I bought two units for part of my bluray/DVD collection and they look great. I’d give them 5 stars but for this type of media storage, the decorative facing pieces (vertical) hide at least one DVD cover on each side of the shelves (two DVDs hidden per shelf). Also the top decorative facing (horizontal) limits DVD access but is fine for blurays. Of course the shelves are adjustable but I bought these to maximize storage and these are the limitations. I plan to remove the decorative facing pieces and replace with some coloured edging to hide the bare particle board (cuts). Overall, no major surprises other than some chips from shipping on one unit (could have returned) and some minor tweaking to the backboards for a perfect fit (trimmed approximately 1/8 inch off the edges). Worth the price and they do look good on the wall.Kirk

This one has smaller shelves than the others I purchased. I wanted to put extra towels on it but it is not wide enough for big towels. I am using it as an extra pantry for dry goods. i bought 6 of these units a while ago while they were on sale, once they were out of the box i was wearry of how cheap the poles were and sure enough after a month the particle board shelves started bowing in a u shape. i have them in the basement with light objects like garden planters and misc house hold items, nothing over 10-15 lb on each shelf. NOT only did the shelves start to misshape, which i could live with , the poles have now started to give out and the all the units shifted over. i had to take everything off the shelves and retighten the poles only for some of them to snap and break.the ones i was able to retighten still slant and will probably have this issue again not long from now. i have had them for maybe 3 years so they paid for them selves but now i need to spend another $160 on metal or thick resin /plastic shelving racks to replace these which is what wish i did from the start!shauna

Principle is good, but, quality of parts not so. Screws supplied are inferior and soft. Shelf brackets need to be forcibly bent and twisted to get shelves level. Welds are suspect after parts are bent. I used better quality screws and adjusted brackets and shelves now look good.jimshann

Have used these in several applications. Love the fact this is powder coated metal. Has some texture (not totally smooth, slightly pebbled/rough). The slight upward cant to the outer lip is stylish. Perfect ledge for pictures, small plants. Use Toggler bolts if installing in drywall for enhanced support. 1/4” or 3/16” will work.Nadia2216
I like the look of these shelves, but they are a bit challenging to install. First off, they do not come with mounting gear, so although they seem like a deal the purchase of drywall screws at a minimum are on you. I needed levels, a drill and a stud sensor, along with significant previous experience to mount these. Also, mounting three side by side was tricky as the angles of the bends of each ledge did not quite line up perfectly, meaning getting one to line up flush with the other cleanly was not do-able. I like the industrial look and they feel sturdy and like they’ll stand the test of time.Melanienienie

This was a great purchase and I am very happy with it. I like that it’s real wood and the color of the wood was just what I was looking for. Easy to assemble. It wobbled a little bit with nothing on it (on hard floor, not carpet) but that was easy to fix with a little felt pad. Would buy again!angelabutler350
The bookcase looks nice, is sturdy and was easy to assemble. My only complaint is that they used a very bad-smelling finish on the wood. I think it is linseed oil, but not sure. Of course, this is on just about every product that is sold in CA.
