Raquel Welch Large Cap Wigs For Sale (2023 Update)

I love this wig! This is the first time that people have asked me where I get my hair highlighted because this wig looks this natural! HF fiber is my favorite but it definitely doesn't last as long. It will dry out so you have to use moisture spray on it, either the Heat Defiant Detangler or some type of watered down spray detangle product. Just spray and let dry completely before using wide tooth wig comb or wide tooth wig brush. This will help prolong life. You can also snip dry ends carefully. The lace fronts on Raquel Welch wigs are the best imo, and this one is great. This cap is well constructed and the mono top is wonderful, a must have. (I love 100% hand tied caps but the one offered in this style is a little large on me, but I do have a small head. ) The Raquel Welch Shadow Shades, SS, are the most realistic, they are gorgeous. Her caps are a bit large imo, except for the petite caps, which are perfect for me. Her hand tied caps are wonderful, but again, I'm a very petite lady and they are too large for me. I wish this style was about 7% to 10% thicker, just my opinion. This is a phenomenal wig. The cut is timeless and well done, beautiful. The flow of the hair fiber is gorgeous! Try her! I so love the Spotlight in Shaded Biscuit RL19/23SS. She's a lot more platinum and less yellow than i expected, but I kept her. Its true Blondes have more fun. I've been going brunette for so long thought I'd try this. And you would not believe the response and compliments I've received on this wig in this color. I originally wanted the new Mesmerize, but at my age (56) this wig is slightly shorter and lighter weight, so an instant winner. Can you pull this off at 56 .. absolutely! Velvet temples are nice, and full lace top, can be parted on any side or middle. Super soft hair material as well.Skye G.

I loved Muse when I first received it. I loved the honey pecan color, and I think Raquel Welch synthetic fiber colors are so much better than what's available in their heat friendly wigs. (The heat friendly line lacks nice light brown colors with cool highlights. There are too many red, dark roots, and bold chunky highlights.) But Muse does not look like the picture. It appears much shorter and matronly. It's a nice enough wig, but I'm not crazy about it. The wig cap was too roomy and poofed up on my heat. I then discovered that my head measurements are petite average and that Muse was probably too large for me. Since it's a hand-tied cap, there is no way to make it smaller. I kept it and wear it to do errands. The fiber is stiff and does not move as well as my recently purchased Ellen Wille wig with synthetic fiber.Janice Q.

This wig was one my husband chose for me but once he saw me try it on, he said for me to choose instead of him! It looked awful on me, it pulledmy features down and made me look 10 years older, not what I was trying to achieve. I am age 70, but like shoet edgy hairdos. The wig had too much hair for me too. Yes I could have tried to style it and had it thinned out, but even then I could not be sure it would work and then it would be too late to return. I know all the YouTube reviewers say this is wonderful and fun but it isn't what I want to do – I wish my bio hair looked like this wig. It is lovely – soft and flattering for probably anyone. However, I may still return, I have tried in on for a bit several days in a row, still not sure. These may be things I just have to live with now that I have to do this to have normal 'hair'. 1.) Lace front – if I do keep this one, I will NEVER buy a lace front again. Unfortunately, it is very hard to find a nice, well made hairpiece without it because everyone else seems to love lace front – NOT ME. I don't like that you cannot pull your bio hair out from under (I know that it is great if you have no hair, but I have plenty around my face and would like to incorporate – Sincerely Yours by RW was perfect but too short). And though it DOES look very nice (I really didn't think it would look so realistic, it truly looks like a real hairline up close), it is HORRIBLY itchy. Like stiff, itchy netting and I can't wait to take it off. Maybe if I try gluing it won't itch so much? 2. I TOO much hair, as with most all of the hair pieces. While I can make this one work because it thankfully isn't LOADED up with that fake feeling/looking permatease (I know some people love it, I do NOT on me), it is still GOBS of hair. I push my hair behind my ears and I would have to have massive ears to fit the gobs falling in front of my face behind my ear; it is like trying to tuck a large rope behind my ear. Not sure why manufacturers think someone who has had hair loss or very thin hair all of the sudden will feel comfortable with a wooly mammoth strapped tightly to their raw noggin. Again, this one could be okay because I could take thinning shears to it and make it work if I keep this wig. 3. Speaking of the front bit… as other reviewers remarked, OMG does it want to go in your face. I don't want to use any product or heat on it yet because I am not sure I am keeping it so VERY difficult to tell if it will work because that is absolutely a problem. Would probably have to thin and cut that into layers – it is very pretty but no one goes around with a big chunk of hair hanging down like that all day. All of the hair on the cap is geared to go absolutely FORWARD, not sure why. It is something that would have to be worked out with heat, water and product. 4. Cap construction – Not super comfortable. Again, this is all new to me so maybe I am doing something wrong. I am using a wig grip so not sure if that adds to my discomfort. I will say that the seams around the mono part are thick and itchy. I would rather a whole mono top or a basic cap, rather than that seamed bit. Too much going on in the cap. So – if you are a regular wig wearer, this style will probably work for you; I am just not use to all these itches and things going on my head. Sort of like a pretty but uncomfortable underwire bra – you can deal but can't wait to get it off at the end of the day – that is how it feels for me. If this had the cap of the Sincerely Yours, I would have found my piece. Again, not sure if I am returning or not, but it is so expensive for me, for them not to be spot on. I need something that looks like ME and I can wear every day and it looks like normal, non-poufy, non-shiny hair and isn't going to rub my ear or itch my head, etc. I am probably hoping for too much. 🙁LJT

I love the True2Life HD fibers by Raquel Welch, they look and feel like human hair. But these are just extremely shiny and it has a lot of hair! The color Glazed Sand is really nice and the lace front on this style is impeccable, and as this was my first unrooted color, it’s even better and more undetectable than the rooted colors. But everyone tells me that this style looks like an old woman and I‘m just too young to look that old… 😅 Of course Wigstudio1 is not to blame, their service was first class, as always!Sarah C.

I have worn wigs for over 50 years and have experienced the good, the bad, and the ****. I have worn inexpensive and expensive, natural and synthetic wigs. I cannot believe how completely disappointed I am with this wig. At this price point I would have expected much better quality. Severe matting occurred in less than a month. I have had the wig for only one month and it looks like I have had it for 6 months. I wear my wigs daily and they usually last 3 – 6 months depending on the brand. The hair fibers at less than 1 month of wearing this wig feel like dried cheap doll's hair! I was so embarrassed when one of my friends at church touched my hair and got a funny look on her face. I paid over $400.00 dollars for this wig. I am ashamed to wear it anymore and feel like I just wasted a lot of money. I have never written a review for a wig before. I felt an obligation to write this review to save others from wasting their money and to send a message to Raquel Welch that I as well as other customers deserve much better quality especially at that price. I have had at least one other Raquel Welch wig ( I think Spotlight ) and was not disappointed like this. This wig is a new addition to the Raquel Welch collection. It looks beautiful in the pictures but after a couple of weeks of wearing is probably one of the poorest and cheapest looking not to mention shortest lasting wigs I have ever bought. I see that it is now on sale for $290.00 which I still think is too much but wish I had spent that instead of over $400.00.Diana F.

Update….I previously wrote a review on this wig. I love the realistic hair fiber (but wish they could improve heat friendly hair fiber so it lasted longer) and the hand tied cap and the lace front are both wonderful but the Cap is Huge on this wig. Sadly, I won't be able to buy more of this piece because of the large cap size, so much so that it's baggy on my head. Disappointing because the cut is gorgeous.Lovewigs2

I've been wearing wigs a very long time, so I know occasionally one will not thrill me at first. This one, though, I hated. I kept trying it on, changing the part, combing through, etc. Day after day I tried until I finally decided to do something a little drastic. The ends of the hair are razor cut and a bit shattered. The wig I received had multiple points that were sticking out and looked, to me, like I'd received a bad haircut. I trimmed all of the 'points' off. After combing through again, that small change made all the difference. Now, it looks much better. The fully handtied cap is very comfortable. The density is quite full. The heat friendly fiber has no shine, mine is even dull (RL14/22). The length is below the shoulder (I'm 5'5"). The hairline is beautiful with a completely undetectable lace front, which is why I love Raquel Welch wigs. The color I usually wear is RL14/25 Raquel Welch or 14/26 Jon Renau. These colors are almost identical with the RW color being a tiny bit more ginger and much better blended than the JR. This time, however, I chose RL14/22. It has a few "streaks" of a very light blonde and, to me, is not as dynamic as RL14/25. There's a nice light blonde around the face, I was just expecting more of it. All in all, now that I've tamed this one, I have to say it's great. Very natural, comfortable, and NO itchy lace front. My Jon Renau wigs lace front drives me insane after a while. Raquel Welch lace fronts are comfortable all day long. I love it now.Elizabeth

I love the True2Life HD fibers by Raquel Welch, they look and feel like human hair. But these are just extremely shiny and it has a lot of hair! Like stiff, itchy netting and I can't wait to take it off. Maybe if I try gluing it won't itch so much? 2. I TOO much hair, as with most all of the hair pieces. While I can make this one work because it thankfully isn't LOADED up with that fake feeling/looking permatease (I know some people love it, I do NOT on me), it is still GOBS of hair. I push my hair behind my ears and I would have to have massive ears to fit the gobs falling in front of my face behind my ear; it is like trying to tuck a large rope behind my ear. Wig # One: I just received my Sparkle Wig and I love it however the color is too white. According to the information in the packaging I can Try again —your can reorder now or wait, etc, and I have reordered now. Replacement: Wig # Two: I am returning the enclosed wig for several reasons. First, it is way too small. This is reorder from the first wig I received which was a great fit and style but was too white. The color of this replacement is perfect, but too small and not nearly as well styled as the first. I talked to a representative today and was instructed to return this one so that it could be replaced with the correct size and with proper styling. Please note that the enclosed return wig shows the correct size (A) but it is much smaller than the first one which was great, but too white. Also, the styling on this one is very centered on a part and has little shape even when shaken and finger styled. The first one (which was the too white one) had great styling right out of the box and no visible part. I've purchased this wig for several years now. I've had two different colors. One was a darker brunette and the other was this one R9S+ Glazed Mahogany. I love the color. The only thing I have noticed in ordering this style, one of the wigs in the brunette color, was cut different than the original one. I've noticed this with other styles of Raquel Welch wigs. It would be interesting to see how these wigs are manufactured. Other than that, it's a great wig. I still have my hair but it's thinning so much as I get older. I'll be 70 in April and I refuse to let nature take it's course. I have fun wearing them and my friends can't believe I wear a wig every now and then. Life is too short and I'm tired of wasting any more time in front of the mirror trying to fix hair that just isn't there anymore! I'm by no means bald but realty is closing in! I have bought Trendsetter in gradient charcoal for some years now and have 8 of them, having the best ones for special occasions, average for every day, and the other one for work. Now I have received the ninth one, and am SO disappointed. No longer does Trendsetter have flicked up waves, it is half the thickness that it was, and it is straight with no bounce. Has anyone else had this experience? I believe they are being made more cheaply, or have been taken over by an inferior company who have no idea what Trendsetter is supposed to be. I chose Glazed Vanilla and Silver Mist. The style is very flattering and super easy to wear. You just shake it out, put it on, comb the bangs into place a go! I've been a blonde for years so enjoy the Glazed Vanilla for work. The Silver Mist is gorgeous. Since I'm all grey now, it's a fun weekend wig. The Trendsetter is very comfortable to wear. It has a light airy feel, like your own hair. I wear an average size and it's great, with easy adjustable straps if you need a tighter fit. When I first received the wig I was worried that it would be too thin. But, when I am wearing it, I find that the lower density looks extremely natural and more realistic than the overly thick human hair wigs I have had in the past. The hair is very smooth and you can run your fingers right through it. I had the Kim by Jon Reneau which has extremely sick denier. I have this bravo wig in the color R 11 S. It looks extremely realistic as though my hair had been professionally highlighted. I also find the lace front to be the best I have ever worn. The netting is so fine that I truly can barely see it. This is the first wig I have on where I do not feel the need to cut the lace. Although some may not like the thin density for the shorter length, I find it perfect for every day wear. I was looking for a wig that was short enough to be comfortably worn every day easy to tuck behind the ears, yet long enough to be pulled back out of my face. Also I would like to add that this week does not shed at all so I am expecting it to last quite a while.I gave this four stars only because I do wish there was slightly more hair in the lower back region of the cap.Patricia D.

The most natural looking wig I have ever purchased. A friend who knows I wear wigs, asked if she was seeing my bio hair. I was wearing hand tied Center Stage with the lovely lace front when she sat across from me at a restaurant that day. Nothing more needs to be written to explain the 5 stars. Center Stage has the most natural looking 'part' and believable density. I currently have this in 2 different but similar colors. I am shocked to see negative reviews. All it takes is a little patience with water, spray and/or gel to fool even a best friend. I don't want to forget to rate the comfort level-also deserves 5 stars.NBS

It was impossible to do anything except stick it on and wear it as it was without it getting into a tangled mess. I reworked it completely.I removed all the curls using hot water method. I removed all tangles. I cut bangs into it. It finally smoothed out and was short enough and not too thick. I can now wear it up. I also got that awful shine out. I would not repurchase it but I am not unhappy with what I created from the original. if I had not found some way to redo it, it would have looked perfect for a Halloween costume only.Gayle M.

I absolutely love this wig! The color in platinum is gorgeous, the cap size is average and fits perfect. I wore this for a couple weeks before writing this review to see about shedding and there is little if any at all even with brushing. It comes curly, I took my flat iron on the lowest setting and was able to straighten it without any damage. The lace front is so realistic no one can tell that it's a wig, its not heavy and very light weight for so much hair, absolutely no thinning anywhere to be found! BIG 10 — I like talking with your knowledgeable staff. They answer my questions and make suggestions. Trend Setter is very stylish and I get lots of compliments. IV been wearing it in and off for several years. I like switching up my wits but always go back to Trend Setter. I really would love it if they made it in a human hair piece or heat friendly that would be so awesome. Imagine the sales going up. I know this wig is popular. I have bought Trendsetter in gradient charcoal for some years now and have 8 of them, having the best ones for special occasions, average for every day, and the other one for work. Now I have received the ninth one, and am SO disappointed. No longer does Trendsetter have flicked up waves, it is half the thickness that it was, and it is straight with no bounce. Has anyone else had this experience? I believe they are being made more cheaply, or have been taken over by an inferior company who have no idea what Trendsetter is supposed to be. My friends say “Have you had a hair cut? Oh well, it will grow!!” How disappointing!Virginia P.

I chose Glazed Vanilla and Silver Mist. The style is very flattering and super easy to wear. You just shake it out, put it on, comb the bangs into place a go! I've been a blonde for years so enjoy the Glazed Vanilla for work. The Silver Mist is gorgeous. Since I'm all grey now, it's a fun weekend wig. The Trendsetter is very comfortable to wear. It has a light airy feel, like your own hair. I wear an average size and it's great, with easy adjustable straps if you need a tighter fit. I couldn't be happier with how lovely and youthful a look this wig provides.Lucien J.

Was hesitant at first to try a blonde shaded wig as my hair is naturally dark brown with grey highlights. The wig is not overly thick to where it overwhelms my face. Being 71 years of age I needed something lighter and shorter with a bit of wave and this is it. Will post more photos after I see my stylist and he will customize it for me. I’ve been in love with Goddess every time I saw her, but felt I couldn’t afford her! So I would pick out a cheaper one that I liked to order! Goddess was always in the back of my mind though! I love Raquel Welch wigs anyway! I lhave 2 Editor’s Pick and several more, but I didn’t have Goddess! I finally gave in and bought her and I’m so happy I did! She’s the most well made wig and has the silkiest fibers and just the right length and of course the right color(shaded biscuit! I am so glad I bought her, she’s now my favorite wig of all! When I first received the wig I was worried that it would be too thin. But, when I am wearing it, I find that the lower density looks extremely natural and more realistic than the overly thick human hair wigs I have had in the past. The hair is very smooth and you can run your fingers right through it. I had the Kim by Jon Reneau which has extremely sick denier. I have this bravo wig in the color R 11 S. It looks extremely realistic as though my hair had been professionally highlighted. I also find the lace front to be the best I have ever worn. The netting is so fine that I truly can barely see it. This is the first wig I have on where I do not feel the need to cut the lace. Although some may not like the thin density for the shorter length, I find it perfect for every day wear. I was looking for a wig that was short enough to be comfortably worn every day easy to tuck behind the ears, yet long enough to be pulled back out of my face. Also I would like to add that this week does not shed at all so I am expecting it to last quite a while.I gave this four stars only because I do wish there was slightly more hair in the lower back region of the cap.Patricia D.

I‘m a huge Raquel Welch wigs fan, it’s my favorite brand. And I had my eyes on this style for a while and think the stock photo looks fabulous. But it’s my first and last style in regular synthetic. I love the True2Life HD fibers by Raquel Welch, they look and feel like human hair. But these are just extremely shiny and it has a lot of hair! The color Glazed Sand is really nice and the lace front on this style is impeccable, and as this was my first unrooted color, it’s even better and more undetectable than the rooted colors. But everyone tells me that this style looks like an old woman and I‘m just too young to look that old… 😅 Of course Wigstudio1 is not to blame, their service was first class, as always!Sarah C.

The most natural looking wig I have ever purchased. A friend who knows I wear wigs, asked if she was seeing my bio hair. I was wearing hand tied Center Stage with the lovely lace front when she sat across from me at a restaurant that day. Nothing more needs to be written to explain the 5 stars. Center Stage has the most natural looking 'part' and believable density. I currently have this in 2 different but similar colors. I am shocked to see negative reviews. All it takes is a little patience with water, spray and/or gel to fool even a best friend. I don't want to forget to rate the comfort level-also deserves 5 stars.NBS
