1. Jon Renau Victoria Lace Front Wig, Fs38 Pls8 Flurry
Product Details:
Specifications:
Reviews:
Victoria is a stunning style, and Jon Renau's 100% hand-tied wigs are sooo comfortable. Unfortunately, I had the same problem with Victoria that I had with one other JR hand-tied style: the lace front was far too big for my narrow forehead, and it buckled up/gapped. Some JR hand-tied wigs fit me fine, but this one (and one other, as mentioned) did not. I do have a narrow forehead. So while my head is average, it's petite in the forehead area. I imagine people with truly average size foreheads would have no trouble with this wig. And it's a stunner!
This is my second handtied wig from JR. I must say I am addicted to them! I love not having to worry about wig wefts showing and the fact he hair moves so freely all the way around the wig. Not just on top! This wig is 100% worth the cost, no doubt in my mind. I could wear this daily , all day and actually forget I have it on. It is that light! I also love the density is light so it's not bulky and looks VERY, VERY realistic. This is the perfect bob. I have this wig in the colors 6F27 as well as 12FS8. The 12FS8 seems a bit more dense at the hairline than the other non rooted color. This seems to be with most JR wigs I own that the shaded colors are thicker at the hairline. I don't know why. For some that is a plus if you have hair to hide under the wig, it will. I prefer a more sparse hairline, I think it looks better but that is just me. This wig is amazing and I am working on getting my third in the 4/33 color. It does provide good coverage at the ears and nape and I have not sweat at all in this wig and I live in a humid and warm climate. Pros EVERYTHING! Cons NOTHING!
Great wig overall! Friends thought I posted a pic of myself pre-chemo baldness with it on! I wish I had gotten a heat resistant wig for my first one, though. Here’s why: with it being mono top, I thought it would be easier to part the hair where I wanted it to be. It WILL go that way, but takes some product to do so and doesn’t hold the part where I’d like it to be (and since I can’t just straight iron it that way I got a bit frustrated). I decided to cut bangs into it and sort of ruined the look-oops, too late! I will have my stylist fix it up for me when she opens back up, because I like a more drastic angle from back to front, and the back top falls a bit flat, whereas a more stacked look is preferred by me. Definitely worth a go, but I think for the price, I wish it was heat resistant for styling purposes. The color was spot on. I got the 12FS8 Shaded Praline.Elizabeth J.

Reviews:
I was so disappointed with the quality of this wig. I have purchased several Jon Renau wigs and have been happy with them. I was excited about this particular style and couldn't wait to get it. The actual style is great but the entire back of the wig is so thin you can clearly see the structure of the cap underneath. So now I have to return the wig I so desperately need, but I also have to pay for shipping and restocking fees. So not happy!!Claudia

Reviews:
After a hysterectomy & menopause that followed resulting in 1/4 of my hair gradually thinning and trying every supplement including PRP treatments I realized preserving the hair I had was the focus, since after 5yrs and thousands of dollars later, the hair that had thinned was not going to grow back. I work in the medical field, at an Oncology / Bone Marrow Transplant Center so the topic of wigs is something I'm very familiar with. Many of the patients I work with rave about Jon Ranau wigs so I figured I'd give that brand a try. I've purchased a couple so far to ensure I have a new backup always on hand and plan to venture into other styles & colors but so far I'm extremely pleased with the quality of the cap/top & synthetic hair, style & color and it's so easy to maintain!
The wig was already thinning in the front when I got it and I can't hide this with bio hair because the lace is too long (can't cut the lace because it is the only thing gripping the front, there are no clips). I don't recommend this piece for people with small/low foreheads, maybe if you are completely bald with no bio hair it might work for you but not if you have pale skin because the knots are very dark and the lace is tan. I tried to straighten the hair on low heat and it made a melting smell, I question if all the hair is real. The cap is also extremely itchy and the lace is not soft (because the lace grips) so it is uncomfortable when it sits on my forehead. I would need to sew in clips and then seal off the lace so it doesn't unravel when trimmed, but for $2000 I would expect this to be of better quality. I own many wigs and hair toppers, I am always disappointed in Jon Renau but I took a risk because I liked the color. The Jon Renau brand is not carried much anymore because their pieces are just not worth the price. I am just going to have to stick with Uniwigs because at least I know what to expect and they are keeping up with the trends for comfort and affordability.LS
The hair piece is nicely made and the color was spot-on. I really, really wanted to like this wig. My overall problem was the style… and was in a few of the reviews I had read prior. The front part was over bearing and so much so that it wouldn't stay out of my face…. almost like there was too much hair. While I didn't try to style the piece or trim to see if that would make a difference (didn't want to do anything in case I returned, which I did), so it's possible I could have made it work. But I just couldn't get past the front portion of the wig and all the volume; I couldn't figure out what to do with it! I am not new to hair pieces, wigs and extension pony-tails so I am aware that some effort is-or-might be necessary, etc., but it simply just looked fake on me. I only deducted 1 Star because it might have been fixable but $300.++ I didn't want to take that chance so I returned. But overall, the wig is pretty and the cap is comfy. Good luck!Susie

I bought this wig because of a great review I saw and wanted to own at least one HT wig unit. I love the wig almost , only one thing I did not like about it was the way it curled toward my face . So I used a flat iron to just flatten that out. OMG big mistake I found out that it does not tolerate heat. I was so shocked because of the amount of money that I paid for it. I have cheap wigs that tolerate heat so I just assumed. Needless to say I won't spend that kind of money again on a wig unless it is heat friendly or at least gives complete info about the unit.jaye
This is a really fabulous style with a really fantastic feel to the fibers. The petite size is fantastic for my small noggin. Where this piece falls short is the lace front and where that lace front joins the rest of the cap. I didn’t pay enough attention to the fact that the color I bought was rooted. The dark knots of the rooted color almost ruin having a lace front. They make it feel so terribly obvious. Additionally, the seam where the lace front joins the rest of the cap is super obvious. If I were to pull the hair back within a half inch of this section, the seam become noticeable from a distance. That all being said, it’s still very wearable as a sleek bob and looks great with a just off center side part.elizabeth T.
Winner! I am wearing petite Cameron in Malibu blonde. I tried several shades of blonde and I also tried both the regular sized Cameron and the petite sized Cameron. I have a 21 inch circumference head. My personal test showed that the regular sized wig looked helmet-y on me, and the ear tabs came down to cover my ear lobes. But, with The petite sized Cameron, I am able to tuck hair behind my ear, because the ear tabs are in the right place, which makes this look way more realistic! Additionally, maybe I wasn’t very good at this but another test I tried was to make a clean and precise side part and match it up with my own part underneath the wig showing thru the lace with my real bio hair, But it seemed to be too obvious and noticeable thru the lace that there was lace on top of my scalp when I did it that way. What I discovered was, that when the part is a little more messy and the bangs are more swept up and over to the side it hid the edges of the lace way better and made it more undetectable. I have already worn Cameron petite in Malibu blonde on a zoom call and everyone loved my hair! I asked my friend (from the zoom call) later if it looked like a wig and she said, no, she thought it looked really realistic, pretty and the roots added to that realness too! I used only a tiny spray of dry shampoo to reduce shine and a tiny spray of synthetic hair hairspray to hold side swept bangs after I lightly teased them. Hope this helps someone else. I like that this wig will not get smashed under my coat and collars with this length too, which will help it last longer.Timatha K.

Well, I finally learned my lesson. I cannot purchase clearance items any longer since every time I have, there has been something either wrong with the wig (manufacturing) or something I didn't like and there are no returns. There wasn't anything wrong with this piece. She just had way too much hair and the fibers were so dry they were like straw. It is a beautiful warm color but the density, the permatease and the dry fibers made this difficult to pull off. I thinned it out and tried to tame the permatease but it just didn't work. Plus, the fibers were like doll hair and so that was a dead giveaway. This was the third JR piece and all have pretty dry fibers. Is this normal? I did receive the piece quickly and as always WS1 is around to answer any questions.E.N.
I am a first time buyer, trying to figure out what fits and how to wear the wigs. I ordered 3 wigs in this first order, and two of them I can adjust and work with. But "Gwen" has very short hair and it looks nothing like the pictures! I had it on my head for a few seconds and couldn't stand the very short hair with no shape at all. It looked like a hedgehog, The color is nice, but this wig is too small, too short hair for my plus size figure: Gwen Wig by Jon Renau STRAWBERRY BLONDE AND WARM PLATINUM BLONDE BLENDED & TIPPED W STRAWBERRY BLONDE NAPE (27T613F). In all fairness, I only had it on my head a few seconds and took it off right away, I didn't try to make it look better, afraid to ruin the chance for return. It might be ok for someone else, but at 62 yrs old and plus size figure, that little wig was not even funny! I filled out the return label for "Gwen" but keeping the other two, with medium length hair: "Blushing Beauty" Wig by Gabor | Mono Part GL16/27 and the "Salsa" Wig by Raquel Welch | Large Cap R14/88H Golden Wheat. Those two are a bit large and I need to learn to adjust the tabs in the back, and I also need to figure out from the videos how to "style" them with my fingers so they look good for me. But looking forward to enjoying those two.Carmen
This is a cute summer wig for someone who doesn't want permatese. It's low density. I got 22F16 there is not enough dimension for me but I do feel someone looking for a well made no permatese, low density piece would be very happy with it. I did have lots of thick hair & I like some poof on top.I was going to give it away but it is growing on me using dry shampoo, piece out & hair spray. Even tho it's symmetrical you can achieve a asymmetrical look with some tucking. I have noticed many reviews/comments on various pieces that I feel expectations are often unrealistic. Let's face it we all don't look like the beautiful ladies,Eileen,Marlen or Taz much less the models. I have found often if I think I don't like something if I change my makeup, color I'm wearing wait a few days, wear it around the house, often one I thought I would send back grows on me. Also often they just need a bit of tweaking with a small trim here & there to make it my own. I imagine very few can just take most of them out of the box with INSTANT SUCCESS ! Even I expected it at 1st & being a Master Stylist (retired) should have known better. I guess what I'm trying to say to all those who are new like me is to be patient.S N.

This is a lovely wig. I love that it's thinner and hand tied. I'm not a fan of the ear to ear lace. It tends to stick up around the ear tabs and you can see it. I've tried glue but it just cakes up on the lace and doesn't work anyway. I wish I had gotten the regular julianne with velvet ear tabs. I am so glad I tried the light version in the julianne before paying a ridiculous amount of money for the carrie light and realizing the lace ear tabs are terrible. At least there's that… other than the ear tabs I love this wig. Pictured is the palm springs blonde color.Valerie N.
If you have hair thinning or loss anywhere in the front, this will not work for you as you'll be pulling on those vulnerable hairs if you have any, yet it won't be enough to hold the piece in place safely, nor can you use adhesive on thinning hairs. Obviously the 3 front clips won't be of use if you have no hair in front; aybe you could remove all the clips and use adhesive instead if you have no hair. For me, with thinning hair, this was unworkable. I was excited about this item, but was left disappointed. Trying to be fair to the store, I kept the items (I bought two) rather than ask for another return. I shouldn't have kept them.Gerri
I have bought several regular January's in the past, and have always thought they had too much permatease, but would repurchase it because it is closest to the style and color I am looking for. This was my first January Hand Tied. I am pleased to say that it is exactly what I was hoping for. The best part is that there is NO permatease, which had always made it too hot to wear in the summer, and now I don't have to worry about wefts showing since there are none. The lace front on mine is fantastic in the color 14/25 – the highlighting and knotting is the best it's ever been. It is much less tiger-striped looking than it had been about 5 years ago. The hand tied January also has less density than regular January, so I only thinned it slightly in spots compared to my major thinning of regular January. Both versions of January tend to be less shiny than the straight versions of synthetics, which is a plus for me. The Jon Renau regular synthetic fibers last longer than the other brands I have tried as well.Brahm

I love that this comes in a trial/travel size. The shampoo is great smelling and leaves my wigs squeaky clean but soft. This size is great for using on the go or if you just want to give this line a try. The Jon Renau is hands down my favorite product line and the only thing I use anymore.Norma
The Jon Renau Shampoo is fantastic. I have used it for years now. The shampoo is gentle and compatible with any brand of synthetic wig. It has a fresh, yet not overpowering fragrance, and returns the wig to its natural softness. Just remember to rinse thoroughly so you don't leave a residue. One suggestion, perhaps apply the JR Conditioning spray, combined with the Luster Spray, to restore the original "newness" to your wig. However if you don't use the other two products mentioned, you will still be very pleased with the shampoo.Sandy T
Found this to be a very nice wig shampoo that also smells good. Highly recommend it, Rinses out well too.Gaby

I got this lusterizer hoping it would help with the bangs on my wig I purchased a while ago they had gotten so the hair looked like straw I have trouble with other wigs looking like too. I do think it helped after I sprayed it on but still doesn’t have the feel or look that the rest of my wig has.Nada L.

When I saw a picture of this wig, I thought to myself "finally!" This is the style I have been looking for for a while, short, straight, not too much hair, an Ignite but with a longer back. Unfortunately, this wig has a very small cap. It cannot possibly be average size. Average size fits usually lose on my head and this wig I could barely squeeze on. Secondly, it has no lace front. I am too used by now to wearing a lace front monofilament to feel comfortable wearing a wig without. I guess this is what you get for the price. The color and the fibers were great, but I had to return mainly because the cap was far too small.Mimi
The biggest problem I found with this wig was the fit. Average was too big, but petite felt too small. I have a Goldilocks size head and I found the ear tabs on the petite were way too high on my temples, but the front and back fit ok. I bought it on sale and thought I would take a risk even if it wasn’t perfect (and it’s not). The hair itself is good quality and appears to be well made and the style is very cute. I only wish there was a better way to buy wigs other than to pay upfront for an online item, only to find out it’s not quite right. It seems if you can try on hairstyles virtually, there should be a way to try on wigs virtually. If you could upload a photo or enter the dimensions of your head and then try on virtually, you can get an idea of where the ear tabs will fall, for example or how long the bangs will be. It would save a lot of time and money on returns. Eventually, someone will invent it, but until then, buying wigs online is a crapshoot. I prefer to buy locally, however most wig shops don’t carry a very large variety and if you buy the same wig through a wig shop, it will cost double.Vee B.
-1 star for how easily it tangles and sheds; I recommend wearing the hair down over updos because of it -1 star for how chunky highlights are at the part which are unconcealable +1 star for cap and hairline In my pics, I have not plucked the hairline, but I have straightened the wig and rearranged the part. The cap on this wig is definitely better quality than my cheaper amazon wigs (I like that it has velcro straps), but the hair itself both tangles and comes out more easily than my cheapy $30-50 wigs, which is unfortunate. I'd recommend not even bothering to try to do a half updo with this wig, which I'm personally disappointed by but that's okay, it looks good down. The lace came pre-cut, not sure if it was supposed to, but it fits perfectly and blends right into my pale skin, which is great. Hairline is great, pretty natural looking. I ordered the color FS4/33/30A Midnight Cocoa – the highlights are so chunky right up into the part (see pics). Doesn't matter which way you part it, you have giant stripes in your hair with this color (not too noticeable from straight on or from the side but I disapprove still haha). So I would NOT recommend the colors with highlights like this one, just get a solid color. So overall, I wish I got a different color, but that's on me. It's otherwise a pretty good wig and I would recommend it.Aubrey H.

To start. I am 26 and lost all my hair due to chemotherapy, I work for the military so a professional look is a requirement. That being said, this is the 5th wig I have bought. And so far it is my favorite. I bought shaded praline, it's a nice blonde. The wig has a healthy shine to it and the cap feels amazing!! It's not too big and it's not itchy. I wish this were the first wig I bought because it is the only wig I wear now. I fortunately bought it when there was a 30% discount code posted and honestly after receiving it, it is so worth the money even before the discount. I wish I could post pictures of this wig. It looks so natural, the hair feels natural, it moves naturally and again it doesn't itch. I had my wig-hair dresser trim it to frame my face and even she agrees this is the best wig I have brought in and it didn't cost thousands of dollars. The lace front hides the fact it's a wig and most people are surprised I'm even wearing a wig. It is a more natural-straight haired wig so it doesn't have any of that permatease, if you like big hair this isn't the wig you want. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a shoulder length or shorter wig. A stylist with wig experience can do wonders with this wig with regards to cutting. The style shown reflects out-of-the-box style. Summary: absolutely beautiful, worth the money and a must have for anyone.Yvette
The 1st Cameron I purchased a few weeks ago, really shed and I couldn't get the flip out of the bottom, so I returned it & purchased another. This one doesn't shed, but has the same flip on the bottom. Also, they both are very sparce on the middle part. I will keep her (reluctantly) only because she is hand-tied, lightweight & smart lace. I will have to take her to a professional to trim the bottom to try and get the flip out & will put bangs in her to hide the scarce hair in the top part. i hope I am not making a mistake by keeping her.
I ordered this in storm, liked the style and color. So curious about the purple color in the arctic collection and it's beautiful. The wig seems a bit small for average head size with total alopecia .The cut is not as long as expected but this will be great for summer. This is not so full as other bobs, and does have that issue with falling into the face. I did not want to cut it, so I'm just using small clips to keep it out of my eyes.
