I notice this wig is very set, and not easy to style in different ways like I have done with other wigs. It has turned a little frizzy after a months wear. The color is r14/26h. I do like this color as a light brown/blonde. I do not like that there is not a slightly darker root and I do think that the alternative a root 4 is too dark for me. My solution is to make root with rootpowder. Works fine, but I would prefer a wig with root in color around 10 for this wig. All in all wig is ok, but nothing more. I will wear this wig still, but not a favorite I will reorder.Betsy

So cute! Ok I am new to all this. Thinning and receding hairline all my life has now led to patches of balding (hereditary). I tried the top wave hair piece but the clips left my scalp red and so sore. So I researched for weeks. I actually purchased Heidi, Rachel and Julianne made by JR. Heidi had weird bangs for me and the permatease in the crown made my little head look too big lol…Rachel so comfy but wayyyy too much hair for me..Julianne I just didn’t like the style on me…but love it on others…Mila! Adorable! I am still In search of the perfect blonde. I got the Laguana blonde . I am a very light natural blonde. However, the roots are still so harsh for me as my roots don’t come in so dark like that so for this reason I mixed in my own bio hair at hairline..but even so…I LOVE IT! Waiting for honey syrup and 24b22 blonde to come in and try them for Fall. The wig cap doesn’t itch, it’s very secure:) I get so many compliments. I did use dry shampoo spray for shininess. It’s beautiful..my hair is not normally this light as the Laguana color is but that’s okay. I will switch it up with a darker blonde Mila for Fall:) I have tried many and I keep coming back to Mila:) p.s. In this picture I blended my own hair in the front and sides as well:)Angie
For anyone deciding between the petite and regular size, here is my experience: my head measurements are 13.5in (average) 21in (petite) and 12.5in (child!). The petite was snug and did not give me the coverage I wanted at the hairline near the ear. The regular was roomier. It gave me the coverage I wanted at the sides of my face, but the ear tabs do rub up against my ears. In this case, I definitely preferred the extra coverage and am willing to live with a slightly too large cap. Very happy with the color, length and style.
Another beautiful wig by John Reneau! The only problem for me is that it’s too much hair, and it wasn’t the right color. I bought it in the Malibu blonde, however it seemed too ashy. I may try it in the Laguna blonde, now that I found my favorite blonde! It will probably work perfect if I have it thinned out a bit. Overall gorgeous waves and length!

This is my very first wig and it’s everything I was hoping for! It fits perfectly and the color is gorgeous (12FS8). My hair is short but this wig is how my natural hair looked when it was long, my husband even said how much it looks the same. It’s comfortable, fits very well, the hairline is extremely well done and natural looking. I have a widow’s peak and being my first time wearing a wig, I need to play around with it to figure out the best way to part it but it parts easily so I think I can figure it out. I’m torn on the star rating for this wig because while I’m not in love with it, everyone who sees me wearing it is. The good: I ordered the new color “frost” and it is fantastic. I couldn’t find many pictures and reviews for this color, but let me tell you: it’s the stuff Pinterest boards are made of. A warm chocolate root with cool silver lilac ends that read a violet platinum in some light. It’s grey hair, but the opposite of matronly. The length is also fantastic. It’s got the glamour factor of long hair even though it’s really more medium in length. Neutral thoughts: this wig has volume. Depending on how you feel about big hair that could be a pro or a con. I found myself constantly twirling it back to tame it’s natural urge to look like I’d just had a beauty queen blow out. That’s a great look if you’re dressed for it, but a bit awkward if you’re trying to be a bit more casual. I didn’t understand what people were talking about with “permatease” until I met this wig. The bad: I’m not a fan of the hairline- to me it feels very bold and straight which impacts the believability. The hair itself was a bit tangly at the ends and I don’t love the fiber texture; it has a plastic feel. All that said, I can’t wait for the opportunity to wear this out. I’ve no regrets because this color is so unique, but I wouldn’t order this same wig again in a different color.M
This is really just such a nice wig. It simple – in terms of the way it looks and any possible fussing one may think they have to for with any other. I just believe it’s always ready to put on and feel good, kinda makes me feel put together – yet quite SIMPLY and with EASE OF WEAR. Love it’s basic features of the lace front and moon part which are almost necessities for me if I’m gonna wear it out anywhere. Since I try my absolute hardest to wear a wig (as I really need to) around-the-clock, I always love when I have a wig like ‘Miranda’ to put on and like I say, feel put together.

The Carrie is the only wig I should ever own. I have had metastatic breast almost 5 years. I have had chemo 2 different times in 5 years and lost my hair twice. I was always afraid to spend the money on a human hair wig since I thought I might not make it. I sell real estate to support myself and I needed to look nice and polished. I wore the same synthetic wig and bought a new one every 2 months because it just did not hold up. Two months ago I was diagnosed with a brain tumor due to the metastatic breast cancer and had to shave the back of my hair due to surgery and radiation. I finally had several coupons and before Christmas bought a human hair Carrie wig. It has been beyond beautiful! I feel like a whole person when I wear this week. It has increased my self confidence and brought some sunshine back in my life. I am 55 and the Carrie wig is so pretty I actually get treated so much better by every one I have had contact with. The wig looked pretty great straight out of the box. I got a lot of compliments, which was great cause this was my first wig and I was really nervous about it looking too wiggy. I blend the lace front with my natural hair line and it looks pretty realistic. However, the wig came in way lighter than I was expecting and I plan on dying it darker. I order it in 12FS8, expecting it to be a dark blonde/ light brown and it was straight up yellow-blonde. The highlights, lowlights, and rooting are really nice and give it more of a realist look, but I still needed to dye it darker to be able to blend my hair line with the lace front. The first weekend I wore it I got caught in a rain storm and the wig frizzed super bad. I tried using some product to smooth it out (trying to avoid heat styling as not to damage the hair) but it's still pretty frizzy. I'm sure a flat iron can fix it, so I don't think its a huge deal. All in all, I'll probably buy again if I don't find something better.Chris
I recently received “Carrie” in Palm Sprngs Blonde. The wig is beautiful, versatile and light. Mine dried naturally with nice waves. It’s the most comfortable wig I’ve worn. This is my first human hair wig; I’ve been wearing synthetics for 3 years. Based upon my happy experience, I’m planning to invest in a longer, more expensive human hair wig next. One note: human hair wig colors will tend to be warmer than their synthetic counterparts and what shows for the swatch online. This human hair wig is a little darker and warmer than my synthetic wigs in Palm Springs Blonde, but Jon Renau makes a shampoo called In Tone Violet that will cool down the warm tones. I was thrilled to receive the Camila style in my most perfect shade. This auburn is the exact shade of my bio hair. That is why I gave her three stars. I am very disappointed to have to start my search all over because Camila's lace is extremely scratchy on my size 22 head. She felt so tight and painful I had to take her off immediately. The lace hurt my skin while the fit gave me a headache just from trying her on. In my opinion this would work best on a smaller size head. I have tried many other average size wigs in my search for my perfect piece and not one was as ill-fitting as this one. I really hope the manufacturer changes the lace they use for this piece. I have purchased inexpensive wigs for custome parties that had better quality lace. I also did not like the way the hair itself felt. It was not as soft as many of the other styles I have tried are. I am not sure if maybe I recieved a defective piece. As I started my wig journey I purchased a few inexpensive pieces that had much softer fibers. It truly saddens me to give such a harsh review to such a pretty style and not be able to wear her! I will be returning her. Unfortunately now I am weary of ordering another piece from this brand.
This is to correct the review I just did on 2/02/22. I didn't click on the five stars so I don't know how that happened! It took putting clips on the bangs for a couple of weeks with some product before they started to respond. The top is flat with no movement and so far I haven't had much luck trying to get some separation or movement in it. The blonde color is perfect! 22-1001-R8. The back is also cute but if I can't do anything with the top, it will be a loss. This is not a heat defiant fiber but if anyone can tell me how to get some shape and movement on the top, so it isn't completely flat, I think it would be a really cute wig on. I'm a petite/average and there is some bag in the cap so not a perfect fit for me.Carolyn L.
Purchased in the ginger brown. To me it mostly looks like a medium brown and I don’t see much ginger. I do want to say that for a basic Wig, this is very realistic and natural in both look and feel. It is the perfect shortcut that you wish your natural hair would always do. Bouncy, layered, stacked, with a perfect shape that stays in place. I think it’s really super cute and realistic especially if you purchase it in your natural hair color nobody would know it’s not your real hair. It feels very soft like real hair. It also has a real flirty look to it. It reminds me a lot of Sweet talk by Gabor. Fits me nicely and I have a 23 inch head. Highly recommended.Emily

Although the 'hair' is not as thick as I am used to on my wigs, this is a cool, easily styled, pert, and comfortable wig I am most happy with having. I am a new customer to your site and happy with my Evan. So many styling options. Very edgy but yet professional. Many videos make shorter wigs look so artificial but definitely not this one! I purchased Annette again in July and returned it because the quality was no longer the same. The hair was flat, flyaway, and had no body. I returned it and ordered 2 of Evan, which I also wear. I kept the 2 Evan wigs, however, I wished I had returned them. They too are flat, flyaway and just don't have the body my other ones did. They also are too big and don't fit my head the way all the other ones did. It took a lot of product to get them to look half way decent. It is apparent to me, that Jon Renau has found a different supplier and it is not a good one. Will no longer be purchasing this brand, which is a shame, as I have always liked them.Bob B.
