20 Paula Young Comfort Wig For Sale (2023 Update)

Nora is a delightful fluff and go style with waves and almost curls. I got it in color 38, which is light ash brown with grey. It is supposed to be light ash brown with 25 percent grey (it seems a bit more than that;) It would be nice if Paula Young had at least one style featured in this color. The ash brown is very close to my natural color (a bit lighter) but Nora has more grey than I do personally. Nora arrived smelling absolutely wretched; I almost gagged when I opened the box. I had to wash the wig immediately. I used Paula Young shampoo. I thought I detected the (fumigant?) odor even after the wash, but when Nora dried, she no longer smelled. When I first put her on after she'd dried she was not pretty and the curls were mashed against the cap. I shook her vigorously and then took a wide tooth comb and really brought the fibers up off the cap. I wasn't rough, but I was deliberate in going over the entire wig to revive the fibers. I was able to achieve a style very similar to the catalog photo. In my photos, Nora has a more shag-like appearance, but once on she can be fluffed to the rounded silhouette of the catalog photo. Nora fits my 22.25 inch head comfortably and could be adjusted to go even a bit larger, or smaller. I find the fibers dry to the touch and just a bit coarser than my own very fine hair (although Nora's fiber does not look coarse.) Nora is comfortable to wear and an adorable style that goes with dressy as well as casual outfits. If you are prepared to spend a few moments waking Nora up after you first get her home, I think you will be pleasantly surprised at her fluff and go versatility. Coverage around the ears and nape is great.Lisa

When this DANCE wig and COLOR ME EXQUISITE wigs arrived, upon removing them from the box they were cute, and the colors were pretty and the best thing they had going for them, However, they didn't look much like the ones the models in the pictures wore. And there is too much perma tease or "fluff" to them. They had really no style to them at all. Especially in the front, just couldn't do much with them. And didn't want to try since being careful with them is a must when trying them on. Very disappointed with these wigs. In my humble opinion they were not great and not keepers. So I am returning them and probably won't buy anymore wigs again. Sorry PY but your wigs need to be lighter weight, lay nicer, (some of us like a bit flatter style) far less perma tease or fluff, easier to wear right out of the box…Thanks anyway…Juanita

The top is spiked and will only stand straight up and the bangs stick straight out and will not lay nicely against the forehead. i absolutely love this wig! it's beautiful, comfortable and not too hot for my southern climate. i always receive compliments when I wear it and you can't beat the price. it has nice height (volume) on the top and the mono crown is super realistic. i'm surprised that the back is so light and doesn't feel like a bunch of hair sitting against my neck (i hate that feeling). it comes delightfully straight with a little bend at the ends. swings beautifully and works well with glasses and smaller earrings. the bangs were perfect for me and stay put- but they're for real- if you like a whispy bang this ain't it. the honey color i ordered is gorgeous although a bit lighter than i was expecting, but I love it so much i think i'll get another one for days when I feel like going darker!Andrew

This wig is my new hair. Period. My hair has been thinning since 2008 from medication. I decided to find a wig now before it gets any worse. I have bought and returned about 8 wigs in my search for the perfect wig. They were all either too much hair, not enough, unnatural looking or didn't fit. I finally found my wig, and in my natural color. My own mother didn't know I was wearing a wig. She just thought I cut my bangs! This wig is great right out of the box. I did a lot of research before settling on ""Heather"" and I bought her along with Sky, which apparently is discontinued. (Loved Sky as well) I also learned a great deal about wig care and wig wearing on youtube. Also you MUST buy a wig grip band on amazon. The velvet band the same color as your wig. (a dark band will show through a light wig) Check out youtubes for caring for wigs. Particularly using Woolite and Downy for washing and conditioning. I hope this helps someone. It is the result of hours of research. PS the wig grip makes the wig comfortable and in place without bobby pins. It's true. After buying my Heather, I bought two more. I thought I would try a couple shorter ones and they are going back tomorrow to be exchanged for… you guessed it, another Heather! this is a very nice wig – short, layered back. I trimmed the bangs. Fits like a size small rather than regular, but I prefer small. Definately a favorite now.Traci

I was excited when I first opened the box. The texture and color of the hair was perfect. BUT, you can see the wefting and even when I pulled my own hair through, (which takes a LONG time), you can still see the wefting. The piece doesn't stay in place either. There are no clips to hold it in place. I was excited that I found a piece that would help cover my thinning hair at an affordable price (My husband and I were just laid off due to covid impact on our company). My hair is thinning and has to be washed daily to give it body. So I wanted a wig that I could use that looked like my hair to wear when I skip a day washing mine. It took me a fews weeks to get brave enough to wear it, but today I worked with it and pulled some of my hair through it and styled it like mine. I wore it to visit a friend and she didn't comment as if she thought it was my hair. I was amazed at how much it did look like mine. It's not uncomfortable, but I know it's own. I need to sew some wig clips in it since he feels like it pulls up in the back and makes my head itch from the movement. I've never worn a wig, so I'm adjusting and learning. I've order 3 wigs and so far this is the only one that I didn't trim & actually like the style. It's not as thick as the other wigs and therefore, I think it looks more natural. I don't think it looks exactly like the photo on display, but I think it depends on how much of your hair you pull through. I only pulled some around the hair line. Give it a try if you get the correct color. I ordered the Golden Wheat & love the 2 tones in it.I think I'm going to enyoy it once I adjust to wearing it. Absolutely love the volumizer as I've never liked the wig feel with a full cap. It's just too hot for me living in the South but this piece is open weave to pull my own hair through which feel cooler and stays in place much better for me. My only disappointment was the top which has very little hair sewn in that my scalp shows through in places. But then I have almost no hair of my own so there's nothing to pull through. I'm continuing to work with creative ways to pull my hair from lower and it's getting better the more I work with it.TERESA

I liked my Casey wigs but I LOVE Ivy and my friends do too. I wish it was a little whispery or feathery but imagine it will loosen up with use. Looks great in buttered toast. I’ll probably buy another in a lighter shade and I’m looking at Blair also but fear it might be too much hair. What to do what to do. Only one head and so many wigs!Alma

I Bought this wig for my Great Grandma. She had been talking about getting it for months and finally decided to buy it for her a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately she ended up in the hospital a couple days before the wig had arrived. She did get to see it and try it on one time before she passed away a couple of days later. However she did wear it to her funeral. 😞 Even though I wish she would have gotten to wear it more while she was still on earth with us; I want to say thank you for making my Grandma look like her beautiful self at her end. ❤️I know she would have loved it and I highly recommend this wig to anyone else that is thinking of ordering it.Tiffany

Very good. Everyone compliments when I go out and no one thinks I’m wearing a wig. I’m in 70’s so I couldn’t choose young looking one. I used to have this type of hairdo in ‘60 and ‘70. Old fashion OK with me. Years ago I had one wig and one hairpiece from your company. I gave to a charity when wig fashion stopped. Now with Corvid, I cannot go to hair salon so a friend cut my hair real short and I look like a boy! I don’t like so A1142 Ivy just right. I’ll be ordering another one but short cut style. This is a gorgeous wig. The hair is divine. Beautiful color and curls. You cant help running your fingers through it. The style is a tad dated, sort of like a style out of the sixties when you ratted the top of your hair to get that all important height. Needless to say , I will wear it in all its glory and imagine myself in one of those old movies. Ahh, which one?Ellymay

I was promised by PaulaYoung catalog and notice that arrived with the 2 wigs I ordered that I would get a full refund if wigs were not right for me. I sent these back within 3 days of there arrival in all good faith There is no refund on my credit card bill. Now I have to go through the whole process of denying these purchases through my credit card company. Your policy is to offer and not follow through is in fact illegal. I already have a PY topper in 56-Silver which is a lovely grey/brown/black blend purchased in May 2020. My recent purchase of the Ryan wig in 56-Silver is 100% silver in color and nothing like the piece I already have. The box is marked correctly as a 56- Silver however there obviously was a packing error or very obvious color/formula change since May 2020. CS offered up empty apologies & will charge me $9.00 return shipping PLUS $19.00 restocking fee. No thanks. Lesson learned. I won’t buy another Paula Young product if they can’t even fix their own mistake & would not recommend that anyone else does either.Susan

I thought I was getting a two for one deal the ad confused me my problems with the wig is I don’t have any hair hardly I suffer with staph in my hair from hurricanes in Louisiana . Haveing no cure I can’t grow hair. So when I put the wig on I have no hair under the wig to attach a Bobby pins to so I measured my head but because I don’t have an exact attach to my own head the wig is always sliding up . An also in addition to the wig on Staying on. No ways to protect the wig from getting the bacteria staph , on the wig hair like a light silk inside the hair that have a light snap that would give the wig to stay on. Now it was a Paula jones wig what I did like a lot was the fact that the wig didn’t have to Hair even though I can’t grow hair the Paula jones wig gets an AAA for not having too Hair so a lot of people who are small like me don’t have very thick hair. Paula jones wig Actually have a wig that a normal as to the amount of hair in the wig. When I ever bought wigs from other sources every time I tried a wig that wasn’t Paula jones wig EVERY wig I bought was a waste of a lot r money because my husband hurt my feelings telling me to take the OTHER kind of wigs offf because they didn’t look normal because my face n body was meant for hair that is fine an thin. Too much hair on other wigs is bad . ONLY PAULA JOnes Wigs have a normal to fine thin hair when you where them makes me feel at least a lil normal when we go out like everybody isn’t stearin at me like I’m a freak also I am sixty so I needed a salt n pepper kind of color to look more normal for me. I have worn Tony of Beverly wigs for eight years and previously ordered them from other websites, with great success and no alterations needed. My mom has ordered her wigs from Paula Young via mail for many years, so I was excited to order my first wig from Paula Young. This style, color, and price (with free shipping) were exactly what I was looking for. The order was accurate and arrived in a timely manner. The color and back of the wig are wonderful. I didn't give this wig a higher rating because it is rather thin and has too much movement on the sides and keeps falling into my eyes when I barely turn my head or there is just a hint of a breeze outside. Because of the way the wig was constructed, it took an experienced hair cutter over an hour to figure out how to trim the bangs (which were way down to the tip of my nose).Diane

My first ever wig purchase was a bust! I was hopeful that I would love them (I bought 2) when they arrived. Very professional packaging. Once I gave the wig a little shake and let everything settle,i prepared to put on. My best friend orders your wigs all the time but hers are all a light brown or blonde and she recommended getting the “rooted” colors. Mine was flame rooted so I was expecting a deeper shade of red. This is a deep brown and black at the roots, which to me looks VERY unnatural. I’ve had auburn hair most of my life but never those kind of roots! I was borderline in sizing and know now that I should have ordered a large because even after adjusting the Velcro it still did not sit well on my head. I was feeling a bit down the other day then the Mail came!!! Emerson is such a beautiful and sassy wig that makes me feel 10 years younger!! The color is perfect, shaded honey, and the fibers are so soft! The only thing I changed was that I added a soft bang which worked out great!! This is an easy shake and go style too!! First time buying a wig and I love it. Close to the style I use to ware before my hair started to get thin. I had to trim the bangs a little with pinking shears and they look great. I love Juno! This is my everyday go-to wig, I wear it all the time. It is very similar to how my hair looked before alopecia. It is so easy to pop on after a quick brushing and stays "put" all day long. Sometimes I forget I'm wearing it. My hair dresser did give the bangs a quick trim and a bit on the sides but not much, just enough to make it a little more "me". I have ordered a 2nd one for back up. When this DANCE wig and COLOR ME EXQUISITE wigs arrived, upon removing them from the box they were cute, and the colors were pretty and the best thing they had going for them, However, they didn't look much like the ones the models in the pictures wore. And there is too much perma tease or "fluff" to them. They had really no style to them at all. Especially in the front, just couldn't do much with them. And didn't want to try since being careful with them is a must when trying them on. Very disappointed with these wigs. In my humble opinion they were not great and not keepers. So I am returning them and probably won't buy anymore wigs again. Sorry PY but your wigs need to be lighter weight, lay nicer, (some of us like a bit flatter style) far less perma tease or fluff, easier to wear right out of the box…Thanks anyway…Juanita

I am completely disappointed with my purchase. I ordered two of this wig because I really like the look of the style in the picture. The wigs I received will not comb into the style shown. The top is spiked and will only stand straight up and the bangs stick straight out and will not lay nicely against the forehead. I tried to tame it down with wig spray and hair gel but it won't lay down. The top hair stands straight up and the bangs stick straight out. The wig will not comb into a nice smooth pixie like the picture shows. I would not recommend a person buy this wig unless you want spiked hair that stands straight up at the top of your head and bangs that stick straight out at your forehead. The style does not resemble the picture at all !Eve

Nora is a delightful fluff and go style with waves and almost curls. I got it in color 38, which is light ash brown with grey. It is supposed to be light ash brown with 25 percent grey (it seems a bit more than that;) It would be nice if Paula Young had at least one style featured in this color. The ash brown is very close to my natural color (a bit lighter) but Nora has more grey than I do personally. Nora arrived smelling absolutely wretched; I almost gagged when I opened the box. I had to wash the wig immediately. I used Paula Young shampoo. I thought I detected the (fumigant?) odor even after the wash, but when Nora dried, she no longer smelled. When I first put her on after she'd dried she was not pretty and the curls were mashed against the cap. I shook her vigorously and then took a wide tooth comb and really brought the fibers up off the cap. I wasn't rough, but I was deliberate in going over the entire wig to revive the fibers. I was able to achieve a style very similar to the catalog photo. In my photos, Nora has a more shag-like appearance, but once on she can be fluffed to the rounded silhouette of the catalog photo. Nora fits my 22.25 inch head comfortably and could be adjusted to go even a bit larger, or smaller. I find the fibers dry to the touch and just a bit coarser than my own very fine hair (although Nora's fiber does not look coarse.) Nora is comfortable to wear and an adorable style that goes with dressy as well as casual outfits. If you are prepared to spend a few moments waking Nora up after you first get her home, I think you will be pleasantly surprised at her fluff and go versatility. Coverage around the ears and nape is great.Lisa

I was terribly disappointed in the hair piece I purchased. I had deliberately purchased a small item to ascertain the quality of your products, thinking that I might be a regular customer if the hair piece was as advertised. Unfortunately, it wasn't. The color and the texture were all wrong….it didn't even come close to looking like real hair. I returned my purchase the day after I received it, and I'm still waiting for my refund. I have worn the Whisper Light Delicate Touch for years and folks don't even know. I have several (color 60) and it matches my hair perfectly. It's so easy to put on, stays out and the volume is just right. I'm a senior citizen and my hair has begun to thin. I wear them all the time and wouldn't be without them❣️. Even my closest friends have been shocked if I've told them I have on a wiglet I re hairpiece!Jean

Ordered 3 to get the appropriate color. None were really perfect for me. Will be returning two soon. It seems a full wig is more appropriate for me at this point. My hair is very thin all over and really thin on top, so even the WhisperLite is too heavy with hair and too large. 50% of the size and straighter this is would have worked better. Length was good. Not really happy with what I have kept but this is no fault of yours. The color is just enough off to be a distraction, so would work with a full wig.Janice

I received this wig – # A1228, Meg Whisperlite Petit in SF 51/60. I returned it because it appeared to have been a return. It was thinned out or trimmed in some way that completely changed the style. I ordered and paid for a new wig. I own 7 of these wigs in this style, color and size, so I know what they should look like. I was very disappointed. This is actually the second time this has happened to me, but this time instead of trying to make the best of it and use something I was not happy with, I returned it for an exchange. I don’t think I should have to pay any restock charge or any other charge for this return. It was your fault in sending me a defective wig, not mine. I wear them as styled straight out of the box as they are. I am telling you, this one did not look like, nor was it the quality I have had in the past with this wig. I am not happy.Jo

This order is yet another attempt to find something that is wearable from PY. I bought 2 of these Meg wigs in different colors, and sent back the Lt Blonde, it looked like a light bulb on my head. The other one in Platinum blonde looks like a barbie dolls hair. I powdered it but it still glows. I paid my hair dresser to cut it down, and I trimmed it again. Pro: This order looked new, unworn. (My first looked very worn, I returned it.) Cons: Netting in front shows unless you plaster hair down just right. Sides & back are way too thick. Mine's been trimmed 2 times and it's still too much. The picture shows the hair off the neck, but after wearing the wig for 6 hours, my neck & upper back where the hair rubbed it was red and sore from the scratchy synthetic hair. I used the wrap band to keep it in place, and knew the wig made me extremely hot but when I took the wig off, my whole head was a sweaty mess. I haven't worn it since. I hate it. I ordered 2 Wiglets 7 days ago, in Humane Hair to see if that can work. They were suppose to "arrive no later than 4pm today," but no show. (I've come to NOT rely on this company's word though. So it didn't surprise me. Who knows when they'll show up.) Hope this review will help others. Keep your expectations very low with PY.LISA

You’ve changed the Meg wig, and not for the better. I bought this wig in 2015 and I loved it. Last year my sister bought the same wig. She came to my house with it, not happy. Saying differs than one I bought. I didn’t think she was right then. I do now, after recently buying again. It’s shorter. And let me say, I got a recent catalog, saw many I liked. The problem, only a select few in petite sizes. So I not Meg again, and disappointed in the change.Linda

Hi, I have been purchasing this Shannon wig for 8yrs now and have "Never" been dis-appointed! The Shannon wig is not only durable for daily wear and holds up very well wash after was it also, is my go to wig for a quick updo for special occasions!!! My color of choice is Wheat Rooted because I have fair skin and green eyes and boy does this rooted color make my eyes pop!!! For some reason unknown to doctors when I was just 24yrs old I lost all my hair over a span of 8 months and battling cervical cancer as well! As a young woman I was devastated and experiencing depression, chemo was brutal to say the least. I had a young family to raise and had to hold down a high pressure job where personal appearances mattered!!! So needless to say I was forced into buying those old fashioned bulky and ugly wigs. Then came the more natural looking wigs that were way over priced. All I can say is thank you Wig.com and Paula Young for making such durable cute and chic looking wigs at such affordable prices!!! I also, have purchased Avery wig and Nola wig and I'm currently deciding to purchase the new Sloane wig (if you haven't checked out any of these wigs, please do so)!!! The "Special Bonus" is all of these wigs are "Versa Fiber Wigs" as well as Heat Friendly. This is key to all of the wigs I have mentioned being extremely durable shampoo after shampoo & conditioner to holding up so well!!! You can stick your head near the oven when cooking, take a walk on a hot and or humid day, sunbathe etc..etc and all of these wigs will hold up to all of what I just mentioned! Of course don't forget to purchase the correct wig shampoo, wig spray conditioner and wig spray found on both Wig.com and Paula Young. These accessories are really very important for proper wig care!!! Also, if you can afford it please splurge on a good wig stand and wig travel case, which are also found on Wig com. Stay tuned because I will be posting photos of the above mentioned wigs really soon. I will show you the various ways they can be effortlessly styled in updos and curled or just straight out of the box after just a few shakes!!! I’ve worn Shannon for many years and I love it! I’ve tried other styles, I always go back to my favorite, Shannon. I get compliments all the time! I’ve had beautician friends that were shocked when I told them I had a wig on! They fry very quickly and are so easy to style. I lost most of my hair because of medication that I take for a bladder and thyroid disease. Paula Young has changed my life with the Shannon wig. I am forever grateful. I am 74 years old. I can't say enough good things about the Carson wig. I ordered her in Spiced Coconut and the color is fabulous. For once the picture is actually spot on. I do wish she came in a better selection of colors tho, such as a vibrant red or even black with chunky blonde highlights as I would definitely purchase her in those shades. As for comfort, she is very lightweight, so much so that I almost forgot I had her on. And she is not high maintenance either, just shake her a bit and you're ready to go, no styling necessary. So, if you're into the shorter, low maintenance styles, Carson is a keeper and will not disappoint.James

I have purchased 4 of the Carson 24/1 BR in Spiced Coconut in the past 3 years and have always been extremely pleased. People actually stop me in the grocery store & want to know who does my hair and color and they can't believe it is a wig. This was my 5th one. I was highly disappointed at the quality and style of this last one. The color was the same but the style was flat even after shaking it vigorously like I always do. I tried styling it by trying to lift it with a pick but it still was flat. I was very disappointed because I love the Carson wig. I have purchased 4 or more different styles through the past 4 years but I always come back to the Carson. However, this one was a major disappointment.Sandra
