I would give this four stars for bristles and barrel, zero for handle/grip. I like to use a boar bristle brush for my medium length, wavy hair, but also wanted to add the benefits of a ceramic barrel and thought I had found it. The bristles are soft, yet effective at controlling hair from root to end. The barrel seems to provide thorough drying and heating. Unfortunately, my hair continually entangled in the rubber grip and I had to discontinue use. I am not a blow drying novice–have been blow drying my hair almost daily for over 30 years–and I could not find a way to use this brush without ripping my hair out. The end result from using this brush was nice after I used it for the first time the other night. My hair felt super smooth and silky. However, the handle is SO grippy that my hairs were constantly getting caught in it while blow drying, which kept causing little knots. I have long, thick hair, so it was a little hard for the boar bristles to really get in there even though my hair was sectioned off into small strands. I'm going to try this brush one more time when my hair has had even more time to air dry, maybe that will make a difference. I seldom change the style of hairbrush I use as it isn't easy to find a good hair brush that has bristles that go thru my thick hair and actually reach my scalp. The paddle shape, for me, is too fat in the middle – wish this were oblong and narrower, so that when I flip my mid-back length hair to the front, it would prevent tangles better. My hair is evidently thicker than these bristles are designed for; it is difficult to get the bristles through to my scalp, which is, of course, what boar bristle brushes are supposed to do – keep hair healthy by distributing natural scalp oils the full length of the hair. I do like keeping this in my living room, so I can brush my hair while watching TV in the evenings to relax. If I brush the back half of my head from the underside, and the front half from the top, the brush manages to work for my whole scalp. You need info to decide if this is the brush for you. I have fine hair, but I have a decent amount of it. Not a ton, but decent. This brush does not get through to my scalp unless I divide my hair into sections. Even then, not great. You need the brush to reach the scalp to distribute oils into your hair, so it's not super effective at that. For that purpose, I'm going to get a brush that's a combo boar/nylon. The nylon will reach your scalp. This brush is not a good blow-dry brush, either. Boar brushes are not meant to be used to blow dry long hair. That said, this brush is great for blow drying cowlicks out of my bangs. If you have bangs, you might want to consider it. It's also good for bang touch up during the day. So basically, if you have bangs, this might be a nice choice. Ineffective otherwise, unless you have very fine hair and not a ton of it.C

I think this brush would be great on thin hair. I have a lot of hair and even though it is short, this brush only gets the top layer so I have to do it in small sections which takes much longer and makes my hair look even thicker. It makes it poofy. And my head gets hotter because the dryer is on it longer. I have another one similar with wider spaced bristles that grabs bigger chunks at once and flattens it better. My son really loves this brush. For people with thick and long hair, the bristles help tame the hair by using natural oils from the scalp. The handle is made strong, but like others have stated, the bristles do start falling out after several uses. Overall, the brush works for what I bought it for, but I may need to find one that’s more reliable. The brush pictured above is the brush that I ordered. However the four brushes I received were substantially different. The brushes received had far fewer bristles and the bristles that were described as being xtra soft boar bristle were NOT extra soft. After reading the many reviews of different boar bristle brushes, I narrowed it down to this brush. I take extremely good care of my hair- all natural shampoos+conditioners; wrap my hair in a cotton t-shirt and let it air dry; use silk scrunchies and hair ties; and use a wide tooth comb to detangle my hair. My hair alone is very soft and healthy but using this brush is a PLUS. Seeing that it was a VEGAN brush was also a plus to me! This brush makes my hair insanely soft and shiny and even voluminous! The color is also so adorable! This brush is 100/10 recommend! I read other reviews mentioning lint or something; Not too sure about that honestly- my brush never caught lint or anything idk.leisanteramo
I was scriptural of brush styling my hair. Brushes have been my enemy since I was young, so I had my doubts. I usually finger detangle in the shower and might give a trouble spot one pass with a Wet Brush. This brush changed everything I thought I knew about brush styling!! It literally creates ribbons in my hair, adds volume and bounce, and distributes product so well I have been using less. It has a lot of tension, so I have very gentle with the more damaged parts of my hair. After applying my products I use this brush while my hair is still wet to shape the curls and add definition. It definitely creates clumps, I’ve noticed if the sections are too big I will have to pull them apart. If you have fine hair, it might not be for you. I highly recommend.jasmine.l
I would give this 0 stars if I could. Save your money and keep whatever brush it is you currently have because I can almost guarantee it’s better than this one. I’ve only had this brush a few months but very quickly the ball points started falling off. This causes the brush to scrape my scalp and I’ve had to stop using it. It is also very difficult to clean. And to be completely clear, this vegan brush is simply nylon. No fancy, natural fibres in place of animal derived bristles and it’s not well made. You can find nylon brushes for a fraction of the cost at any drugstore.LMY612

When I first got it my hair looked so silky and amazing, but after about a week the top of my head just started to look really frizzy and my hair is never frizzy. I realize this brush was ripping my hair and I had literally gotten this brush to combat that. I am really disappointed and have just started using my wide tooth comb again. The only time I use it now is on my bang if they are really not cooperating.Piper
