These containers are perfect for my narrow utility closet. They allow enough space to pull the containers in and out without me having to remove both. I see people complaining that the measurements aren't right but I know they are pretty darn close because the older containers I had were about 14.5"L. The first disappointing thing about this case is that there are no instructions for setting the combination. Fortunately, my husband knew how. (If I remember correctly, it's hold the latch button to the right, set the code, close the latch.) Secondly, the numbers have to be set to the combination in order to close. I pack hundreds of plastic shoeboxes every year for a mission project in our church. Each little shoebox is filled with school supplies, hygiene products, clothing articles, basic toys, etc. They are then sent to a processing center where they are stacked among thousands of other boxes. Each box then travels to a child somewhere in an impoverished area. So, needless to say, these boxes go through a lot!! I have tried many different plastic shoeboxes, and the sterilite 1642 is by far my favorite. It is a little wider and deeper than most. This allows for a more roomier interior. It also seems to be much more stronger and sturdier, enabling it to withstand all the weight that is put upon it as it is packed full and stacked for processing and shipping. I also love the way the lids are designed in a way that allows the boxes to stack and almost interlock with each other. These boxes travel all over the world and I have heard stories how the recipients then use the box for storing rice or other items. (Which means they arrived still in good condition). I have worked at the centers where these boxes are all processed, and this box and lid doesn't crack, break, or crush during this whole adventure. I can't say that about some other brands of plastic shoeboxes. .Amazing….,I love them…Please don't stop manufacturing the 1642 box. The price has gone up, but it is still a good price for a tough American made storage box. I like to pack shoe box gifts in these for Operation Christmas Child. I am a big fan of Sterilite storage products, however you guys re-designed this particular item a few years ago and made it smaller volume-wise. The sides are tapered narrower at the bottom, the shape is not “square” anymore like the clear “shoeboxes” at Home Depot. So now I’m forced to go to Home Depot for my storage shoeboxes. I am using this to store driver bits & bit holders. Works Great. And so much better than the "pill organizer" I had been using. With 3 rows w/5 optional separators for up to 18 sections, this holds all my bits & magnetic holders. Easy access and secure closure. 3 solid latches seems overkill but better than one flimsy latch. My only demerit is with the separators. It came with 10 "square" and 5 "notched". I went out on a limb with this one and I am NOT sorry! I needed something to organize and store the smaller lamp parts I have. I rework, revitalize and make ceiling lamps so I have a lot of the smaller parts involved in that endeavor. This fit the bill perfectly! The dividers extend to the case lid so the parts don't migrate between sections and it offers flexibility in length of each compartment. They can be used for a multitude of small pieces and having a gasket in the lid makes it all that much more attractive! Now the dividers are attached to each other and they are marked for position (front, middle and back). I used a box cutter to remove the extra plastic flashing so they fit perfectly.K.B.
Like most organizers this comes with plastic dividers. There are four strips of dividers connected together BUT! ,look at the divider strips carefully!! When you cut them apart you must cut the connecter perfectly parallel to the side or it won't fit. Along the bottom edge there is a marking with an arrow. Each divider tile is labeled either FRONT,MIDDLE or BACK. Easy to miss. The ones that go in the front row have a notch in the corner. None of the others do. Although the others don't look different in size or dimension. They all fit very tightly. If you start placing tiles in slots aimlessly and they stick up too high or seat crooked. I needed pliers to pull them out. I had to trim the corners and top edges of many of the tiles with scissors. I would let the lid close while holding it at eye level and every time I saw a tile that was touching the lid? This took way too much time. The latches fit tightly and are secure and you can space the dividers to get bigger compartments. But its too much trouble to make work.Christopher

I have been buying these over the past several years. I live in Central Florida; it's damp here during the rainy season and over the winter. I use these to store everything from linens, clothing, books, shoes, important documents, and miscellaneous everything. These latch boxes keep everything dust and mold free. Also, everything is organized so I can readily find it. (And as an aside, every time my house is burglarized, they grab a few of these to remove what they are interested in stealing. These are the best storage totes I've ever used, hands down. And they make awesome litter boxes too (although the Sterilite folks might cringe at this suggestion). Because they have a large footprint, I can put plenty of kitty litter in and everyone has a "clean spot" to go. Because they are tall, my fastidious girl who likes to really sling the litter around doesn't get it all over the floor. They arrived as promised. Quality and size is as expected though the bottom bin of the stack in the cardboard box was busted up during shipping. Submitted a request through theyre app to return to the store hoping I would be able to get a replacement for just the broken one. Had to haul the large box of bins to Walmart in town only to find out that they cannot just swap out the broken one with another storage bin in stock; they did not carry these exact bins in store. I tried to reorder another set through the app but theyre already out of stock. I really want and need these storage containers so I didnt send them back for a refund. I decided to keep them even though I paid for a busted one. All the rest are in perfect condition. They have lids that clip on with swinging plastic handles. I like that they keep the lids on nice and secure as these boxes will be stored in the attic. Its unfortunate that Walmart return and replacement procedure isnt set up like Amazons, which is seamless. I prefer buying through Amazon for this specific reason. In order to return an item through Amazon, all I need to do is drop it off at a UPS store where my car is just outside their store entrance door not down a long car park and then a thousand feet inside the store. I ordered the bins from Walmart because they had something for a reasonable price; whereas, Amazons prices for storage bins were dear. I ordered some larger bins from Walmart the other day, my fingers and toes are crossed that they wont arrived busted.Kory

SOCKETBIT comes in different sizes and you can pile them on top of each other with ease, making organisation a breeze. We use this to replace IKEA SAMLA transparent boxes. It has similar feature to SOCKERBIT, you can pile SAMLA boxes on top of each other too and while it's great to see the inside of the boxes, it also making your stuff look unorganised in a way. These are a good size. No plastic smell. Thick plastic so they don’t flex. The wheels just slot into place and are good sturdy wheels. Not flimsy plastic ones. Although no lathes the way the lid locks in place is quite clever. The only fault is with wheels added the wheel base is a bit narrow so if you are pushing a stack be careful to not tip. Otherwise the wheels glide over hard and carpet floors with ease! I wish they made more size and some organiser trays. Oh and the white colour is not transparent which means your items are secure from prying eyes. Going to buy some more!Gunther F.
first, we bought one of these boxes to use as our laundry "basket", just without a lid. The lid I use as a liner for below the detergent jag :-). But we finished up buying another 4 of these boxes: 2 for the small tools and instruments we use for the repairs around the house and 2 boxes to store our documents. I found out this box holds very well the A4 and Letter paper sheets as well as papers in folders. Obviously, these boxes are not fireproofed (I did not expect this from them) but at least are partially waterproofed. We have hurricanes and rains here in Florida, so water is the enemy. I like that I can quickly take them, place them into the trunk in case of an emergency and drive away. The 2 boxes for the tools we keep on an OMAR shelving unit and they fit nicely on one shelf together. Also easy to grab and place into the trunk. These boxes are very sturdy, and sturdier than Kuggis boxes, they are also taller and narrower than the biggest Kuggis box. Sockerbit box will hold more items than the biggest Kuggis box. it's easier to move it around and also the lid closes better and more securely.Mykhailo

We ordered this for in store pickup based on needing a moisture proof sealable container. When we went to pick it up, one of the two that we had purchased had a large hole in a bottom corner where the plastic had shattered and pieces were missing. The plastic that it is made of appears to be too brittle for this application. So we immediately returned both of them. I was surprised that the person picking out our merchandise did not notice it when they took it off the shelf.Marie
Have purchased several of these EZY storage containers. Clarity is nice but these containers shatter very easily – way too fragile. Bottom and tabs where handles attach crack. Manufacturer does not seem to care – needs to change type of polypropylene, add impact modifier or increase thickness to resolve this issue. There should be "Fragile Handle with Care" stickers on these containers.
I've. had a lot and so happy to find these ones. I am a vendor and use containers often and a lot. They are super sturdy and stack amazingly well, two smaller ones fit on top of the big one. I bought a a few to try them out but I'm coming for more! On top of everything they DO protect from water, once. the rain started and I vended outside, and whatever was inside the containers, stayed intact. The plastic is really of great quality and doesn't stink unlike so many others. I thought I was going to have to buy commercial grade bins which are about $60 a piece and not see-through (which is critical for me as I prefer to see not look for a label). Highly recommend!Ama
