After hearing RAVE reviews about this product, I finally took the leap and purchased a small travel sized version in the hopes that it would be the answer to my miserably limp, fine hair. Although I was wowed when I first applied it, as the day wore on, I was pretty disappointed. PROS: Smells great! I'm not as enraptured as other people seem to be with Oribe's signature scent (to me it smells like nice salon shampoo, nothing much more?), but it does feel luxurious and clean when you spray it in compared to regular high street brands which can be a bit headachey and chemical smelling. I tried it both in my roots and all over layer by layer) to see how it held up, and honestly – it looks pretty. It gives you a nice, messy, undone kind of look that is effortlessly 'rolled out of bed' voluminous and wavy. I compared one half of my head to the other when using it, and there was a definite increase in volume and it looked pretty glamorous! CONS: You cannot. Touch. Your hair. AT ALL! Once I ran my fingers through it to fluff it up a bit more, the volume seemed to collapse and disappear ENTIRELY. It was super bizarre – even my boyfriend (who watched me spray it in and subjected to my 'are you SURE it's different? Different in what way? Is it nice big? Do you like it?') was surprised at how quickly it reversed back to my normal flat hair. I ended up spraying the whole thing again to try and get it back to being voluminous – very wasteful and I only have very fine medium length hair! Also – it leaves your hair feeling ROUGH and DRY AS HELL. I bundled it up that evening and when I woke up to brush my hair out, I was shocked at how horrible and rough my hair had become! I was really not impressed at all by that point – I have used drugstore products that have left my hair feeling much better and produce reasonable volume. Really outrageous in that respect given how much Oribe charges for this. Overall, I think this is a great product if you're the kind of person who can leave their hair alone once it's all done up – otherwise, any touching will make the hair collapse again. I feel like maybe this would work well with a mousse of some kind and a shine serum (Oribe has a great one in a blue tube!). However, this is a luxury product, and I should not have to purchase and invest more products just to make this work. However, I have friends and relatives who adore this stuff and swear by it. I'd still recommend it if you're already quite good at styling hair and you have lots of hair products already in your routine. But for me, it's going back to the store in a returns box!mun

I received the ORIBE dry texturizing spray free for testing purposes from Influenster and Oribe. I have long fine hair that gets extremely oily within hours after washing my hair. I have been trying to not wash my hair often and it looks absolutely gross after a couple of days. I have tried dry shampoo in the past but I hated how it made my hair feel heavy and I especially couldn’t stand the white powder that got every where onto my clothes. The ORIBE dry texturizing spray is an amazing alternative to those like me who despise the effects of dry shampoo. The spray is easy to use and the product comes out in a continuous fine mist/heavy burst. The spray has a luxurious pleasant clean perfume scent (floral/citrus) that is long lasting. I like to use the spray after the shower once my hair has fully air dried. I use the spray to slightly style my hair by combing it through and tossing my hair around to create volume. The spray is extremely light weight and it doesn’t have a crunchy strong gel like hold. A little goes a long way! I don’t think it’s intended for that anyway. What is most impressive is that the next day my hair felt like it had even more texture and volume. It made my hair feel fuller and richer. The spray is a miracle worker that works wonders over time. I enjoy changing up my look from time to time but in doing so I have found that many wigs quickly can get unruly. When starting out I had no idea how to maintain my wigs so I had to really learn through suggestions and trial and error. This product was suggested to me and I picked it up to help give life to my wigs and keep them looking a little more kept. While this spray was helpful especially on curly wigs I noticed that it made my straighter wigs look more oily than conditioned. This product is a great answer to prevent frizz and tangling of your extensions and natural hair. I tried oils and 100 other things to stop the snarls in my extensions, this is the only product that has worked. Not only does it keep your extensions soft and conditioned, but it also does the same thing for your natural hair. It also protects your hair against flat irons, blow dryers & curling irons. I noticed less breakage, hair feels moisturized and soft almost like when the extension hair was new. Great Product!ceillia

I have long, straight, black, glassy hair. My partner, however, has bleached, frizzy hair (naturally light brown hair to platinum. ALSO, since he is super impatient he doesn't let me bleach his hair *properly* so it ends up damaging his hair like crazy. He also hates upkeep that takes longer than 5 minutes lol) Enter DREAM COAT. It has a special polymer (fancy word for plastic) and that's why it's heat-activated. If you let your hair air-dry and use it before heat-styling, you'll still see a fantastic difference, but it truly makes the most difference when you use it as directed. I won't say the air drying is useless, for sure. So this is his hair BEFORE, with partial air drying, then AFTER spraying and using a flat iron. It looks and feels AMAZING. I usually follow up with the Mist-Ical Shine Spray (also an AMAZING product) but this time I didn't and it STILL looks and feels so soft! The ONLY reason I put 4 stars is becahse the price. It's a teeeeeny bit ridiculous, but obviously worth it or else I wouldn't keep buying it. Hair Chemist has a dupe at Sally Beauty that is almost HALF the price (and 2 more oz) However, its scent is heavier and it is ever-so-slightly not as good in performance, but a great buy if you can't come to terms spending $30 a month on this stuff. Dream Coat's scent is very mild, like a mix of water and chamomile tea. Hair Chemist smells nice, but most definitely a stronger scent. I would show you MY hair, but my partner's transformation is way, way more drastic, clearly. It completely changes his hair. Also, it says it lasts through 3 shampoos? I don't trust that lol. AND try not to use extra products or a conditioner that leaves a film, otherwise the color wow will just slip off. P.s. Even in KY summer weather after the rain (which is like walking into a SAUNA) his hair refuses to frizz! THAT is amazing.alli.b

Let me start by saying this is a great product however there is a but… When worked into wet hair & then activated by heat, which in my case is normally a hair dry with my dyson air wrap & closely followed by either the curling tool on the air wrap or my GHD straighteners depending on the days hair goals. The product really brings my hair to life… for the day, max two days. It does leave my hair less frizzy (my GHD’s do that too mind you!) & the shine it gives my hair is stunning, I’ve had many compliments however I am one of those lucky humans who only normally needs to wash their hair once a week. This product does however make my hair appear increasingly greasy. Sometimes I can get away with using it & not washing my hair until day three after use but I often find that by the night of day two my hair looks greasy. Perhaps I am over doing it? I am not sure. I have tried using more, tried using less but it always seems the same. So I think it’s one of those products I will whip out on the day of an important event to make my hair pop but not one I will use religiously because well I’m lazy when it comes to my hair & unless my scalp psoriasis is having a flare up I do not wish to be washing my hair every other day. Even if the shine almost…almost makes it worth it. So for that reason I have given three stars. If I didn’t have the grease issue then it would be five stars hands down. Also let me clarify it makes my hair look greasy but it doesn’t feel greasy actually it feels sleek & smooth. That’s the sad part.Chynna

I bought the small size of this to try first as I saw mixed reviews on it online. I have long, fine, non-colour treated hair, and this product worked AMAZING for me. I didn’t get a “glassy” look, but it definitely increased shine for me after 1 application. It reduces frizz SIGNIFICANTLY, and I washed my hair for the first time since adding it and it definitely still has an effect (so it worked well for first application and after my first wash after using it, so far). I am curious to see if it will actually last a full 3-4 washes. I am 40 years old and currently trying to heal my hair from damage from wearing it up all the time (ponytail, buns, messy buns, alllllll the time). This product DEFINTIELY makes it easier to wear my hair down more often because it looks great, my hair is texturally beautiful, and I don’t get the hair static to my neck that I hate, or my hair looking stringy and gross. It just does a beautiful job and does exactly what it says. I will definitely be upgrading to the big bottle when my little one runs out!! I also made sure to follow directions exactly – use on towel dried/damp hair; used a generous amount of product; used a blow dryer with a round brush during drying.mysmilingeyes

First of all dont let my rating disappoint you on the shampoo. Ive been buying at my salon and due to current restrictions felt guilty asking for it to be delivered again. My hairdresser has already dropped me a bottle off but felt cheeky asking again. My only reason for low rating was sadly the top wasnt screwed on properly and when I removed from packaging my bottle dropped to the floor and I lost quite a bit of shampoo. Probably one of the best purple shampoos you can find. I dont have blonde hair and never have. I have pitch black hair but use this for shine and let me tell you it adds shine. And I love the smell, of all milkshake products absolutely love it. Does wonders to blonde hair is well as the purple is super pigmented. Would recommend using in conjunction with a moisturizing shampoo as it may cause dandruff andor, especially in people with dry scalps. Would recommend that blondes or people with greywhite hair use it once to twice a week because it can turn your hair purple. YES I repeat, its so pigment that it may turn your hair purple. I have natural blonde hair and tend to add brown lowlights occasionally. Once I try to go back to natural my hair always tends to look brassy then orange. This stuff is the best I have found to take the brass out It will stain my nail beds so I use gloves but its worth the extra trouble. Less is more. Very easy to use and apply. Former mousse and gel user. Fine and thinning hair, matte offers enough hold. Very mild scent. Can comb hair back into place with the palm of my hand! Over lockdown I grew my hair out like a lot of people and decided to go to for a traditional barber cut afterwards ending up with a slick back style. I found my existing hair products a bit lacking so decided to look into getting more professional (if you will) products. After some research I liked the look of Uppercut's products and also their brand ideals and after browsing their site settled on the Matte Pomade. Now that I've been using it for a while and figured out the best amount and application for my hair I'm really pleased with it. It's light and not too shiny giving my hair a natural look which I really like. It also washes out well with water meaning I don't have to put my hair through shampooing every day but still working without making my hair greasy or limp a couple of days after shampooing. I do find I need to hold the sides with some hairspray but that could be down to my hair or inexperience in styling longer hair (any plans for adding hairspray to your range?). Just on a side note, I was sent a really handy little guide with the product that gave scores out of 10 for hold and shine for all the styling products which was much more helpful than the info on the site in my opinion. I think the guide being online would be a good idea. Very happy and will definitely be returning.Robin M.

Seems quite effective in adding volume for men with a finer hair type and looking for a product that does that. Could be re-applied intra-day if desired or needed, as it is to be applied to dry hair rather than wet. I would say this also means it doesn't really combine or work very well if you try to add it after using another styling product (say you wanting it just to add more volume for example). It functions more as a standalone product from what I've found. Because it has a less firm hold it should work well for those after something to allow a looser natural-looking style and adding volume at the same time, less so for those who want a style that needs a more controlled styling product with a firmer hold to pull off.Luke

This is a product that can be found with all of my other hair products. I use it almost daily, especially when I want a great hair day. I use the serum first and then spray over it. It helps my curls to spring to life. There is no sticky or crunchy residue. The scent is faint but pleasant. I will keep on purchasing this because it works perfectly in my hair.Stephen

Ive worked my way through dozens of brands of hair products over the years and this is one of the best for a few reasons. What first attracted me to this was the smell. My barber uses it and it smells amazing like others have said, almost like pineapple. I thing it works best with short hair but it has excellent hold and doesnt feel too sticky or greasy once in. Neither does it look wet once applied. It also washes out very easily. Highly recommended .Anonymous

I have tried various hair products over time, but for my thin hair which gets whipped around in any wind, Ill stick with this product. Its great as it stays good for the whole day, doesnt leave residue and is able to be reshaped so easily. It is not always easy to find in stores or hairdressers in Australia, so I just go online and have it delivered to the door without any fuss whatsoever. A great product supplied by a great company. I used this a long time ago and had a good memory of it. However, they must have changed the formula as the scent was better in the old days.Also, this is now one of the greasiest hair products that Ive used. I think using butter would look less greasy. The hold isnt that great, so its difficult to understand the purpose of this hair product.Even using a little amount and then blowdrying the hair results in a greasy finish, so I threw it in the bin.If youve got ultra short hair and want a wetlook then maybe this is for you.Anonymous

Receiving this product around the same time I just brought a wig which was perfect. After I wash the wig I sprayed the wig not reading the directions before hand that a little goes a long way, since I sprayed too much and had to rewash it because it was too oily. After I installed the wig I use the product to keep the hair looking shiny. But the wig seem kinda worn out even tho I only had it in for a few days and only using the spray at night. I normally wear my hair natural and wanted to switch it up, so this product isn’t something I’ll use frequently. I mean when I decide to put a wig on or maybe braids I’ll try the spray again. kori.r

I’ve been wearing wigs for the past two months. Where has this product been all my life? First, I used this product on my synthetic barrel curls wig. A couple of sprays and you have a new wig! No more throwing out synthetic wigs after the life time for use runs out. The big barrel curls moved bk in place with no need for me to recurl. I just spray, fluff, and go. My long human hair curly wig held up well when this product was applied before I went out in Florida’s humility and rain. For the first time I didn’t look like a Chia Pet. My hair stayed tamed and unfrizzed the whole day. I couldn’t believe it! The smell is kinda a mild fruity smell that is pleasant and the texture of the product is oily. A little goes a long way. This is the first time I’ve ever written a review! I’ve had this product now for about 2 week or so and I needed something to help moisturize my senegalese twists during this pandemic. This product exceeded my expectations! It’s not too thick but not watery either. It’s a perfect consistency and the spray bottle spritz out nice and even (I’ve had some that broke or was messy and leaked so this was a plus for me!) The product does keep my hair moisturize for a few days too and doesn’t leave it dry or brittle. It makes my hair feel so soft & revived!! My Routine: 1. Spray with plain water first 2. Spray in the leave-in-conditioner (scalp & hair strands twists) 3. Oil/Grease my scalp and my hair strands of the twist I don’t spray in the leave in conditioner everyday. The smell is okay in my opinion. It’s not strong or overbearing; it’s definitely more of a natural scent of the bamboo than I can smell of the coconut (love coconut). But, that’s just my opinion. True test is when I take my twists down and see how my natural hair will be but for now I’m really satisfied. I would repurchase this again. I did my research before purchasing and I’m happy I came across this product and it wasn’t a fail! The shipping cost, ugh, I think we can all agree we hate. I ended up paying about $17 so keep that in mind for your purchase. It took about a week to arrive instead of the 3 days but again we’re in middle of pandemic so it’s a reasonable pass. I'm always looking to try a new product, see what my hair likes and what it doesn't. I tried the apple leave in conditioner first and didn't think I'd find anything better. Then I tried this one and this just might be that one to beat out the apple and aloe leave in. I keep my hair in twists, so I've been looking for a leave in that's light and liquid enough to spray on my twists to keep them hydrated (trying to work in the standard creams just creates frizz and I end up having to retwist everything). I even tried making my own, but I'm not the most crafty type. This is wonderful from the smell, to it's amazing slip, to how well it absorbs into my low porosity hair. This past wash day, I sprayed my hair with it but didn't retwist my hair right away. That was 2 days ago. I started retwisting my hair tonight and it was still soft! No knots! The only thing is the size of the bottle. It's not bad, really, but if you have a ton of hair like me, I suggest getting more than 1 bottle. I’m a product Trier and always in search for great products. I have bought my second jar of this gel I use for twist the first week then twist outs by end of week for next week. I find the sticky blue gel just a little goes a long way. Slip’s excellently. Twist are the jus right texture once dry. When I take down the definition is spectacular I have a bother brand I use that remains soft and more beautiful at take down but not as lasting definition for days. I use to do wash and go but I don’t appreciate the strinkage. But I think I’d use this product for it if I didStephanie H.
