This is a lovely wig. I love that it's thinner and hand tied. I'm not a fan of the ear to ear lace. It tends to stick up around the ear tabs and you can see it. I've tried glue but it just cakes up on the lace and doesn't work anyway. I wish I had gotten the regular julianne with velvet ear tabs. I am so glad I tried the light version in the julianne before paying a ridiculous amount of money for the carrie light and realizing the lace ear tabs are terrible. If you have hair thinning or loss anywhere in the front, this will not work for you as you'll be pulling on those vulnerable hairs if you have any, yet it won't be enough to hold the piece in place safely, nor can you use adhesive on thinning hairs. Obviously the 3 front clips won't be of use if you have no hair in front; aybe you could remove all the clips and use adhesive instead if you have no hair. For me, with thinning hair, this was unworkable. I was excited about this item, but was left disappointed. I have bought several regular January's in the past, and have always thought they had too much permatease, but would repurchase it because it is closest to the style and color I am looking for. This was my first January Hand Tied. I am pleased to say that it is exactly what I was hoping for. The best part is that there is NO permatease, which had always made it too hot to wear in the summer, and now I don't have to worry about wefts showing since there are none. The lace front on mine is fantastic in the color 14/25 – the highlighting and knotting is the best it's ever been. It is much less tiger-striped looking than it had been about 5 years ago. The hand tied January also has less density than regular January, so I only thinned it slightly in spots compared to my major thinning of regular January. Both versions of January tend to be less shiny than the straight versions of synthetics, which is a plus for me. I adore Voltage! I first got her in SS11/29 Shaded Nutmeg, but I have warm olive (green) skin, and the overall reddish tone of the wig clashes, so I almost never wear her. When I saw a picture of this wig, I thought to myself "finally!" This is the style I have been looking for for a while, short, straight, not too much hair, an Ignite but with a longer back. Unfortunately, this wig has a very small cap. It cannot possibly be average size. Average size fits usually lose on my head and this wig I could barely squeeze on. Secondly, it has no lace front. I am too used by now to wearing a lace front monofilament to feel comfortable wearing a wig without. I guess this is what you get for the price. The color and the fibers were great, but I had to return mainly because the cap was far too small.Mimi
The biggest problem I found with this wig was the fit. Average was too big, but petite felt too small. I have a Goldilocks size head and I found the ear tabs on the petite were way too high on my temples, but the front and back fit ok. I bought it on sale and thought I would take a risk even if it wasn’t perfect (and it’s not). The hair itself is good quality and appears to be well made and the style is very cute. I only wish there was a better way to buy wigs other than to pay upfront for an online item, only to find out it’s not quite right. It seems if you can try on hairstyles virtually, there should be a way to try on wigs virtually. If you could upload a photo or enter the dimensions of your head and then try on virtually, you can get an idea of where the ear tabs will fall, for example or how long the bangs will be. It would save a lot of time and money on returns. Eventually, someone will invent it, but until then, buying wigs online is a crapshoot. I prefer to buy locally, however most wig shops don’t carry a very large variety and if you buy the same wig through a wig shop, it will cost double.Vee B.

The cap on this wig is definitely better quality than my cheaper amazon wigs (I like that it has velcro straps), but the hair itself both tangles and comes out more easily than my cheapy $30-50 wigs, which is unfortunate. I'd recommend not even bothering to try to do a half updo with this wig, which I'm personally disappointed by but that's okay, it looks good down. The lace came pre-cut, not sure if it was supposed to, but it fits perfectly and blends right into my pale skin, which is great. Hairline is great, pretty natural looking. I ordered the color FS4/33/30A Midnight Cocoa – the highlights are so chunky right up into the part (see pics). Doesn't matter which way you part it, you have giant stripes in your hair with this color (not too noticeable from straight on or from the side but I disapprove still haha). So I would NOT recommend the colors with highlights like this one, just get a solid color. So overall, I wish I got a different color, but that's on me. Well, I finally learned my lesson. I cannot purchase clearance items any longer since every time I have, there has been something either wrong with the wig (manufacturing) or something I didn't like and there are no returns. There wasn't anything wrong with this piece. She just had way too much hair and the fibers were so dry they were like straw. It is a beautiful warm color but the density, the permatease and the dry fibers made this difficult to pull off. I thinned it out and tried to tame the permatease but it just didn't work. Plus, the fibers were like doll hair and so that was a dead giveaway. This was the third JR piece and all have pretty dry fibers. Is this normal? I am a first time buyer, trying to figure out what fits and how to wear the wigs. I ordered 3 wigs in this first order, and two of them I can adjust and work with. But "Gwen" has very short hair and it looks nothing like the pictures! I had it on my head for a few seconds and couldn't stand the very short hair with no shape at all. It looked like a hedgehog, The color is nice, but this wig is too small, too short hair for my plus size figure: Gwen Wig by Jon Renau STRAWBERRY BLONDE AND WARM PLATINUM BLONDE BLENDED & TIPPED W STRAWBERRY BLONDE NAPE (27T613F). In all fairness, I only had it on my head a few seconds and took it off right away, I didn't try to make it look better, afraid to ruin the chance for return. It might be ok for someone else, but at 62 yrs old and plus size figure, that little wig was not even funny! I filled out the return label for "Gwen" but keeping the other two, with medium length hair: "Blushing Beauty" Wig by Gabor | Mono Part GL16/27 and the "Salsa" Wig by Raquel Welch | Large Cap R14/88H Golden Wheat. Those two are a bit large and I need to learn to adjust the tabs in the back, and I also need to figure out from the videos how to "style" them with my fingers so they look good for me. But looking forward to enjoying those two.Carmen
This is a cute summer wig for someone who doesn't want permatese. It's low density. I got 22F16 there is not enough dimension for me but I do feel someone looking for a well made no permatese, low density piece would be very happy with it. I did have lots of thick hair & I like some poof on top.I was going to give it away but it is growing on me using dry shampoo,piece out & hair spray. Even tho it's symmetrical you can achieve a asymmetrical look with some tucking. I have noticed many reviews/comments on various pieces that I feel expectations are often unrealistic. Let's face it we all don't look like the beautiful ladies,Eileen,Marlen or Taz much less the models. I have found often if I think I don't like something if I change my makeup,color I'm wearing wait a few days,wear it around the house,often one I thought I would send back grows on me. Also often they just need a bit of tweaking with a small trim here & there to make it my own. I imagine very few can just take most of them out of the box with INSTANT SUCCESS ! Even I expected it at 1st & being a Master Stylist (retired) should have known better. I guess what I'm trying to say to all those who are new like me is to be patient.S N.

I only ever received the wig to this costume, the description said it came with the full costume also including shoes, I tried to contact regarding this and had no reply, very disappointing as now I need to buy another costume at the last minute for the event I needed it foraliciapiasente
