We own a Newfoundland that loves the water. Last week of June we had a hot spell where temps were in the 90s consistently for days. Nights were humid. Trying to make sure all our dogs had plenty of water, we neglected to do a brush out at night under our Newfies chin and around his ears. Consequently mats formed over the hot days with areas not drying completely which made the mats worse. Mane n tail was recommended, it does work with smaller mats, I spent several moments every day working on the larger mats, following the directions, with very little success. We learned a valuable lesson with our Newfs fur and what we need to do better. Ended up cutting the larger mats to a smaller size, then applying Mane n Tail working on the smaller size mats. Our Newf was very patient but would only hold still for 1015 minutes provided I moved to different areas on his chin, chest and ears. Chewys delivery was great, smell of the product was fine. Its not a miracle mat untangler, also depends on the kind of fur being untangled. Works much better on our Great Pyrenees fur than our Newfie fur.Anonymous

I got this for my Jon Renau HD wig because it was matted and frizzy just after a few wears and this was recommended to me as a solution. I can’t say this changed my situation much but I don’t think this product is to blame, it’s the quality of the wig I suppose. After coming out with this product the wig is tangled again after wearing it for an hour.
My hairpieces after about a month have been getting frizzy, ratty ends and nothing helped. I just purchased this product and it worked like a charm! I will never be without it. The product works well for both detangling and conditioning. I use it nightly on the ends of NOT heat-friendly synthetic hair, combing it first with a wide tooth comb, then following with a tighter tooth comb, and third, a very close-tooth comb, then using hair clips horizontally to press those wild ends, due to their frizzy, non-friendly-heat pieces. It doesn’t “cure" it, but surely helps!

I have super thin/fine/bleached hair, that tangled easily. Whenever I wash my hair I have to use a detangler or leave in before I can brush through it. This did an amazing job and detangling my hair, I could brush through it without any issues after a few spritzes. However, the smell is soooo sweet, very artificial, candied, something. I thought it would dissipate over the course of the day and it did not. I kept getting whiffs of it and was like 'who is that!?'. For this price the truth is that I expected more surprising results. I don't notice any positive difference between using it and not using it, I think my hair looks better if I don't use it, and that's why right now it's collecting dust in a drawer. Keep in mind that my hair is bleached and colored, but despite that it is very healthy. I think the problem is that this product contains protein and my hair is low porosity, so protein just doesn't do my hair any good and makes it look worse. If your hair is high porosity (if you stick a hair strand in a glass of water and your hair sinks) then this product might be worth it for you.iHerb Customer

I have very fine, high porosity (very absorbent), blonde curly hair. I don't have the best of luck with styling creams, some work and some weigh my hair down, some feel very crispy, some make my hair look instantly greasy. This stuff works! I wash and condition (sun bum regular or Pacifica pineapple curls) and then put a little of this styling cream into my wet but not sopping wet hair. Then I sleep on it and in the morning my hair is good to go. Nice natural looking and feeling curls that stay in. As someone who has stick straight hair, I love this product. A disclaimer, my hair is not capable of getting that cute scrunched look. If I want curls, heat is my only option. I shower, add the styling cream (smells amazing), air dry overnight, and then curl in the morning. This is the only product that I have used that will help my hair hold the curls in all weather and all day. I also use very minimal hairspray after curling. My hair is living her best life with this curl cream!! I've been Garnier-loyal for over 10 years, but after one use of this cream, I was sold. I have 3 different textures of hair: the front/sides are soft, tight spirals, the back is frizzy, tight spirals, and the underneath is soft and wavy at most. I am writing this after using this product the first time. My daughter is 4 with hair halfway down her back. She hates getting it brushed. I have tried expensive leave ins and conditioners, but she always fusses when I brush her hair. Just a few sprays of this in her hair and it was so much easier to brush through. I've used this bottle four times and on the fifth go the pump broke. I haven't even had a chance to use it enough times to give a thorough review of the actual product or a chance to use it on my toddlers curls. A couple things I can say. It didn't weigh down my curls. I'm not super confident it's providing any real moisture to them though. Maybe my pump breaking was just a one off but having a finger pump on such a large bottle is a terrible design in my opinion. It will not be a repurchase now that I have to go purchase a spray bottle in to try to use it up with a grudge and it's definitely not a 'miracle' product.Jacki

I bought this because I was tired of trying to comb the knots out of my daughter's hair, but I didn't want to buy chemical-laden detangler. Plant Therapy to the rescue! We spray this on right after washing and towel drying her hair, and it works wonderfully. The comb glides right through! No tangles or knots, and most of all, no crying. I have only used this once so far since I still have some other conditioner left. I love the smell of this conditioner and it does seem to work well. Instead of spraying on my hair I sprayed it on my hands and then ran my hands through my hair. I was afraid if I sprayed it directly onto my hair it would make my hair oily. Once dry my hair did look like it was the next day after washing but still looked good and still felt soft. I would definitely recommend this product, just not being sprayed directly onto the hair. I have long wavy hair that goes oily, frizzy, and tangled quite easily. I don't use a ton of product because there aren't many really great natural products that work. Plant Therapy continues to amaze me with all of their new lines. I tried this spray because my scalp actually hurts from brushing out my hair after I shower. I apply this product liberally, let it sit for a minute or so, and then brush. It works extremely well. Another bonus is that it doesn't leave an oily residue on my hair which I was really impressed by as everything makes my hair oily. Not to mention, it smells terrific. Sort of citrus and flowery. If I could give this zero start I would. It left a sticky residue on ny hair that actually added to my tangle problem – I had to rewash it. Tried again a couple of weeks later just to see if I'd imagined it. Nope. Once hair had dried I could hardly get a combination though it and hair had a horrible tacky film on it. It's a three for three terrible review for DE's hair products; their shampoo and conditioner resulted in weeping sores on my scalp and hair that felt gross. I’ve been using this product for about two years now and will never stop! I naturally have lots of fine, delicate and curly hair which gets damaged easily when wet. Prior to using this product, I suffered from major breakage issues when attempting to detangle my hair. However, this spray has been a game changer! It hydrates my hair without making it greasy or oily, makes it easy for a brush or comb to pass through and has the added bonus of heat protection! This is a product I would never have looked at, assuming that Marula would be too heavy for my fine coloured hair and preferring to stick to specialist hair companies rather than a diversification from a skincare brand. However, having been professionally diagnosed with various ingredient allergies I’m having to be very careful as o the products I use. Since then I have suffered and struggled with knotted hair on a daily basis as all the products I would have used for de-tangling and so forth contains ingredients I can no longer use. I bought this for my neice coming to visit me. She always wants in my professional hair stuff…. So becayse she's so young I went out and grabbed her own "product" for her to keep at my house. She lived the smell..and felt like a big kid gwtting to help her hairdresser Auntie help do her hair!! It is not sticky or tacky. This product was on sale and so i bought this instead of what i ususally buy. This product smells pretty good not exactly like strawberries but still really sweet! My girls really like the color of the bottle and it is a little bit easier to hold the bottle with the ripples on the side but is off set buy how flat the bottle is. The spray just shoots out and only mists a little making it difficult to work with. Because of the spray i wont be buying this product again; i makes only chuncks of her hair wet instead dampening her hair like i need. The formula is nice and helps with detangling hair so i will only be using the rest of this product as backup.heaven.r
My son has really long, thick, and curly hair. He is also severely autistic and can’t stand the sound or feel of his hair being cut. (It take at least two adults 3 hours). Since it is not always in the cards to cut his hair we use this so we can brush it with the least amount of problems. I have tried several other brands as well as leave in conditioner this is the only thing that works. He even loves to have it sprayed on his head. When he gets out of the shower and first thing in the morning he will bring it to me. I would recommend that anyone in the same circumstances or with a hair type like his use this product it is awesome . I added a picture of him from the back it does not smooth his hair but it tames iterica.l
