You buy something like this to enhance or for costume wear. In my honest opinion, this is not realistic as real hair and will look like a wig. My biggest negative point would be that if you comb through the tangles (it does tangle easily), a good amount of hair does come off. Maybe because it's new, I do not know. The other minor thing, you can't really shape the wig at all, but I didn't expect it would do this anyway. I like to dress up and mainly bought this because I have natural, very long dark hair and wanted to try "red" without dyeing my hair. I do think this is an all around nice wig and it was a great price..included a wig cap and comb. But it always was a one time purchase for me and I never expected this to be or look like the real thing. This wig was a challenge to get on my teenage son's head, and a bigger challenge to keep there. Once on, it looked nothing like the picture on the packaging. Even after some attempts at brushing. It didn't even look like something had crawled on his head and died. Because it didn't look real enough to even have that going for it. The strands of "hair" were sparse enough that you could see the base netting. I finally told him that his costume would look better with his real hair; how readily he agreed was an indication of just how uncomfortable it was. Thank goodness it wasn't that expensive. (Other items I bought at the same time were fine, just what I expected and reasonably priced. But the wig was heinous.)Me
