The positives are: This is perhaps the highest quality cap I've ever seen. The inside of the wig is like a custom fit, not stretchy. Very well made. It was made to stay in place and has little silicone type lines to keep it in place. Unfortunately for me, it was too small. I only wear Ellen Wille wigs, mostly the hybrid hair and they have a bit more give and stretch than this E.W. HH wig. My head size is larger so I had to return this one.
I have to agree with other reviews. The cap is well made. It is comfortable. However, there are chunks of hair around the face that will not move. They hang very much forward and not straight down as normal hair. My stylist looked at the wig, but stated he could not correct that problem with styling. For the high price of almost $1,000, I expected an expertly made wig. I’m returning for an exchange hoping the problem is only on the wig I received. I love Ellen Wille wigs and have been wearing the synthetics for years. Great for petite heads that need short cuts. I’m disappointed in this Ellen Wille product. Nora is a delightful fluff and go style with waves and almost curls. I got it in color 38, which is light ash brown with grey. It is supposed to be light ash brown with 25 percent grey (it seems a bit more than that;) It would be nice if Paula Young had at least one style featured in this color. The ash brown is very close to my natural color (a bit lighter) but Nora has more grey than I do personally. Nora arrived smelling absolutely wretched; I almost gagged when I opened the box. I had to wash the wig immediately. I used Paula Young shampoo. I thought I detected the (fumigant?) odor even after the wash, but when Nora dried, she no longer smelled. When I first put her on after she'd dried she was not pretty and the curls were mashed against the cap. I shook her vigorously and then took a wide tooth comb and really brought the fibers up off the cap. I wasn't rough, but I was deliberate in going over the entire wig to revive the fibers. I was able to achieve a style very similar to the catalog photo. In my photos, Nora has a more shag-like appearance, but once on she can be fluffed to the rounded silhouette of the catalog photo. Nora fits my 22.25 inch head comfortably and could be adjusted to go even a bit larger, or smaller. I find the fibers dry to the touch and just a bit coarser than my own very fine hair (although Nora's fiber does not look coarse.) Nora is comfortable to wear and an adorable style that goes with dressy as well as casual outfits. If you are prepared to spend a few moments waking Nora up after you first get her home, I think you will be pleasantly surprised at her fluff and go versatility. When this DANCE wig and COLOR ME EXQUISITE wigs arrived, upon removing them from the box they were cute, and the colors were pretty and the best thing they had going for them, However, they didn't look much like the ones the models in the pictures wore. And there is too much perma tease or "fluff" to them. They had really no style to them at all. Especially in the front, just couldn't do much with them. And didn't want to try since being careful with them is a must when trying them on. Very disappointed with these wigs. In my humble opinion they were not great and not keepers. So I am returning them and probably won't buy anymore wigs again. Sorry PY but your wigs need to be lighter weight, lay nicer, (some of us like a bit flatter style) far less perma tease or fluff, easier to wear right out of the box…Thanks anyway…Juanita
I am completely disappointed with my purchase. I ordered two of this wig because I really like the look of the style in the picture. The wigs I received will not comb into the style shown. The top is spiked and will only stand straight up and the bangs stick straight out and will not lay nicely against the forehead. I tried to tame it down with wig spray and hair gel but it won't lay down. The top hair stands straight up and the bangs stick straight out. The wig will not comb into a nice smooth pixie like the picture shows. I would not recommend a person buy this wig unless you want spiked hair that stands straight up at the top of your head and bangs that stick straight out at your forehead. The Picture Perfect wig is just that – absolutely picture perfect! Color HL4-27: I like this wig, but it does take some fixing. I plucked the part wider and back more. I cut the lining off the inside plastic cap part as it made it not sit on my head flat and I trimmed it a lot in length and thinned it a bit. I also washed it and let it air dry. I tried to curl it a bit but burnt a piece on the inside. I think it would only curl if it was temp 200 or below. I also trimmed the bangs a bit at an angle. The hair is natural looking and not shiny. It does tangle a bit underneath but combs out easily. A bit tight on my head so I cut the elastic a bit.

There is too much “weight” from the bangs and side pieces for my face—the cut is just as pictured. However, I took a chance because one photograph showed that the sides can be tucked behind the ear—and they really can. Minimal teasing near the part makes it look lighter. Good quality “hair,” but it is very shiny. I will definitely be using dry shampoo on it to reduce the shine as recommended in your care tips. Very comfortable.
I loved the wig cut & color, but the quality just wasn’t there. Had hairs sticking out all over and you can’t put behind your ears because the hair was crimped underneath, weird. Was so disappointed because I didn’t need to cut! Actually ordered twice in hopes it was just the one.

I ordered this in the Salt Pepper Mix. I really like the color. I some what like the style. It is too long and looks like you really need a trim at the nap of your neck. The quality problem is the same problem I have seen with three Ellen Wille wigs I ordered. There are little short hairs sticking up all over the back of the crown area or in the case of Cara 100 Deluxe wig the short straight hairs were sticking out all over the top. Another complaint, is that the picture here on the website is very inaccurate. In the red haired picture, that wig has been cut in the back. Wigs should not be altered in pictures for advertising a wig. I like that Ellen Wille wigs do not have excessive permatease and the cap being an petite/average fits me better than average sizes. But these quality issues are costing me a lot of money when you have to return the wig. Unfortunately, I don't have a wig store near me where I could try on wigs.

I was going on stock pictures and youtube reviews, but in reality it has a very choppy, strongly layered cut, and no real waves or curls. I had to brush these wigs with a regular "forbidden" kind of hairbrush instead of a wide tooth comb, to make the hair come together, instead of each lock of hair being super pieced out, doing their own thing. It also has a bit of permatease on one side of the part, and that kind of increased in volume during the day that I've worn her. For my head and face shape (large), permatease isn't a good idea. So… for me personally it's not a winner. However, if you need that extra bit of volume on top, you will LOVE this! If you like choppy layers and playfulness, but not really want to go for full curls or beach waves, this is a yes! Quality of hair is amazing and the cap is super comfortable. Wish I had bought this piece first. Wore it right out of box. Professionally cut, realistic density and very fine denier. Hairline is undetectable. With hand tying too, It’s the most natural piece I have. Mine is champagne mix, it is close in shade to RW shaded biscuit, Henry Margu 10/613GR, and maybe JR’s Palm Springs Blond? Ellen Wille’s shade is a nice blend for most any med to ash blonde or for someone whose blonde is beginning to gray. No gold really. Not shiny. Very nice length. I still have a lot of hair length and that is the only challenge with me wearing this one since it is designed to fit with very little to no hair. I am making it work tucking my hair flat under wig cap. My bio hair has thinned to point that I need more hair to look normal again. I’m a petite/med? I really bought this wig for the colour. The bright red swatch shown is exactly what arrived. I finally found the right shade my husband likes! I would have preferred a different style for this colour but the shade only came in two styles and this one was definitely better of the two. I will wear on occasion for him. I've been wearing this style for the past eight months. My favorite thing about it is the color hazelnut rooted. It is really natural looking with gorgeous highlights. I have three of them now as I wear the oldest one for bicycling tennis etc. They have held up well. I would prefer this color but something a little more "spiky" or edgy. I am going to try Estetica's "Rosa" but doubt that I'll get anywhere near the great color and highlights I've become used to. Wish I had bought this piece first. Wore it right out of box. Professionally cut, realistic density and very fine denier. Hairline is undetectable. With hand tying too, It’s the most natural piece I have. Mine is champagne mix, it is close in shade to RW shaded biscuit, Henry Margu 10/613GR, and maybe JR’s Palm Springs Blond? Ellen Wille’s shade is a nice blend for most any med to ash blonde or for someone whose blonde is beginning to gray. No gold really. Not shiny. Very nice length. I still have a lot of hair length and that is the only challenge with me wearing this one since it is designed to fit with very little to no hair. I am making it work tucking my hair flat under wig cap. My bio hair has thinned to point that I need more hair to look normal again. I’m a petite/med? This wig is beautiful and the colors really stand out. I will say that in natural light it shows more orange than red – something that several people have commented on. Inside, however, it's a beautiful red and I've received loads of compliments. My biggest issue with this wig, however, and the thing that prevented me from giving it 5 stars, is the permatease. In the video review the permatease doesn't look prominent but in my wig it's a bit of a mess. I constantly deal with helmet head and have to push down the top about once an hour to "tame" it again. Overall, this wig is beautiful and looks like healthy hair. I think that in the future I'd spend more on a mono cap but it is a great fist wig.Maria
I loved this one right out of the box, just like I did the Noriko Reese in the same color – Champagne-R. The fibers are so soft and silky. I have not done anything to this wig (I usually end up trimming the bangs on most). I wore at work all day and the only thing that bothered me was the bangs kept falling in my face. Gonna have to work with it a little to train them to stay put. I wish the rooting on the Champagne-R was a darker brown (looks harsh in the sunlight – like brown shoe polish).; I would prefer the roots to be a darker brown and not so long. My new favorite wig…..for now…..
Based on the picture and the reviews I thought….ok…this may be my new wig. There is no true part. I like wigs that has a part that you can see then base of your head….makes it look more believable. I figured "ok, I can get past that…I mean there is at least an illusion of a part" Then I touched the hair. At the top back where "the part ends" it looks like someone sheared a thick hunk of hair out leaving an astro turf feeling hair. It's pretty bad. The wig would have been alright but that part is just so ghastly. The hair does not look as natural as the pic either. I had to look at the label to make sure I got the right wig! I changed this significantly and I made it just like I imagined. The light auburn 27C-29 is gorgeous. Very natural looking highlights. The feel of this wig is amazing when it's new. My only complaint is that it hasn't played that long. Though it can handle heat curling it does cause damage and that has made it's texture change and it feels and behaves more like barbie hair now. After a full day of wear the hair in the back does tangle, but it's easy enough to brush out. I purchased this wig in color 4 (dark brown) and it is quite dark, but still a natural shade. I am new to wearing & purchasing wigs. This is only the 2nd wig I have bought. I love it though it is very different than my own hairs thickness & style, though that is not a bad thing. We all know that harmful chemicals in hair dyes can cause problems with your health & damage to your hair. Woweee! I have several favorites when it comes to wig styles, but Angelica PM ranks at #1! Long feminine locks that hold up well, as do all Noriko fibers, and a realistic monopart which is essential to me. My only drawback is that the average cap size runs a bit small for my avg/lrg head, but large size is too large for me. All in all, she still gets an A+! Shown here in Crimson LR.Janel H.

It has been over 15 years since I had a human hair wig. I tried one previously and it was I’ll fitting and looked very unnatural. This wig, however, fits comfortably (it’s honestly still slightly larger than what I’d love and I just mention that in case anyone is nervous hearing that it is more on the petite side. I wish it were more petite!). I do, however, love the amount of hair in Cascade. It’s thickness looks very natural. I’m currently in the process of having a Freedom Wig created and an thrilled to have this beautiful hair while I wait for it!Ariel H.
The fibers tangle too easily. I can't do anything without this wig tangling and matting in a weird way. It's embarrassing to me and now I have to replace it after only 2 months of wear. I've tried conditioners in hopes of coating the fibers and reducing friction, but it doesn't last even a whole day. I have been impressed with the construction of the cap. Considering I have to brush the wig out many times throughout the day, I'm surprised that the crown hasn't thinned badly. Many wigs come already too thin in the crown, but not this one. The Chocolate Mix color is nice. Other wig brands use fibers (heat friendly and otherwise) that can be smoothed every day or two with a straightener on low heat. Frizziness is not the issue with this wig. It just can't handle friction.Carrie E.
I'm a big fan of Elite, which will always be my favorite EW style. The cut on this one is great and similiar to elite but with more face framing layers in the front which very modern. The hair so silky and such a natural looking density. I'm having a hard time though with the colors. Not sure if they changed the colors but cannot find hot chocolate mix my go to for elite and few other older styles, in the newer styles. Also, the same color in different collections look somewhat different. I purchased this in dark chocolate mix and starting wearing it recently and don't see too much highlights, granted i haven't washed it yet, for some reason that makes a difference sometimes in the fiber. I have amina in the same color and although a rich brown you can see all of the highlights, this has more of a inky look, I can wear easily as my eyes are very dark and my coloring is okay with it. I definitely love this style, and will someday down the road when i can get a good deal try the chocolate shaded. This wig is a bit out of my budget so cannot buy full price at the moment.Jen G.

Nora is a delightful fluff and go style with waves and almost curls. I got it in color 38, which is light ash brown with grey. It is supposed to be light ash brown with 25 percent grey (it seems a bit more than that;) It would be nice if Paula Young had at least one style featured in this color. The ash brown is very close to my natural color (a bit lighter) but Nora has more grey than I do personally. Nora arrived smelling absolutely wretched; I almost gagged when I opened the box. I had to wash the wig immediately. I used Paula Young shampoo. I thought I detected the (fumigant?) odor even after the wash, but when Nora dried, she no longer smelled. When I first put her on after she'd dried she was not pretty and the curls were mashed against the cap. I shook her vigorously and then took a wide tooth comb and really brought the fibers up off the cap. I wasn't rough, but I was deliberate in going over the entire wig to revive the fibers. I was able to achieve a style very similar to the catalog photo. In my photos, Nora has a more shag-like appearance, but once on she can be fluffed to the rounded silhouette of the catalog photo. Nora fits my 22.25 inch head comfortably and could be adjusted to go even a bit larger, or smaller. I find the fibers dry to the touch and just a bit coarser than my own very fine hair (although Nora's fiber does not look coarse.) Nora is comfortable to wear and an adorable style that goes with dressy as well as casual outfits. If you are prepared to spend a few moments waking Nora up after you first get her home, I think you will be pleasantly surprised at her fluff and go versatility. When this DANCE wig and COLOR ME EXQUISITE wigs arrived, upon removing them from the box they were cute, and the colors were pretty and the best thing they had going for them, However, they didn't look much like the ones the models in the pictures wore. And there is too much perma tease or "fluff" to them. They had really no style to them at all. Especially in the front, just couldn't do much with them. And didn't want to try since being careful with them is a must when trying them on. Very disappointed with these wigs. In my humble opinion they were not great and not keepers. So I am returning them and probably won't buy anymore wigs again. Sorry PY but your wigs need to be lighter weight, lay nicer, (some of us like a bit flatter style) far less perma tease or fluff, easier to wear right out of the box…Thanks anyway…Juanita
I am completely disappointed with my purchase. I ordered two of this wig because I really like the look of the style in the picture. The wigs I received will not comb into the style shown. The top is spiked and will only stand straight up and the bangs stick straight out and will not lay nicely against the forehead. I tried to tame it down with wig spray and hair gel but it won't lay down. The top hair stands straight up and the bangs stick straight out. The wig will not comb into a nice smooth pixie like the picture shows. I would not recommend a person buy this wig unless you want spiked hair that stands straight up at the top of your head and bangs that stick straight out at your forehead. The style does not resemble the picture at all !Eve

Online reviewers seem to be avoiding this wig or making a big deal about how much permatease there is in it, so I was a little nervous about ordering it. But it turned out to look really cute on me, and I appreciate how the fullness on top balances out some of my facial features (and my large glasses), while the shag style also gives me some length in back. The melted marshmallow color looks good, too, although the pale tips aren't as obvious as they would be on a straighter, less layered style like Alva or Kai. The dark root does a good job of camouflaging the permatease at the part. The wig is also remarkably light and breathable. I think the fit is just a little on the petite side of average – I'm just over 21.5 inches in circumference with close-shaved hair, and it fits fine without taking in the adjusters. There seems to be a decent amount of stretch if you're larger than me, so it may work for someone up to 22 inches, or someone with more hair than me. I should note that Storm wasn't a true "shake & go" wig out of the box. The ends in back weren't always as flippy as the photos showed, and some of the bangs stuck straight out in front, even after misting with water. I used a steamer on the bangs to get them to lie where I wanted them and will eventually work on the flipped ends in back. I'd be more annoyed at this if I'd paid a lot more money, but I'm willing to accept a certain amount of work on my part for a basic cap at an affordable price point. All in all, I'm quite happy with my purchase, and I would encourage others who may be curious about this wig to check it out. Just be aware that it might not be perfect right out of the box and may need some work to look its best on you (work that should only be performed *after* you've determined you want to keep the wig).Patricia L.
I love this wig. It has great movement in the hair, very realistic. It is comfortable to wear. I can be a tough fit – need the average circumference but some wigs have too much gaping in the back of my head. This one isn't too bad, fits fairly well. The color is fabulous and I have gotten so many compliments on it. The length is perfect. I prefer myself with bangs and this one just meets all the criteria for me. Not bad for 69 on my way to 70 – wearing it makes me look, and feel, younger. I got it in Moonstone and now it seems that color doesn't exit any longer. I ordered this in creamy toffee rooted after having it in mochachino. Somehow it looked better in the darker color. It's a beautiful wig if you can pin down the sides near the top, reducing the retro looking volume. I think this style is best suited for someone more statuesque. It's cute but it looks dated on me. Possibly just too young of a look at this point. The creamy toffee color though was very nice on this style, a little less gold with more light blonde running through it. That's a big improvement in the color because I've bought this color before and been disappointed with the gold.FAITH b.

I ordered the wig in 101–platinum ash with beige highlights–to try it out. It arrived 10 days after I placed the order. To my taste the color was sickly yellow and unnatural looking. The wig had plenty of hair and was of acceptable quality. I returned it for an exchange as required when a non-clearance wig costs $29.99. This is the first time I have bought an item that is exchange only. I mailed it at the PO on Oct 16 using the pre-paid return label and as of today, Oct 30, per USPS tracking, it still has not arrived at PY. My usual practice, to assure that I quickly receive something I want when I make a mistake, is to place a new, separate order for the replacement item and return the unwanted item for credit using the return label. But to exchange this wig forced me to return it and the exchange order in the same box, dooming me to an unacceptably long wait. I mailed it from the PO on Oct 16 and as of today, Oct 30, per USPS tracking, it still has not been delivered to the PY facility. How long will I have to wait for the replacement? Will it be here for Thanksgiving? Is there a faster way to do exchanges?Carolyn
I purchased two wigs, same color but different styles. "Paige" arrived new and presented well, stuffed with tissue and surrounded by a hair net and carefully placed in its box to preserve the style and shape. "Chantal" was thrown into the box, inside out, with no tissue, no hairnet, absolutely no care whatsoever taken. It did not appear to be new or clean and when turned rightside out it looked as if the hair on the top had been cut, ratted, and a large piece of it stuck up like a rooster tail and will not lay flat. It looked as though it had been mistreated, returned, and then was sent out to me as "new" without even being checked. Also, although the colors, as listed on the boxes, were supposed to be the same, one was darker "rooted" and the other was all one color its entire length. (?!) While taking the required pictures to include with review, I also noticed that the labeling on the Chantal box was different and the also different tags on it were attached with an aftermarket cord and loose ziptie for the tag that says can't return if removed! I do hope PY stands behind their name and product and makes this right. I will let others know whichever way this works out.S
Needs hairspray to hold bangs in place. Tends to tangle, especially in the back. Hard to run a large tooth comb through the tangles. Some of the hairs came through to the inside of the cap after washing. Not sure how to get them back on the outside of the cap. Like the color, as it comes close to matching my own hair color, so if any natural hair pokes out, especially around front of ears, it is not noticable.
