Cake's Curl Girl is definitely designed to lure in people like me who 1) Love the color pink ~ the bottle & writing are pink and so is the shampoo! 2) Want their shampoo & their hair to smell good ~ the scent is my VERY FAVORITE thing about this shampoo! There's, in fact, something about the warm pink color of this shampoo combining with the fact that it smells like licorice that has completely drawn me in ~ I'm probably hooked for life! And that's even with it not being the best shampoo I've ever used! I've always been really good about doing that thing your hairdresser tells you to do ~ you know, have at least two shampoos going that you alternate daily so that your hair doesn't get weighed down with a single product or "used to" the product & stop showing its benefits ~ but all of that went out the window a few days before Thanksgiving when I received my Curl Girl Shampoo! I'm so addicted to the scent, I used it every day without a break for a week & I will use it for the rest of my life! Maybe I got a bad batch smell-wise, but mine smells like plastic and a really bad cake-scented toy. It's very chemical and fake smelling to me, and I'm disappointed as heck in the scent. As far as the performance, it doesn't do much better in that department for my hair. My hair felt simultaneously dry and covered in residue after use. It says something on the bottle about keeping your hair cleaner for longer, but my hair looked greasy after only a few short hours when I used this. For being sulfate free, it did lather well, hence the 2 stars. I'm actually planning on just getting rid of the remainder of this bottle because I dislike it so much.mandy.g

Receiving this product around the same time I just brought a wig which was perfect. After I wash the wig I sprayed the wig not reading the directions before hand that a little goes a long way, since I sprayed too much and had to rewash it because it was too oily. After I installed the wig I use the product to keep the hair looking shiny. But the wig seem kinda worn out even tho I only had it in for a few days and only using the spray at night. I normally wear my hair natural and wanted to switch it up, so this product isn’t something I’ll use frequently. I mean when I decide to put a wig on or maybe braids I’ll try the spray again. kori.r

I’ve been wearing wigs for the past two months. Where has this product been all my life? First, I used this product on my synthetic barrel curls wig. A couple of sprays and you have a new wig! No more throwing out synthetic wigs after the life time for use runs out. The big barrel curls moved bk in place with no need for me to recurl. I just spray, fluff, and go. My long human hair curly wig held up well when this product was applied before I went out in Florida’s humility and rain. For the first time I didn’t look like a Chia Pet. My hair stayed tamed and unfrizzed the whole day. I couldn’t believe it! The smell is kinda a mild fruity smell that is pleasant and the texture of the product is oily. A little goes a long way. I will definitely be using this product next after I install butterfly locks as I can use to keep my locs shiny and my scalp hydrated.autumn.a

My stylist recommended this product for my Bellami Weft Extensions. I used the shampoo and conditioner! The shampoo worked well, but the conditioner didn’t seem to do much. My hair wasn’t soft getting out of the shower and it made my hair not smell the greatest! I wouldn’t buy this product again.anna rae.d

I love the Bellami hair extensions! I love that I can take them out and put them in whenever I want. They are super soft and easy to maintain. Don’t use any other shampoo but the one from the website other shampoos take away the softness of the extensions. They look super natural and are easy to blend inMegan C.

I recently had extensions put in and although I always use a sulfite free shampoo and conditioner I wanted to change my brand. I realky love the smell of this conditioner and it works amazing on my oily hair. I only use this on the bottom half of my hair since the top of my head produces too much oil. I shampoo and condition my hair every days and use dry shampoo once in between washes. I don't like alot of build up. The Matrix shampoo and conditioner definitely clean and soften my hair. This stuff really worked for me in terms of colour and overall coverage. (Also found it didn’t cover greys but I wasn’t expecting that since the company says that it’s not meant for grey coverage so I just pluck them.) I did find it a bit drying on my hair, so I recommend an Olaplex treatment to follow up if you often have an issue with dry hair. Good news is that my hair soaks up most products, bad news is that any dye usually dries it out. I read in these reviews to use less time if you have thinner, more dry hair and I totally echo that tip. Start with 5 mins, rinse, dry, style, see how you like it. Can always add more time on follow up applications, but wait at least 4-6 week to try again. Having said all that, this product almost works TOO good. My concern in this part is for your shower, not your hair. If going with a darker colour I highly recommend applying outside of the shower, like with any other hair dye, and washing out in a stainless steel sink. The first time I used it, I applied in the shower and it stained the white walls and white shower curtain. And also stained the label on the bottle! I thought my partner was going to KILL me (his house) and I had a mini panic attack while praying I could get it to come off the shower walls (white plastic tub surround). Rubbing with my fingers was not cutting it. I was able to scrub it off using a powder cleaner, but if you want to save yourself the anxiety, just apply like a regular dye, and wash out in the sink. If you don’t have that option, or would rather risk your shower over your bathroom, just have a good cleaner on hand to clean spots immediately off the walls. DO NOT apply in the shower if you have light-coloured tile! You will never be able to get it out of light-coloured grout, which is the stuff between the tiles holding them to the wall. Do not risk it or you might be paying to re-tile the shower and/or won’t be getting your damage deposit back!GenoaK

I received a free full size sample of the dpHUE Gloss+ Semi-permanent hair color and I am a fan! I am a licensed cosmetologist and I usually stay away from anything that isn't used in a professional salon setting but, after a recent color appointment left my hair over-processed and brittle, as well as too blonde I was excited to give this semipermanent hair color and deep conditioner a try. (We just moved across the country and I don't have the time right now to make it to the supply house for a toner and conditioning treatment) I received the color medium brown. The application process was so easy, I shampooed and conditioned my hair in the shower, stepped to the side and towel dried my hair and combed it out, then applied this semipermanent hair color. I left it on for the remainder of my shower, approximately 7-10 minutes. The pigment is wonderful and rich, and it leaves beautiful warm tones in your hair. If you don't wear gloves to apply, make sure you have soap on standby to clean your hands or it will stain! This product left my hair silky smooth and shiny. I was very pleased with the golden brown color it toned my hair to. I was even more pleased to see that it did not slough off on my flat iron or my white pillow cases. I've already shampooed my hair once and the color stuck around. I can tell it's lighter and that it'll continue to lighten as I shampoo, but that's the point of semipermanent hair color. I think if I was in a pinch and needed to tone my hair between color appointments I would definitely consider buying this product. I'd also recommend this product for friends or family who need a quick fix to tone down and/or condition their hair.Kyra

I loved the ease of not having to mix this product and having both the option to apply in-shower to damp hair or to dry. I used the dark brown which was perfectly suitable for my hair color. For the first application I used the in-shower on damp hair method. This sounded like no brainer… I didn't have to worry about the product getting on anything, I was already going to wash my hair anyway, and I could quickly and easily wash my hands to prevent the pigment from staining my hands… Right? Yes, to all but the latter!!! The company does warn that darker shades can stain the skin but I never imagined that it would stain my hands the second it made contact. I had to scrub my hands with a pumice stone until they were sore and raw in order to get the stains off. You have been warned 🙂 Now fearful of what was the underestimated power of this product, I only left it on my hair for approximately 5 minutes. The results were great, as I did notice my color was a beautiful, deeper, richer version of its self prior to the treatment. Thankfully, my hair is already shiny so I am unable to review that aspect of the products claim. After 2 weeks I thought it only be fair to try this product using the dry method and left it on for the same duration of time for a most accurate comparison… This time, I used gloves 🙂 The results were equally as positive and effective without the stress of staining. Both applications were super easy, as there was no mixing, the product comes in an easy to use bottle with a pump dispenser and the formula is rich and thick making for an effortless application. I would highly recommend this product for anyone looking for more dimension and an easy at home semipermanent color either in between visits to the salon or just to give your locks an extra boost of shine and depth. Compared to similar products, dpHUE delivered a richer longer lasting color. I would definitely recommend this product and will be repurchasing in the future.SammyJo
