My daughter is a little on the bigger size for her age. She chose this costume, in an adult medium. The mask is NOT flimsy plastic, but a more heavy duty hard plastic that won't break easily. The costume was well made and awesome! I didn't realize it came with the mask, so I ended up buying the mask separately and now have 2. It is not too thin or thick of material so you might need a jacket, I just sucked it up, but I live where its warm. I got this as part of a set with my kids being the guards and baby being player one. We really freaked out people walking around, and we won a costume contest. It is a great costume; the mask is a little hard to see out of but I wear glasses so that might have contributed.cool mom
