This is a lovely wig. I love that it's thinner and hand tied. I'm not a fan of the ear to ear lace. It tends to stick up around the ear tabs and you can see it. I've tried glue but it just cakes up on the lace and doesn't work anyway. I wish I had gotten the regular julianne with velvet ear tabs. I am so glad I tried the light version in the julianne before paying a ridiculous amount of money for the carrie light and realizing the lace ear tabs are terrible. At least there's that… other than the ear tabs I love this wig. Pictured is the palm springs blonde color.Valerie N.
If you have hair thinning or loss anywhere in the front, this will not work for you as you'll be pulling on those vulnerable hairs if you have any, yet it won't be enough to hold the piece in place safely, nor can you use adhesive on thinning hairs. Obviously the 3 front clips won't be of use if you have no hair in front; aybe you could remove all the clips and use adhesive instead if you have no hair. For me, with thinning hair, this was unworkable. I was excited about this item, but was left disappointed. Trying to be fair to the store, I kept the items (I bought two) rather than ask for another return. I shouldn't have kept them.Gerri
I have bought several regular January's in the past, and have always thought they had too much permatease, but would repurchase it because it is closest to the style and color I am looking for. This was my first January Hand Tied. I am pleased to say that it is exactly what I was hoping for. The best part is that there is NO permatease, which had always made it too hot to wear in the summer, and now I don't have to worry about wefts showing since there are none. The lace front on mine is fantastic in the color 14/25 – the highlighting and knotting is the best it's ever been. It is much less tiger-striped looking than it had been about 5 years ago. The hand tied January also has less density than regular January, so I only thinned it slightly in spots compared to my major thinning of regular January. Both versions of January tend to be less shiny than the straight versions of synthetics, which is a plus for me. The Jon Renau regular synthetic fibers last longer than the other brands I have tried as well.Brahm

Well, I finally learned my lesson. I cannot purchase clearance items any longer since every time I have, there has been something either wrong with the wig (manufacturing) or something I didn't like and there are no returns. There wasn't anything wrong with this piece. She just had way too much hair and the fibers were so dry they were like straw. It is a beautiful warm color but the density, the permatease and the dry fibers made this difficult to pull off. I thinned it out and tried to tame the permatease but it just didn't work. Plus, the fibers were like doll hair and so that was a dead giveaway. This was the third JR piece and all have pretty dry fibers. Is this normal? I did receive the piece quickly and as always WS1 is around to answer any questions.E.N.
I am a first time buyer, trying to figure out what fits and how to wear the wigs. I ordered 3 wigs in this first order, and two of them I can adjust and work with. But "Gwen" has very short hair and it looks nothing like the pictures! I had it on my head for a few seconds and couldn't stand the very short hair with no shape at all. It looked like a hedgehog, The color is nice, but this wig is too small, too short hair for my plus size figure: Gwen Wig by Jon Renau STRAWBERRY BLONDE AND WARM PLATINUM BLONDE BLENDED & TIPPED W STRAWBERRY BLONDE NAPE (27T613F). In all fairness, I only had it on my head a few seconds and took it off right away, I didn't try to make it look better, afraid to ruin the chance for return. It might be ok for someone else, but at 62 yrs old and plus size figure, that little wig was not even funny! I filled out the return label for "Gwen" but keeping the other two, with medium length hair: "Blushing Beauty" Wig by Gabor | Mono Part GL16/27 and the "Salsa" Wig by Raquel Welch | Large Cap R14/88H Golden Wheat. Those two are a bit large and I need to learn to adjust the tabs in the back, and I also need to figure out from the videos how to "style" them with my fingers so they look good for me. But looking forward to enjoying those two.Carmen
This is a cute summer wig for someone who doesn't want permatese. It's low density. I got 22F16 there is not enough dimension for me but I do feel someone looking for a well made no permatese, low density piece would be very happy with it. I did have lots of thick hair & I like some poof on top.I was going to give it away but it is growing on me using dry shampoo, piece out & hair spray. Even tho it's symmetrical you can achieve a asymmetrical look with some tucking. I have noticed many reviews/comments on various pieces that I feel expectations are often unrealistic. Let's face it we all don't look like the beautiful ladies,Eileen,Marlen or Taz much less the models. I have found often if I think I don't like something if I change my makeup, color I'm wearing wait a few days, wear it around the house, often one I thought I would send back grows on me. Also often they just need a bit of tweaking with a small trim here & there to make it my own. I imagine very few can just take most of them out of the box with INSTANT SUCCESS ! Even I expected it at 1st & being a Master Stylist (retired) should have known better. I guess what I'm trying to say to all those who are new like me is to be patient.S N.

Reviews:
Love this piece! I typically shy away from toppers because I don't like trying to blend the hairline with my own hair, but since this has a lace front I decided to try it and am SO happy I did! I do use walker tape on the lace front and it stays in place beautifully. The clips are comfortable and don't cause me any pain which is wonderful. I bought the 18" topper and my bio hair is only to my shoulders, but it's not a problem because this topper has great coverage and my thin, fine hair just kind of melts right into it.Karree P.
This synthetic topper covers my hair loss so perfectly and naturally. The color and fullness is spot on. It is easy to clip on, blends beautifully with my hair underneath and got blended with my usually super messy hair underneath. When I received it, I took it to my stylist and he trimmed the front to echo how my hair used to look when I was younger. Easy and comfortable to wear all day working and running around. My n.
6. Jon Renau Wigs – Sarah Large | Synthetic Lace Front Wig (Hand-Tied)
Product Details:
Specifications:
Reviews:
This wig looks amazing out of the box! The curls are perfect, the color options are great, and it looks very natural. Most people don't even realize I'm wearing a wig unless they know to look for it. For weeks, it will look fantastic (I get more compliments than I did when I had bio hair). However, the hair is extremely long and fine so it does tend to become frizzy quickly. You can maintain the hair with careful washing, storage and a handheld streamer to help uncurl the frizz. Time will take it's toll though. This is a tough wig to wear as an everyday wig unless you want to replace it fairly often or you have a lot of skill with keeping a wig looking it's best.Kayla C.
I took advantage of the 30% sale during the Memorial Day weekend to purchase this absolutely stunning wig! I have worn synthetics for almost a year now and wanted real hear that is full and luscious. Do not hesitate to invest in yourself with the Blake. I got the large. The hair is like a waterfall, silky, and smooth. I got the Pralines and cream because I like blond but not the bleach blond fake color. I am in love with the hair!
Sarah is the perfect wavy wig for about any hair style. Great for a pony tail, messy bun, low bun. Of course when one is styling Sarah, only use a hair elastic for heavy hair and when taking it out, do not pull the elastic through the hair…work the hair out carefully from the elastic. Any pulling on the hair may break the structure and turn frizzy. Once the hair is damaged, there is no going back. As far as the comparison……(1) 100% better than High Octane by Raquel Welch; (2) better than Estetica's new long beach wavy wig; and 200% better than Ellen Wille's Lola. I got Lola and that wig is a hot mess…looks like a bad perm and that surprises me because EW puts out a good quality wig. I actually have 2 Sarah's now..one in Shaded Praline & Cream and the other in Shaded Praline. That's my review.

8. Annette By Jon Renau Fs26/31s6

Reviews:
I recently purchased Annette in 6F27/Caramel Ribbon. I had previously purchased another wig in the caramel ribbon and loved the color. However, this time I wanted a monofilament/lace front wig. I am very pleased with my purchase. I love the cut and style and how the scalp and hairline look so natural, which allows me to wear the part in any direction. I recently ran in to a former high school friend, whom I hadn’t seen in 40 years. She recognized me saying “you still look the same and your hair looks great”. When I told her I was wearing a wig, she was in awe. So I would say this one definitely passed the test. Love this one.lozanna c.
This wig is almost perfect for me right out of the box. I have complete hair loss, so I did take up a few wefts across the back to close up the empty space between my head and the cap. I love this this wig did not need to be thinned. Before I lost my hair I had very thick hair, and this wig approximates that thickness well without being overwhelming. The style is almost exactly what my bio hair style was too! If there was anything I could do to improve this wig, it would be to make it a full lace cap to make it as cool and as lightweight as possible. However, I’m very please with this wig and do plan to buy more.
Not entirely sure. The fit is great….very comfortable and obviously well constructed. The colour is the model's colour but found the roots very dark brown and wish the sides were a tiny bit longer. That's why 4 stars instead of 5. One can't blame the wig if it doesn't suit as well as one hopes and one should never expect it to look exactly as the model. Some of my friends like it some think it's a bit 'old lady' like others don't think so at all. So will have to lvie with it for a while to see what I think. This is my second wig…I recently reviewed the Kristin" wig But am learning now to study more the specs – weight hair length at sides crown etc. monofilament or whatever rather than looking at the model. Amazing how a hairstyle can totally change one's look! Look at the other review and see a totally different 'me'! 😉 I think I will get one more and that should tie me over until my abused brillo pad hair grows out so I can cut it off and start over again.Sydney

I bought this topper off of the closeout site after returning the Brenna wig. I'm new to "helper hair" and the Brenna was just too much hair for me to feel comfortable in as a newbie. I got this topper in the color 10 Luscious Caramel & it is an almost exact color match for my bio-hair. The topper is very comfortable & I almost forget I have it on. The day it arrived, I put it on before my husband & son arrived home from their day. I watched some YouTube videos on how to put it on correctly. It takes a little practice to get it in properly, but not too much. You have need to be careful taking it out so that you don't pull your bio-hair out with it. My family didn't realize I had it on until I pointed it out. My hair is cut in a bob & is just slightly shorter than the topper. It's always been fine and somewhat thin….getting thinner since menopause. But, I can get it to look pretty full….it just takes a considerable amount of time & effort. Anyway, my family thinks the topper looks very natural. The back is just a little long for me; my bob is stacked in the back. The topper has some longer pieces that kind of flip out…I may wind up trimming that part a little. I also trimmed the bangs slightly to blend in better with my own side-swept bangs. If I had not been buying it off of the closeout site, I would have gotten one of the shaded colors, but overall, I'm very happy with this topper. I have since ordered the 8" Easipart XL HD & am waiting for it to arrive.Cheryl B.
I have a very expensive topper that was made locally at a hair loss hair salon. It looks quite natural, but the cost was atrocious! I ordered the first of several Essentially You toppers, took it to my hairdresser, and he cut it with a razor to mimic my graduated bob cut. It looks quite natural, and with it cut to my specific hairstyle, I’m quite confident wearing it. It was very shiny and I’ve had to work hard to “dull” it to look more natural. I also found it to be too thick, and followed the advice of Patti’s Pearls on how to thin it out with a thinning shear. Of course thick hair looks beautiful, but when my natural hair is thin, and not a lot of it, I don’t want to suddenly look va va voom with a full thick head of hair. That’s just me – I don’t want to wear the topper every day, and I don’t want it to be obvious when I DO wear it. Time will tell how this holds up. I’m concerned from all the comments about synthetics looking bad within 6 months to a year…I did proceed to buy two more in order to rotate them, hoping they last longer.
There were pieces of hair sticking up at the top of the topper. Looked unfinished and the part area had a bald spot. This topper was defectuve and I am returning it with the hope there are no issues on return. This is my 4th purchase in 45 days so really just wanted to x change it but have to send it back.

When I saw a picture of this wig, I thought to myself "finally!" This is the style I have been looking for for a while, short, straight, not too much hair, an Ignite but with a longer back. Unfortunately, this wig has a very small cap. It cannot possibly be average size. Average size fits usually lose on my head and this wig I could barely squeeze on. Secondly, it has no lace front. I am too used by now to wearing a lace front monofilament to feel comfortable wearing a wig without. I guess this is what you get for the price. The color and the fibers were great, but I had to return mainly because the cap was far too small.Mimi
The biggest problem I found with this wig was the fit. Average was too big, but petite felt too small. I have a Goldilocks size head and I found the ear tabs on the petite were way too high on my temples, but the front and back fit ok. I bought it on sale and thought I would take a risk even if it wasn’t perfect (and it’s not). The hair itself is good quality and appears to be well made and the style is very cute. I only wish there was a better way to buy wigs other than to pay upfront for an online item, only to find out it’s not quite right. It seems if you can try on hairstyles virtually, there should be a way to try on wigs virtually. If you could upload a photo or enter the dimensions of your head and then try on virtually, you can get an idea of where the ear tabs will fall, for example or how long the bangs will be. It would save a lot of time and money on returns. Eventually, someone will invent it, but until then, buying wigs online is a crapshoot. I prefer to buy locally, however most wig shops don’t carry a very large variety and if you buy the same wig through a wig shop, it will cost double.Vee B.
-1 star for how easily it tangles and sheds; I recommend wearing the hair down over updos because of it -1 star for how chunky highlights are at the part which are unconcealable +1 star for cap and hairline In my pics, I have not plucked the hairline, but I have straightened the wig and rearranged the part. The cap on this wig is definitely better quality than my cheaper amazon wigs (I like that it has velcro straps), but the hair itself both tangles and comes out more easily than my cheapy $30-50 wigs, which is unfortunate. I'd recommend not even bothering to try to do a half updo with this wig, which I'm personally disappointed by but that's okay, it looks good down. The lace came pre-cut, not sure if it was supposed to, but it fits perfectly and blends right into my pale skin, which is great. Hairline is great, pretty natural looking. I ordered the color FS4/33/30A Midnight Cocoa – the highlights are so chunky right up into the part (see pics). Doesn't matter which way you part it, you have giant stripes in your hair with this color (not too noticeable from straight on or from the side but I disapprove still haha). So I would NOT recommend the colors with highlights like this one, just get a solid color. So overall, I wish I got a different color, but that's on me. It's otherwise a pretty good wig and I would recommend it.Aubrey H.

After a hysterectomy & menopause that followed resulting in 1/4 of my hair gradually thinning and trying every supplement including PRP treatments I realized preserving the hair I had was the focus, since after 5yrs and thousands of dollars later, the hair that had thinned was not going to grow back. I work in the medical field, at an Oncology / Bone Marrow Transplant Center so the topic of wigs is something I'm very familiar with. Many of the patients I work with rave about Jon Ranau wigs so I figured I'd give that brand a try. I've purchased a couple so far to ensure I have a new backup always on hand and plan to venture into other styles & colors but so far I'm extremely pleased with the quality of the cap/top & synthetic hair, style & color and it's so easy to maintain!
The wig was already thinning in the front when I got it and I can't hide this with bio hair because the lace is too long (can't cut the lace because it is the only thing gripping the front, there are no clips). I don't recommend this piece for people with small/low foreheads, maybe if you are completely bald with no bio hair it might work for you but not if you have pale skin because the knots are very dark and the lace is tan. I tried to straighten the hair on low heat and it made a melting smell, I question if all the hair is real. The cap is also extremely itchy and the lace is not soft (because the lace grips) so it is uncomfortable when it sits on my forehead. I would need to sew in clips and then seal off the lace so it doesn't unravel when trimmed, but for $2000 I would expect this to be of better quality. I own many wigs and hair toppers, I am always disappointed in Jon Renau but I took a risk because I liked the color. The Jon Renau brand is not carried much anymore because their pieces are just not worth the price. I am just going to have to stick with Uniwigs because at least I know what to expect and they are keeping up with the trends for comfort and affordability.LS
The hair piece is nicely made and the color was spot-on. I really, really wanted to like this wig. My overall problem was the style… and was in a few of the reviews I had read prior. The front part was over bearing and so much so that it wouldn't stay out of my face…. almost like there was too much hair. While I didn't try to style the piece or trim to see if that would make a difference (didn't want to do anything in case I returned, which I did), so it's possible I could have made it work. But I just couldn't get past the front portion of the wig and all the volume; I couldn't figure out what to do with it! I am not new to hair pieces, wigs and extension pony-tails so I am aware that some effort is-or-might be necessary, etc., but it simply just looked fake on me. I only deducted 1 Star because it might have been fixable but $300.++ I didn't want to take that chance so I returned. But overall, the wig is pretty and the cap is comfy. Good luck!Susie

I have been wearing alt. hair for several years now. I have tried long, short, curly, straight …you name it. I usually go back to Ignite just for its cute fun easy style. But recently been looking for something that’s close to it that I might could wear that doesn’t do that “flipping fall in my face” thing that Ignite does. Insert EVE…omg where have you been girl? So easy to wear. It can be parted so many ways. I did snip off that one long piece but other than that it is CUTE AND EASY. Also 12fs12 is definitely my new go to color.Cheryl
Right out of the box, I loved this wig. One review said it was a bi level, one side being slightly longer than the other. Imagine my surprise when I put it on and found it balanced in length! The color (Martini) is a nice blend of blond and platinum, which make it a great wig for those going ‘natural’. My daughter was so impressed with its natural hairline and part.Cynthia W.
I ordered Eve and it arrived within day’s. OMGosh, it is fabulous and so light weight. Almost as light as a topper. I hardly know I am wearing it. It fits that good and because it is a heat synthetic wig, it looks like real hair. No dry powder shampoo is needed on this wig. It is a longer Ignite wig so if you love it, you will really love this one. My color is Venice, one of the California blonde colors.Sharon

If you have hair thinning or loss anywhere in the front, this will not work for you as you'll be pulling on those vulnerable hairs if you have any, yet it won't be enough to hold the piece in place safely, nor can you use adhesive on thinning hairs.
